Bosom Buddies

Back in 2014 I was visiting Denver and stopped in at this store. I had been nursing my daughter for just a few months and was still very insecure about all things nursing. The staff here was so unbelievably supportive as they helped me shop for a fitting nursing bra. I hope to order another bra from them online soon, and called recently to speak with someone about what would be best for me. Always have appreciated the warm & friendly customer service.

I had my daughter almost two months ago and desperately needed a couple nursing bras. A friend recommended Bosom Buddies, and I finally got a chance to go this afternoon. I told Gayle my pre-​breastfeeding bra size, and she grabbed several bras off the racks and took me back to the changing room. Turns out, I needed a (much) bigger size than I thought (hellooooo boobs) and she repeatedly brought different sizes and styles to me as needed; we even went through the racks together to find what I wanted. After several rounds, I chose a style I liked. I wanted a second one in black, but they didn’t have that in stock. No problem — Gayle ordered it and is having it shipped directly to my house so I don’t have to come back to the store to pick it up (no extra charge for shipping). I was so pleased with the service and selection. Give ‘em a try! Side note: There are two parking spots out front with signs reserving them for pregnant or new/​nursing moms, which was a nice touch. The parking lot was really full, so this was a nice bonus.

The employees were very nice and helpful. They didn’t have my size bra in stock so they had to order it. When I tried it on it felt really tight and the cups were too big. I was able to return it with no problems. I will be going back for another bra when I start breast feeding.

Oh the joy of maternity bra shopping! As much as I dreaded having to do this, Cindi made it a pleasant and successful experience. Without her help, I would’ve wasted a bunch of time selecting pretty bras in the wrong sizes, getting my hopes up only to be disappointed in the dressing room. I described to her what I was looking for, and even though I’m pretty sure that bra doesn’t exist, she came pretty darn close to finding it for me. On sale even!
The store has a great selection of maternity and non-​maternity bras, clothing, and nursing supplies. I loved the VIP parking for pregnant and nursing mothers right out front, too! They are connected electronically to their other store location and are able to quickly check inventory there.
With my new bra, I am now comfy and supported. As an added bonus, I have a double-​parachute if I ever find myself needing to jump off a tall building or out of an airplane.

Worst customer service ever. They would not take back a few bras that I received as gifts for Christmas. I did not wear the bras and the tags were attached and it was within 30 days. I was planning on exchanging the bra for the correct size but their lack of professionalism and concern for the customer left me with a bad taste in my mouth. The «manager» said that there was a stain on the bra and they could not resell it. I have no idea what she was referring to as there was no visible markings on the bra-​i couldn’t even wear it as it wasn’t even the correct size. When I called the store she refused to give me corporates information and conveniently had no idea when her boss would be in next. Do not go here. I will only take my business to Nordstroms where they hold customer service at a much higher standard.

My personal pump had stopped working over a trip to Chicago in Aug., so the first thing I did when we landed was head to Bosom Buddies to rent a pump. I got the pump, brought it home, and everything was fine. Unfortunately, I’ve had to switch over to formula due to lack of milk production. I went to return the pump yesterday (12÷13÷14), and was told that I was paid up through 1÷12÷15. I could have sworn that my contract was the 16^th, but apparently not. I asked if I could be pro-​rated for the ONE day that it was late, and was told no. I said «Is there anyone that can do anything to help me?», and was told «Not here, and not today. You might as well just take it back home with you since you have already paid for it.» I took the pump back to my car, and honestly, cried. As I was walking out the door, I got the «friendly», rude-​toned reminder to «make sure you have it back by the 12^th!» Absolutely unbelievable.

Do not rent a breast pump from these people! I returned my breast pump and they claimed a little piece was chipped off even though it worked great and I think it was that way when I got it. She said it would be $ 200. I asked to see something from medella that supported that price and she said she refused. By the end of the conversation, she said to forget about it, but now months later I get a call from a collection company for over $ 400. I am sorry, but the woman I spoke to seemed legitimately crazy.

I needed to rent a pump. I also had to move to Kansas shortly after having my baby. I sent emails asking policy in this situation to which I got no reply. Once I was done with the pump I called to ask how they preferred for me to get it back to them. (I called because NONE of my emails were ever returned) I called multiple times and left a couple messages. NO REPLIES. NO RETURN PHONE CALLS.

I decided to catch a cheap flight to Denver to return the pump and visit family. I called and left a voice mail detailing my plans and time line for returning the pump. (NO ONE EVER ANSWERS THE PHONE OR RETURNS MESSAGES!) the pump was due back the 30^th I returned it the 4^th. I was charged the full $ 69 for a month of pump rental I didn’t use. I asked for a prorated charge since I had warned them in advance and asked in advance about either mailing it or bringing it on the flight. Gayle (owner/​manager) acted like she had never ever heard of me, my situation or my phone calls or messages or emails. I took every step I could to get an answer on if they would accept return of pump through mail or if I needed to walk it into the store. NO ONE EVER REPLIED. It is a totally unfair business practice to charge for a full month of use in this situation. Once I finally got Gayle on the phone she assured me she would talk with the billing department to work out a deal. It never happened. She led me on to get me off the phone. Called and left a message a week later saying she would not refund any money. DISGUSTING!

The first time I went to Bosom Buddies was for a couple nursing bras. I had a great experience. Even though there was 1 employee serving 4 customers all at once, I felt that I received very impressive, personalized service. I had a professional fitting, was offered a number of different bras to try, and found exactly what I was looking for — even spending less than I expected.
But, my next visit was the BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! After giving birth to a preemie, I needed a breast pump ASAP. Not only did Bosom Buddies help me with a breast pump — they opened the store on New Year’s Day, so my little guy could eat. Talk about going above and beyond. I cannot say enough good things about the caring staff.

Awful, awful, awful!
I went to this store before delivery and had a good experience with an older woman who fitted me and helped me pick out a couple of nursing bras.
After delivery, I was having some trouble with nursing and needed to pump regularly so I brought in my pump to get some help. The little girl working the register was the rudest, most condescending person I have ever encountered. She asked where I got my pump and I told her Craigslist (it was brand new!) and she gave me the biggest look of disgust I have ever gotten from someone who was supposed to be helping me. I ignored her and continued to ask a few questions when she went to help someone else. My husband came in during that time and we spent about 10 minutes trying to decide what we really needed. She came back to help us and basically said, ‘your pump is unhygienic, your milk will never come in if you don’t replace all these parts, and basically you don’t give a sh*it about your baby if you don’t buy this crap.“
I’d had enough and said, ‘all you’ve done since I walked in here was make me feel small. I came here for help and you’ve done nothing but tell me what an idiot I am.” I walked out in tears while my husband explained to her what a jerk she was. Of course, we left with nothing and will never go back.

I love the concept of this store as I am very pro-​breastfeeding and there are certain products that make nursing easier at the beginning. However, the customer service at this place is AWFUL! I rented a pump for 1 month and my husband returned it 2 days late and they charged for another FULL MONTH! I explained that I had some serious medical issues and I couldn’t personally return the pump, so my husband had to do it for me when he was off work on the weekend. The owner DID NOT care and said that there are many new moms that have medical issues and they make no exceptions because they have to pay the bills. (talk about not knowing their customers. I would think that if other moms have issues too, they should be willing to work with a customer in a time of need!) I said I would gladly pay for the 2 extra days. I even said I would use that money in her store to buy a bra. NOPE! I paid $ 120 to use a pump 6 times at home. This place reminds me of Europe– trying to rip you off and no customer service. Yikes… won’t ever go back and I do not recommend to anyone, especially not to rent a pump. I will try Sweet Beginnings in Littleton next time. I heard they are much easier to work with.

I drove pretty far out of my way to try this store because it sounds great in theory. I hate to say it, but I had an almost identical experience to some of the other reviewers here. I was pressured into buying two very expensive bras that I didn’t feel fit me right. I was made to feel stupid for suggesting that they didn’t fit and that I would like to try other options. To this day, I hate both of them and only use them when my favorite bras are being washed.
There was one bra I insisted on trying on at the store (the Bravado Body Silk). She was opposed to me trying it on because she didn’t think it would work for me. I actually had to go get it off the rack myself because she wouldn’t bring it to me. That was super awkward. I didn’t buy it at the time because of all of the negative advice, but I ended up going with my gut and ordering one from Amazon after the two bras she pressured me to buy didn’t work. The Bravado has been my absolute favorite bra and I have ordered three more in different colors, all from Amazon since I don’t want to give Bosom Buddies any more of my money.
Also, I tried to buy replacement pump parts the first time I went to Bosom Buddies. I pointed out the parts that looked like the ones I was trying to replace, and the saleslady said, «No, no, no, nooooo… those are the wrong ones, you need these OTHER ones.» I bought the ones she suggested against my better judgment, then went home and tried to install them and they DID NOT FIT! I had to make a trip back to Lone Tree to exchange them. Some time had passed and she did not remember me (I don’t think) so we had the exact same «argument». She swore up and down that the parts I wanted would not fit my pump, and she sighed in frustration when I insisted that those were the ones I wanted. I got home and installed them and they fit perfectly. How frustrating!

This place was recommended to me by several people for great quality and service for, particularly, nursing attire.
I went to the store at about 34 weeks and about an hour before close. The woman who was to measure/​help me was rude. She told me I came in too early, but finally agreed to help me after I explained (every way I could) that women in my family all had babies between 3 – 7 weeks early and I wanted at least a start in post-​baby gear. I explained what I was looking for and she told me she figured it would be best to measure me OVER my THICK sweater, since I still had 8 weeks to go (I had already gone up almost 2 cups sizes in pregnancy, which I told her). I easily found a «comfort» bra and then tried on more supportive ones for work. When I put on the one she brought me and pretty much said was my only choice, it was LOOSE around, even on the TIGHTEST clasp. I stated that and she said I would get bigger, so I would want that. I tried to explain that I would like a smaller size and she said that would be a bad idea. Stupidly, and just feeling like an ignorant and inexperience mom-​to-​be (and feeling like I was horribly inconveniencing her, as the only customer trying anything on), I decided to take it. The bra was EXTREMELY expensive too — easily 3x what I usually pay for bras. I was so disappointed after having my son because it physically hurt to wear the bra because, even at my largest, it was still loose, so it shifted around on my body as I walked/​moved and chafed me so badly. I had a hard time wearing any bra or tank top because of the awful burned skin from the chafing.
While in the store that day, I also asked about the pump parts, since I used my sister’s pump that was not used much. After convincing the woman that, no matter how terrible of a Mom it made me (she told me all about how bad of a choice I was making sharing with my sister… just the machine… replacing the parts), she finally showed me the tubing and pieces I would need. I mentioned that I had heard the hospital would give me a free set of tubing, so I shouldn’t need to buy it. She went on about how bad of an idea that was because their sets are for the older model and would certainly break my sister’s machine. After deciding I had had enough «peer pressure» for the day, I decided against buying the pump tubing. When the hospital gave me the free set, I mentioned this woman’s comment and she pulled out a pair of scissors to cut off the extra clips on the ends of the tubes and they fit PERFECTLY. The sales woman was sooo sure she could lie and tell me how bad of a decision I was making that a pair of scissors could fix. Ugh.
I am sad I spent money there and allowed them to treat me soooo poorly. Don’t waste your time. They certainly know how to make you feel worthless.

Merchandise wise this store has a wonderful selection of maternity and nursing bras. Service wise this store has some of the poorest around.
I agree with the other posters who felt that they were not taken seriously due to how they looked. I’m 8.5 months pregnant, way past that point of trying to be a «cute pregnant lady» and happy being a comfy in my sweats pregnant lady. I went in (on the recommendation of a friend) durning mid afternoon on a week day and found 3 employees and one other customer. No «hello» or any other sign to acknowledge that I had walked in the store even though thy must have all seen me. So I start browsing around not totally sure what I needed but hopeful that they would be able to point me in the right direction. After standing around for at least 5 minutes without anyone asking me if I needed help I finally managed to flag a lady down, a lady who happened to be the owner. She didn’t seem to know the product very well and wasn’t all that pleasant to spend time with. She then disappeared for the duration of my time there. Now normally I would have left long before this point but I’d been putting off buying nursing bras for a while and I was starting to run out of time so after being ditched by the owner I managed to get the lady who seems to be in charge of fittings (again not pleasant) to pay attention to me. She gave me a quick measure and then pulled several things for me to try one. I told her there were certain styles that I knew for a fact would not work on me but she didn’t feel I knew what I was talking bout so I tried on several ill fitting bras before coming along one that was just what I needed. I can’t believe I spent money and supported this place but I was pretty desperate and couldn’t imagine going through the whole process all over again at another store. I’m curious what kind of treatment I would be met with if went in dressed in nice clothes, makeup, and a designer bag.

On the recommendation of a respected pal of mine, I decided to do some bra shopping here and «put my boobs in their hands,» so to speak. ;)
I’m glad my pal warned me that the place was mostly a maternity type store, but not to be frightened, there were things for us non-​maternal and not-​yet-​maternal types too.
It’s not the merchandise so much that impressed me, though that was outstanding too, but the service that blew my mind. I told them I was looking for a fitting and I was whisked right to the fitting room and the fun began. I was given bra after bra to try and asked how I liked it. I loved not having to comb through the racks and had the perfect over the shoulder boulder holder in less than 20 minutes.
The price was a bit steep, it’s true. I’m used to paying about half that for a new bra, but I have the distinct feeling that this is the best bra I’ve ever bought. Having the right bra is oddly exhilarating too, I’ve been asked if I’ve lost weight or something because these sweater puppies are looking great.
And no, pervs, I won’t show you my new purchase.

I visited Bosom Buddies on a busy Saturday. I was greeted warmly by Tanya, who led me to the back for a proper fitting. I was professionally measured and fitted, after trying on about 6 different bras. Tanya knew which brands and styles would fit best, and was attentive and professional the entire time.
My purchase was reasonably priced for bras of my size, and I’m happy with the fit. Tanya also said if I really loved the bra, I could call them and they’d order it in another color for me.
Overall, I experienced professional, courteous service with a bra that’s reasonably priced.

I always find it funny when ladies that work in retail have a huge chip on their shoulder. Pretentiousness has never impressed me and does not lead me to purchasing over priced items that can be purchased at a another store (down the road) for less. Yes, I shop in my sweatpants. Yes, I do not wear makeup when I go to the mall. However, I guarantee you that I have the means to purchase your wares. Please don’t treat me as though I do not. That is how you lost your sale.
