I’ve been going to Takacs since I was a child, and I’ve never had a bad experience. Their scoops are huge, and they have such a large variety of ice cream treats and summertime favorites like hot dogs. They even have ice cream bowls for dogs with Milkbones! Prices are very reasonable, and the atmosphere reminds me of much more carefree days.

After passing this place multiple times on my way to and from the Prairie Grass Trailhead bike path, I decided to stop on a sunny Sunday.
Total throwback to the local ice cream shops of my childhood. The only thing missing to complete the early 1990s nostalgia was candy cigarettes and the little candy buttons that you peeled off paper.
I got a medium twirl cone with more sprinkles than I thought was possible to get on an ice cream cone for under $ 2. The medium was actually quite large.
They have a large menu, including sundaes. Really excited to go back– maybe knowing I have this treat to look forward to will make me pedal faster!
