At an early age I learned the painting trade from one of the finest Custom painters I have ever known while I was going to Long Beach State and working in Beverly Hills. I loved the way he painted and he taught me everything he knew about painting. He was my inspiration to get into the art of Custom Painting. I moved back east and started a Custom Painting Company in Washington DC. I serviced the surrounding areas such as Alexandria Virginia and Bethesda Maryland. I started out doing mostly interior and exterior custom work in churches, apartment buildings and houses. My specialty was renovating colonial homes with oil base finishes. I moved back to Lompoc in 1998 and I started at Vandenberg Air Force Base painting and sand blasting. I saw a need for a honest and reliable company that people could rely on for truthful estimates, timely completion and excellent quality workmanship. Thus, Charles Whitmore Custom Painting was established.
