Embassy Suites Lompoc – Central Coast

It’s commendable the hotel is acknowledging their issues. However, Hilton’s customer service offered to reimburse me for only fifty percent of the total bill. I was so disappointed by this that I told them to disregard my complaint, I’m so disappointed with Hilton.

The staff is friendly and I love that they have a cook for breakfast making dishes to order… But I give minimal stars because I definitely got bug bites ALL over my body after staying here… Beware!!!

As with most Embassy Suites. this was clean and efficient. Check in was effortless and the staff pleasant. The rooms are cookie cuter same, but nice and spacious. Wifi was available and the breakfast was awesome. There was one chef that could run several orders at one time and get them all perfect. I was impressed. This guy is solid gold for the Hotel.

We only stayed the night and the staff, Randy & Natasha, made us feel welcomed! They went above and beyond and made our stay memorable.
We had a positive first impression when we walked in. The lobby is quaint and access to the rooms are from the outside, in the courtyard. Walking to our room, we noticed the swimming pool, hot tub, a small building located in the middle which served breakfast and the manager’s special. There was also a water feature and a nice garden towards the back. The rooms are one bedroom suites. It’s nice to check into the hotel and then have drinks and a snack offered to you. Breakfast the next day was nice touch. We were able to enjoy a nice breakfast in the morning.
I loved the fact that check in was easy! Being Hilton Honors members, you can check in online and pick your room! Basically, after you check in online, you walk into the hotel, tell them your name, and they hand you your card. It’s that easy!
The rooms are slightly older and you can certainly hear your neighbors. But the bed was comfortable.

I stayed here for 2 days and had a pleasant stay. I like the fact that I was able to check-​in ahead online and also pick a room of my choice. That was pretty cool.
The rooms are old and definitely needs to be upgraded, I believe they are in the process of doing that. The heater was also quite noisy and the walls were pretty thin. I had a disturbed sleep both the days due to the noise from the next room as well as the heater.
Made to order breakfast was good but nothing to be awed upon. I felt the options were limited and keeping it buffet style might have helped. I have stayed in other Embassy Suites before and have had much better breakfasts there.

On a positive note, Front Desk staff is efficient and friendly; and «Sonny’s Station» is the well-​run inclusive Breakfast and nightly Manager’s Special. Thumbs up for them, yay!
Unfortunately, the room was not so good. Yes, it’s a nice two-​room suite; and the bed was comfortable. But, it smelled and was not vacuumed, as it had crumbs under the table and a bobby pin and other items on the floor. So, it made the rest of the room SUSPECT which caused me discomfort while I wondered what else could be uncleaned. Boo.
The jacuzzi spa was not the right temperature. Boo.
Note to self and recommendation to others: Inspect the room before you use the towels or unpack. Boo. We shouldn’t have to do that, it should be a given that the room is vacuumed.

In general, I have been a fan of the Embassy Suites for most of my life and always opt to stay at one if I need a hotel (mostly because of the awesome included breakfasts).
That being said, this particular hotel is pretty old and outdated. The lobby is cute and the staff was nice. The king bedroom was clean enough and it’s always nice having a fridge, microwave and coffee/​tea maker. The furniture, however, looked dirty and old, although not enough to make me feel uncomfortable. I still had a great stay.
Breakfast was different from other Embassy Suites that I have been to. Most of the hot food was made to order by one chef who is the king of multitasking. If you want omelets or eggs, bacon, potatoes, pancakes, or french toast, you had to wait in a long line. At other Embassy Suites, most of those items are available via buffet and you can get it yourself and if you wanted an omelet, then you go to order from the chef.
Food only tasted O.K. but at least it’s hot food and better than just some cold pastries.
Overall, I would definitely stay again if I just needed one night. If I need more than that, I think I would look for a hotel in a different location.

To Golda in reference to your reply:
We have only received 1 certificate for a 2 night stay, so your statement saying we have received 2 certificates is false. Please address this issue and our relentless customer service calls for almost a month will stop. The ²⁴⁄₇ housekeeping service would have been excellent, but even when called to be reassured our rooms would be cleaned… they were not. I did not come back to the room with a do not disturb sign on the door, thus, discounting the argument made. Also, when my parents called for more towels and to complain of lack of service for the 2 previous days… housekeeping refused to take the trash telling them they need to call the front desk. I would love rate this establishment highly, but we haven’t received such customer service as described in your reply. My family and I are honest, hard working, and appreciative… to imply we are wrong and we have received complimentary coupons (2) for 2 nights is dishonest and violates your strong mission, vision, and values statement.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are classic two-​room suites that Embassy Suites has come to be known for. I only give 4 stars because the rooms are in obvious need of updating. However, the staff is friendly and the room price includes a fantastic made-​to-​order breakfast as well as complimentary happy hour for two hours in the evening. How can you beat that? I’d also like to give a special mention to Sonny who made our stay especially enjoyable. Tip him well, folks!

Got in late from LAX and was pleasantly surprised by the lush tropical oasis vibe in morning enroute to breakfast, which was incredible. Cooked to order omelette, French toast bacon juices pastry.
Two room suite spacious but dated– and smells moldy. They are working on rounding up a fresher smelling room now.
In room coffee bar, fridge, living room, desk and a double fold out bed.
Pool, hot tub, cocktail reception nightly. Usually $ 100-​$ 120, bargain with breakfast.

It would of been perfect. but…
Anyways I arrived here with a group of 30+ people. We come here to stay for our exotic car show. The first rooms they had given us which I asked to be next to each other were pretty poor locations in the building. I asked to get different rooms and they were able to change them right away (thank you!). Next we got in our room and we realized the AC doesn’t work.
Skip back to last year and the Jacuzzi didn’t work either. I feel like there’s always something that doesn’t work here. Regardless the man at the front desk offered a fan and asked if he could do anything else (yes please make sure all the rooms amenities especially something like an AC works. That’d be ideal)
Let’s skip forward to the breakfast. You really can’t go wrong here with the breakfast. You’ve got an amazing selection and the cook is really cool. Makes some mean pancakes and omelets that’s for sure!
Would I stay here again? yeah sure. But this time I expect to get the exact rooms I asked for 5 months in advance with a working AC and all other amenities.
Either way I enjoyed my stay thanks to some very helpful staff members and an awesome breakfast each day.

We stayed at this hotel as a part of a wedding — room block. We called ahead to see if we had the option of checking-​in early and the girl on the phone kindly told us yes. We ended up not using the early check-​in but it was nice to have the option. The room was clean and very spacious. It’s nice to have a refrigerator and sink in the room as well. We also enjoyed that there was 2 TVs in the room.
The only issue we had was that the A/​C wasn’t working. By the time we got back to our room that night it was too late to call for any sort of maintenance. We mentioned this at check-​out and the girl gave us a credit on an already reasonably priced room. We didn’t even have to fight for it, she was super helpful.
The hotel isn’t exactly surrounded by amazing sites but it was a great place for having wedding guests.

Overpriced.
This particular embassy suites is on the run down side of things. Do not expect much from this place. Smelly and dirty. But it’s very clearly at the bottom end of the Hilton scale. The staff was friendly enough but the room was tired and basic. The AC unit in our room was permanently on and the controls had been tampered with TV didn’t always work and the free Wi-​Fi sucks. Seems the whole place smells like mildew or mold. I was afraid to leave my bags around for fear of bed bugs or something.
The free breakfast was plentiful but it’s free so don’t expect a festival of gourmet treats. Free and basic fits the bill.
Will never return.

I stayed at the hotel recently as part of a wedding block for a friend’s wedding at a nearby winery. The winery was FANTASTIC. This hotel? Not so much. Upon arrival at 10:45a, we tried to check in early. The front desk agent told us that our room was in fact ready but we would have to pay $ 18 to check in early. We thought that was pretty crazy, seeing as she already told us the room was ready. She then decided to cut it down to $ 10. Yay I guess?
The room was pretty dingy smelling, and dark overall. We looked directly out to a dumpster from the second floor but I guess there really are no nice views here. The furniture was kinda old and ugly, with nothing matching. The bed was comfortable though.
Walls are super thin here. You can really hear everything. Also, the bathroom is very small and strange, with the very low sink outside the toilet/​shower room, and actually in the bedroom, over the carpet. Kinda gross. The bathroom was tiny too.
The breakfast was good but for it being a weekend, they only had one guy (who was amazing) working the line. You’d think they’d have other grab and go stations with go-​tos like bacon, pancakes, sausage, etc. but no you had to wait in the long line… about 20 mins.
The pool area was nice but there were no pool towels and they were never refreshed while we were out there (for about an hour).
I don’t think I’d choose to come back here unless I had to do. It needs some serious upgrading.

Stayed 2 nights with bed bugs biting everywhere on my body. Went to front desk but Clerk said no other rooms available.
I left with bitter memories but it was not all.
After couple of weeks later, at my house, my bed room need treatment with bed bug killer.
It is terrible situation now. Tomorrow morning I have to go to Home Depot to buy bug killer.
This hotel need more attention to the housekeeping. My wife found long hairs on the pillow and the sheet more than five. They send guy change the sheet late that night.
Other than that, it was alright, good breakfast.

My friend and I stayed for one night at this property this past weekend for our college roommate’s wedding (which was at a nearby winery). I have worked for an Embassy Suites property in Los Angeles for 5 years, so I know what to expect when staying at another ES property. Unfortunately, I don’t have great things to report. We checked in early around 11am; the front desk was friendly but told us that I had signed up for some sort of early check in program (which consists of an $ 18 fee). I haven’t been in the hotel industry for 2 years now, so I was unaware of this new function. I told her I wasn’t aware that I had signed up for anything. She asked me if I still wanted to check in early and pay the $ 18. I wasn’t going to just hang around till 3pm in Lompoc where there isn’t much to do, so I agreed. After a few moments, she said she would only charge me $ 10– so I guess that was nice.
Anyway, we went up to our room which was on the 2^nd floor. The lay out of all the rooms was a bit strange but I felt the courtyard ambiance was okay– the water feature was nice and the pool looked inviting. I was actually really happy to see an outdoor pool as many of the ES properties have indoor pools. Upon entering our room, I’d have to say that it smelled really weird. There was poor air circulation and the air was musty. We walked in and checked everything out and all of the regular in-​room amenities were there (fridge, microwave, tv etc.) The only thing that was really strange was how the bathroom sink was literally in the bedroom area, so after you use the restroom you have to walk into the bedroom to wash your hands. The actual bathroom area was so tiny with a tub and toilet. It was just very strange and didn’t make much sense. The fan inside the bathroom area was incredibly loud and definitely needs to be replaced. The furniture looked very worn and nothing matched. The only thing I would complement is the bed, which was very comfortable.
We headed out to the pool area and there were no pool towels. We were out there for about 45 minutes and no one ever replenished them. We left for the wedding around 4pm and was back around 10:30pm. Again, it was hot in our room, without much circulation even though we left our thermostat set at 67 degrees.
The next morning we headed down to the complimentary breakfast. The gentleman running the omelette line was absolutely amazing! He could take up to 3 guest orders and remember all of the ingredients off the top of his head. Considering he didn’t have anyone to help him, the line moved fairly quickly. I was also impressed with the amount of seating available and it wasn’t too crowded, which was nice.
Overall, it was a short stay and nothing was horrible but it definitely is time for a face lift!

We stayed one night in Lompoc on our way between LA and SF. We chose it because it’s hard to get s good room rate in Santa Barbara or its immediate surrounds for just one night in the summer season. $ 175 for a Super 8 or $ 369 for a 3 star place plus parking? I’ll go a little further afield, thank you very much, to save a dime.
Here we were treated to a free bar — it went until 7:30 but I’m not sure when it started. We had stay at ES’s in other places and remembered a complementary but unexciting wine and cheese happy hour. Here though, it was at a whole new level. Several local beers, Jim Beam, Sauza and more, generous pours and no limits. Hello! Plus, a nacho bar and poolside sitting. Breakfast was made-​to-​order omelettes, bacon, sausage, pancakes and the lesser regular continental fare, too. What a steal!
Our room was spacious, with a nice layout, soft bedding, high quality pillows, and soft towels.
We had just stayed at the Millennium Biltmore in LA and remarked that this was MUCH BETTER.
Finally, everyone was super friendly and helpful, including the maintenance man. We drove ninety minutes north before realizing we had left something in the room. A quick call to their front desk and they are on it! Without even needing to ask, the woman who answered volunteered to fetch it, mail it and made it all simple with my address and credit card already on file. Someone give her a prize!

Probably one of the worst experiences be had in recent history. Came up to Lompoc from LA for the weekend to go and visit some winery’s, eat some good food, and relax away from the city. While my wine and food were great, the relaxing and the hotel were not.
First of all, the hotel was not a motel. It was an oversized motel at best. It was like a Super 8 on steroids or something. Nothing was right about this hotel — from the layout of the hotel, to the security of the rooms. The layout of the room was weird, the air conditioning didn’t work, and the décor was like something from the Bates Motel.
I’m a simply guy, I don’t ask for much — but one thing I do expect when I stay in a hotel is the right to relax. However, some degenerates next door decided to throw some sort of party on theSaturday night (which I’m pretty sure isn’t allowed) and would make so much noise for so many hours that in the end, we gave up and drove back to Los Angeles in the middle of the night — one day before we were due to checkout. Goodness knows what they were up to next door, but it was so bloody loud. We did call down to the front desk and they said they would send security to talk to the people next door. One hour had passed and no security showed up. Terrible.
I don’t know enough about Lompoc to know what kind of people that it attracts, but I certainly feel like Embassy Suites has a big enough reputation to not stand for immature youngsters making excessive noise well into the night.
But wait, there’s more. I’ve saved the best for last…
The only saving grace for this place was that the breakfast was free. So the entire hotel is outside. And in the middle of this hotel is a giant pond that they claim to be a «botanical garden». Only its not a botanical garden, it’s a pond. A pond full of frogs. Frogs that croak non stop all through the night. Who puts bloody frogs in the middle of the hotel?! What’s wrong with you?!
The only good thing about this place was the free breakfast.
Seriously. Don’t come here. Go and stay in Solvang where everything is adorable and Danish.

The bad. The room was dirty and dusty it smelled like mildew mixed with cig smoke. The property is old – which is an understatement.
The ugly. Our linens in the room was dirty. Floor plan was weird. Interior design, upkeep and overall ambiance was horrible.

Wasn’t sure what to expect but being that I’m a Hilton honors member I expect a certain standard when it comes to their brands. This location is off what seems to be the main strip of the town. There is plenty of parking in front of, on the sides, and in back. There is also a drive up area if you need to drop off your bags. The lobby is rather dark and small. The staff greeted us very warmly and got us checked in with no problem and told us about complimentary hot breakfast and manager reception in the evenings in the lounge area. Nice!
Once we left the lobby/​check in desk, you walk through this open air court where there was a pond and fountain. There was also the pool and hot tub. This place looks a little dated but isn’t horrible. We were on the first floor of the 3 store hotel. We had a suite. When you first walk in there is a table with two chairs, couch, TV, TV stand, and a Kitchenette. The back room is the king bed which is own so comfortable, an armoire, TV and the bathroom. It was an ok room. Every thing is very outdated and it just need upgrading minus the bed and TVs.
The manager reception doesn’t have many choices but is nice choice for those staying for some snacks. Breakfast was much better. The worker who is preparing breakfast is AWESOME! He remembers everyone’s order and is multitasking to get it all right. Kudos to him. Both days we got omelettes, potatoes, and bacon. Was glad to have this option so we could take our time getting ready and not having to rush to get breakfast off the premises and save some cash.
Overall it was an ok experience at this hotel. It wasn’t my worse experience, but not my best. For the price paid it was worth the money paid. I will say that the hand written thank you card they mail out thanking us for our stay was a nice touch.
