I’ll start off by saying this was the ONLY Liquor store open within a 2 mile radius of my hotel at 10:45pm on a Saturday. Guess that’s Lompoc for ya.
I walked in and asked for some Sailor Jerry’s. The Syrian guy said sure and that I NEEDED a big bottle (1.75l). I asked how much and he said «$ 30, but for you $ 25.» I’ve never bargained for liquor before (at least here in the US), but I jumped at the opportunity. A bit of back and forth and we settled on $ 23 (its $ 20 at BevMo). Not too shabby. With the help of the guys at Highway 1 Liquor, the trusty sailor made our stay in Lompoc just a bit better.
