First of all I’d like to start off saying that people should head the advice in the negative reviews on here as a warning, I’m sure those who have good experiences have simple processes done but this is not a place to go for anything more then a quick touch up. In my 20 years of having my hair professionally done, I have NEVER had such a terrible disastrous experience anywhere and then was treated so poorly because I spoke up about it. I spent almost 5 hours in the chair, asking for strawberry blonde lowlights, which I have had done before with heavy foiled lowlights on top fading the color down the hair shaft. My hair is around a level 10 blonde, lightened and bleached– which I told the stylist. I was expecting her to put a level 8 golden copper into my hair in foils for lowlights. She told me she was going to bring some color down my roots and then blend the lowlights into my hair. I took her advice, not knowing what disaster awaited. After doing a clarifying treatment she started the process of putting color onto my roots and I expressed concern when it turned a very dark brown, which looked black against my very blonde hair. She told me not to worry it was just oxidizing. After washing the color out I literally had a mass of 3 inch ashy dark brown roots that immediately stopped and went to blonde, it looked terrible but she reassured me that she was going to highlight and lowlight my hair and blend it in. It was not even close to the color I had shown her. She proceeded to come back with a «balayage» set up which I had never asked for and she didn’t tell me about or make me aware of the price. After washing it out and blowdrying I was mortified. not only did it do nothing to «blend“anything but she had dropped random blotches of the dark brown hair dye down into random spots all over my head! It looked like my 3 year old niece had a go at my hair. I pointed out all the splotches and the obvious dark line of demarktation and she said «well the color will fade» «and yeah I see it bled a little bit».I was so stunned at how bad my hair looked that I checked out as quickly as I could and told her I expected her to fix it. she played it down like it wasn’t a big deal and proceeded to charge me $ 280! Not wanting to cause a scene I paid the bill and left crying all the way home, I called the manager right away and she told me she’d have me come in the next day and have the «artistic directer» fix my hair. I posted the pictures of my hair before and after for family and friends to see and everyone was shocked at how bad it was and that I was even made to pay anything let alone being robbed in the process. I was up all night with anxiety and tears about this. The next day the artistic director I met with was very condescending right off the bat and was defending the other stylist. She refused to use Olaplex on my now very damaged hair and couldn’t give me a clear reason why. After processing my hair another 2 times it still was not what I had asked for and now I just have copper roots. The worst part was she finished the cut of my hair I was supposed to have done the day before and they tried to charge me more money on top of the nearly $ 300 I paid for them to RUIN my hair! The front counter girl argued with me and told me I had to pay more, I told them I actually wanted a partial refund for what I had been put through, the damage they caused to my already compromised hair and how I got nothing like what I asked for, had to cancel plans to come back in and they had the audacity to ask for MORE money?! Any professional customer service based company would have immediately refunded me something in this situation without me even asking. I left without any refund and I don’t expect I will get one. I have never ever experienced such unprofessional money hungry crooks in my life. I will never ever go back to this place, and neither will anyone I know.

Had my brows waxed by Domonique and it was painless! They use a wax that hardens so it can be peeled off vs. the usual hot wax with strips! Pricing was that bad either. I have a coloring appointment here coming up so we’ll see how well they do balayage. Definitely a place to go if you need your brows taken care of!

Charlie is an absolute masterpiece artist when it comes to cut and color!!! He completely transformed my hair and I feel so fortunate to have found him! The salon is beautiful and efficiently run, online booking is great, I will be referring my friends. Thanks again Charlie for the sexy hair!

I have been to Salon Bogar for a pedicure, eyebrow wax and haircut/​highlight. Each experience was thoroughly enjoyable. The salon itself is high end and the décor is really nice. I had a signature pedicure with Heather. It was a truly relaxing hour. The chair is so comfortable and has many different massaging settings. Heather did a great job and I already can’t wait to go back. My brow wax with Jennifer was equally relaxing. The table was heated and soft. I felt very pampered and wish it could have gone on longer. I only wish that eyebrow threading was an option since I feel that the results last longer. I also had a haircut/​highlight with Ally. I am completely satisfied with the results. Ally also took time to show me different ways to style my hair and gave me different coloring options to consider in the future. It was also a pleasant surprise that the cost was $ 100 less than what I am used to paying in Boston. As an added bonus, you can book all appointments online. I have definitely found my new salon!

I have been going to Salon Bogar for the past 10 years and I love it! I even choose to drive from Boston back to New Hampshire because I love them that much! Every stylist that I have seen (Charlie and Krystle) has taken time to get to know me and what I like or do not like. Jennifer regularly does my brows and does a fantastic job, better than times I have has them done in the city! I will be devastated if I ever move away and can’t go to Salon Bogar!

I just want to say that Vicki is a lifesaver! I had a «hair emergency» and she was able to fit me into her busy schedule as soon as she possibly could. She fixed my hair (that I had gotten done at a different salon) with a terrific balayage treatment. The before and after is truly amazing! Everyone at Salon Bogar was so nice and welcoming and the environment was very pleasant to be in. I can’t wait to go back for my next appointment!

Watch out! They don’t stand by their work! All my neighbors go to Bogar so I went to Carrie and initially she did a great job with my highlights. After about a year she started pushing Balayage telling me it was lower maintenance and that she could paint it right on the hairline. Since I didn’t ask for a change, I assumed it would be similar to what I had and trusted her (big mistake!).
This last time she did a base color and a Balayage and it turned out extremely brassy with a reddish brown color on the temples and in the front. I paid my $ 250 and left hoping it wasn’t as bad as I knew it was. I was calling by the end of the day to get it fixed.
I went back to Carrie and she basically told me why I didn’t like my hair instead of letting me tell her why I didn’t like it. She put in a few highlights and a toner. They then told me I owed another $ 90! When I balked and reminded them I came back to have it fixed and I had just paid $ 250 not even 2 weeks ago they reduced it to $ 40. Disgusted, I paid it and left.
I called the manger Ellen because I was so shocked they charged me to fix it and after much back and forth it was clear to me that they didn’t believe me that I was just unhappy. The owner said I got what I agreed to, though he never bothered to actually speak to me. I just didn’t want to hate my hair after spending $ 250!
After talking with Ellen who was very helpful it was clear to me that I had been very misled (upsold?). Had Carrie explained Balayage clearly or shown me a picture I would never have agreed.
So long story short, I stayed with my last hairdresser for 12 years and by my estimate spent over $ 14,000. So if you guys need the $ 40 so bad, keep it. I will keep the $ 14,000 and go elsewhere.

moved here from Boston 2 years ago & have been trying to find a classy, talented, & high end hair salon ever since– even drove back home several times since I had so many bad experiences at NH hair salons. Hallelujah for Salon Bogar. I felt like I was on Newbury street again. Its always bustling & they carry great products too. I went to Brittany for bayalage color & she was fantastic. Super pricey for a salon up here but I am used to that & willing to pay it for their great work.

DO NOT go here for prom hair. I had 2 stylists do my hair and I hated it. The ladies looked old and grumpy and simply did not care about what I thought. It was terrible :(
Another time I got my eyebrows done here and the price was NOT what we were told over the phone because the lady used tweezers on me instead of wax. It was awful. She didn’t even do anything to my eyebrows despite me asking her to. I would never do that again. Prices are so high here. And why does tweezing cost more than wax? That doesn’t make sense.
The only thing saving this review is the fact that I LOVE Alexa and Crystal. Crystal actually saved my disastrous prom hair 2 years ago from a terrible stylist at Waters Edge and I couldn’t be more thankful for that. (She wasn’t available when I made my other 2 appointments) and Alexa is who I go to for my regular cuts now. I love her. She is so sweet and kind. She actually listens to what you want done with your hair and she is conservative when you tell her to take off as little as possible.
The prices here are very high, but I don’t mind tipping well to help support these girls.

It’s a bit pricey but I love Alexa! She’s really sweet and actually pays attention to what you want done.
DO NOT get your eyebrows done here. They did a terrible job and charged us a ridiculous price. It was something like $ 40 for a regular wax which was absurd. It doesn’t say that on the website, so they must have ripped us off. They didn’t even look good afterwards.

I LOVE THIS SALON! They are so good at what they do here and everyone is so nice! It is a drive for me but I am staying with these pros! If you are looking for a salon that does it all give Salon Bogar a try you will not be disappointed! I had a cut and color with Esmeralda and she knows her stuff. She gave me pointers and how to control my unruly hair, then had a blow out with Rose. She made my hair look amazing! LOVE U LADIES AT SALON BOGAR!

The staff here are wonderful and the job they do is fantastic. I always left feeling like a million bucks.
I’m something of a manicure snob, and I can honestly say that this place delivers hands down the best, neatest, and longest lasting gel manicure I’ve ever recieved in my life. Consistently perfect mani every single time. I mean P E R F E C T.
Services are slightly more costly than some salons I’ve been to but it’s well worth the price. I believe they started as a Dellaria, and they continue with the same price points for their services. Not cheap, but not crazy expensive either.
My fave stylist moved to NYC so I won’t be making the trip from Salem, MA up to Londonderry, NH anymore for pampering, but he will be sorely missed. It’s going to be a P in the A to find a comparable salon near me now.
EDIT: I meant Aveda! They started as an Aveda! Dellaria… What the what? Not even close. Lol. Oopsies. Sorry.

I don’t know what passes for 5 stars up here but they butchered my wife’s hair. She went for color and a blow out. She has curly hair and wanted it straight. The stylist didn’t realize she wanted it straight and started on «curly». My wife, considerate of those waiting, agreed to just have it done curly. Instead, it looked as if they gave her some kind of Trump comb-​over, Flock of Seagulls, electric shock look. I’ve never in my life seen hair done so poorly. I’m shocked that they’d let her leave their salon looking like this. Maybe they get lucky sometimes but she’s never going back.
One star only bc I’m not sure this post will show up without at least one star given.

I moved to NH from Los Angeles last fall and decided to take a chance in this place on account of the good reviews and I’m so glad I did! I got an AMAZING cut and full color with balayage highlights from Alexa (and have since been back for another cut and color touch up). She is young, but don’t let that deceive you — she is extremely talented and caring. I literally picked her off the website because I liked her name and hair color and she turned out to be a gem! Seriously her work is on par with high priced Beverly Hills salons without the 90 210 price. Love!

I’ve never been to a salon as amazing as salon bogar! Tracy is my stylist, she and the rest of the crew all have great customer service– They listen to what you want and don’t try to be pushy or snobby about anything.
Tracy has given me great hair care tips for inbetween cuts and colors and always shows me which products would be the best for me. not to mention my hair looks fabulous every time! This place definitely knows how to take care of their clients.

I’ve just found my new salon and stylist! I have straight hair and only go for a haircut. However, most stylists don’t seem to realize that it doesn’t mean I don’t want/​need a great cut. My stylist, Maria, is awesome. She listened to me and gave me exactly what I wanted.
If you go there the first time you can get $ 20 off a service. I also like that my stylist also washes my hair so I don’t have to tip twice. They don’t push products on you but do tell you what product they are using and how it works. I’ve been there twice and very happy with the service and my haircuts.
