This place is a bunch of crooks runs unauthorized credit checks front desk are a group of uneducated girls that don’t have much knowledge besides how to operate there phone while your waiting 2 hours past your appointment time would not recommend this place to my worst enemy I know now to do more research when looking for a dentist not worth the headache and frustration to deal with a over priced dentist that work is mediocre at best

I will never go back to this place dirty dental instruments and a bad attitude. I’m glad I walked ASAP! I will never go BACK

I was scheduled for an exam and cleaning much needed because i haven’t been to the dentist in a year and a half due to insurance.
The good news is they got to me in a fair amount of time. The guy doing my xrays was kind and efficient.
The dentist examined my teeth and then said they’d have to reschedule my cleaning because they were backed up.
Their overbooking is now my problem… really?
All the receptionists were busy so they said they would have to call me to schedule. Ridiculous.
Update they just called me with the quote and are planning on charging me for another office visit when i come back for the cleaning they are rescheduling.
Because they don’t guarantee any service scheduled when you are a new patient.
That should be in their slogan…

My fiancées appt was at 2pm. Called him in 20 minutes and had him sitting in the room waiting and was not seen by the dentist till 315! No joke! Front desk are very unprofessional with no sense or urgency to help/​answer my questions.

This is the worst dentistry ever! No exaggeration.
I had my first child this summer. It’s known that you can lose calcium during pregnancy and your teeth may become weak; more prone to cavities. My teeth were hurting and very sensitive. So, I went here for a check-​up and cleaning.
They did x-​rays and the assistant did a quick polish. I was like, «Is the DENTIST going to CLEAN my teeth because that’s what I came in for? And no one has gone over the x-​rays.»
After about 20 minutes, the dentist came over and did the worst cleaning ever. She barely scaled, was preoccupied, and left without a word. She said that she suspects that I need a crown AFTER I told her that the tooth really hurt. After the dentist left, I asked the assistant, «Is that it?» She said, «I guess so.»
What in the world?! No one went over my x-​rays. Cut from July 29, 2015 to a couple of weeks ago. I didn’t think anything of it because if there was anything major, at least any dentist would notice, right? WRONG.
My teeth were still in pain and worsened. So, I went to another dentistry, AVALON DENTAL. I got another check-​up and told them my symptoms. Everyone was so thorough.
Lo’ and behold… I had major tartar buildup (shown on the computer screen close up) which proves that the Western Dental dentist never cleaned my teeth. Also, I had THREE CRACKED TEETH. The dentist said, «Your three cracked teeth are why you’re feeling pain.»
Long story short, NEVER GO TO THIS LOCATION OF WESTERN DENTAL. They are like a McDonald’s and DO NOT CARE. They are irresponsible! If I had not taken it upon myself to get my teeth checked again, who knows what I would’ve needed later!

It’s sad to see when you go into a dental office all the employees up front our playing on their phones and not doing the work how can you be working somewhere getting paid and your playing on your phone that’s supposed to be a professional place of business so that tells you how professional the employees are in there very unprofessional

Beware do not go to this place. I walked in to get my teeth cleaned they said oh we have a promotion and it’s free for x-​rays your cleaning will be $ 89. I said OK could you possibly take me right now. She went to the back was gone forever she returned and she said we can take you today and I asked if she can take me right now she says it’s going to be $ 89 for the sign-​up fee and x-​rays and $ 89 for cleaning she was really rude. What happened to the promotion??? Beware they rescind their promotions once you arrive. Rude rude and rude!

This office has to be the most unprofessional dental establishment I have ever been to. If you want to waste your day and kill a few hours and resolve absolutely nothing, then this is the place to go. I called and made an appointment at 12:45pm and confirmed it. I got there and then they tell me, oh we moved your appointment to 1:45pm. Like an idiot I stayed and waited. Then I was called back to do my x-​ray. I then waited in the backroom in a dental chair til about 2:50pm when the dentist was finally ready to grace herself into the room. Thanks for nothing. I went and made an appointment with a much more legitimate dental office.

Officially the worst dentist office ever! The service is terrible. And after 18 months of treatment, my daughter’s teeth are still crooked. Even though I tried to make things right, Dr. Heather Desh LIED and said that my daughter did not wear her retainer.
1. Western Dental is made up of a LIARS and CHEATERS.
2. Western Dental uses intimidation tactics to get you to sign documents that allow them to mess up without fear of retribution.
3. 50% of the front office staff are very rude and bordering on mean.
I got played like a fool. My family and I will be going to a REAL ORTHODONTIST from now on. DO NOT GO TO WESTERN DENTAL! They have low ratings for a reason.

The DMV of dentists. Nobody introduces themselves as your passed from person to person. Very cold, assembly line feel. I had to come back after my first time after waiting 1 hr. The second time I waited only 20 min but then waited 45min for a cleaning. The assistant who took my X-​rays, the patient coordinator, and the male hygienist at the end were all pleasant. The «dr.» M**** (female) had terrible bedside manner. I said that I had sensitive teeth secondary to gum recession to everyone who asked me. Her first statement when I tried signaling I was in pain & as my eyes watered up was «the other doctor is stuck in traffic so we have to get this done». She probably worked on my teeth for less than 1 min. I don’t know which was more painful the nerve pain or the lack of empathy. I work in healthcare & I do it because I love helping people – when you’re doing what you love it shows & your patients feel better in you’re care. I don’t get that feeling from this dentist.
I need two crowns but I would never recommend having work done here. I will pay out of pocket to return to Torrance Dental Associates.

I came here cause my dental insurance covered it, but if this is your case don’t do the same (if this place is one of the only places your insurance covers then don’t bother even having it). Go somewhere else even if you have to pay out of pocket. They are unprofessional and don’t to a good job. If you get a cleaning here rest assured you’ll need one just as much the next day and possibly even gum reconstruction as they will seriously damage them. Like other people say the talk during all your dental procedures which is not only annoying, but also unprofessional and they will not hesitate to squirt water all over your face and clothing attire as they are not even paying attention.
They are always rushed and overbooked as if going to the dentist isn’t bad enough they will make your experience 10x worse. People working there are just as bad and rude as the DMV employees, so look forward to that. If you need a filling or anything else done believe that you might need to have it re-​done immediately as they are not looking out for the patient, but instead just checking off their to-​do lists. Also, I would recommend that you at the very least get a second opinion before you let touch your teeth because they just see your as revenue.

Oh Unilocal,why didn’t I check you before making an appointment with this place? Do I really have to give a star? First clue I should have gone elsewhere was when I called for an appointment. I had spent a few hours researching dentists who accepted both my dental plans. With my research in hand I called the appointment line and had the unfortunate experience speaking to a gal who either was sick or in serious need of a swift kick of caffeine as she was the most monotoned person I have ever spoken to. She didn’t listen to me when I told her what location I wanted to go to but when she finally got it into her sleeping brain she informed me that the location didn’t accept my insurance. I proceeded to name the dentists by name so she could double check and then magic happened. They suddenly did accept my insurance. This process took me 20 minutes of my life that I will never get back. Cleaning dingle berries off my dogs butt would have been more pleasant than speaking with this scheduler. Ms. I Lack Any Motivation proceeded to tell me that she would email my appointment confirmation (which I never got) and that I should go online and complete the new patient forms prior to my appointment. Keep in mind I provided all my insurance information at the time of this call. Moving along to the day of my appointment… So here I go to my appointment, completed novel of new patient paperwork in hand. My hands are stained because I used up so much ink printing the paperwork/​novel that I had to replace my ink cartridges. But I digress … I check in and am told that the paperwork I have spent what feels like 15 hours printing and completing is the wrong paperwork. I informed Ms. Pleasant Attitude that I got the forms directly off this particular facilities website she said, it’s wrong and the doctors need these forms completed. I am then handed a clipboard of paperwork/​novel to complete AGAIN. I look down at the paperwork and notice every page is in Spanish. Ugh. Pretty sure I was just speaking to you in English. So I get my new clipboard with English questions. I complete the pages again (poor Mother Earth– she is weeping for all her tree children killed today). Funny, I noticed ONE additional question on the paperwork… ONE!!! Moving along. I was «entertained“while sitting in the waiting room because I got to watch two unattended children playing. These children watched as a lady left the building (she didn’t acknowledge the children) several minutes later the older of the two, maybe about 5 years old, told the younger child „it looks like Mom is really going to leave so let’s go“ and both darted out the doors without a care in the world and across the parking lot to „mom“ getting in her car. The front desk staff didn’t blink an eye… Perhaps that’s a common occurrence. My X-​Ray tech was nice enough. The dentist, who I don’t know her name because she didn’t tell me and didn’t even come around the chair to say Hi, seemed rushed and wanted to be anywhere but at work. She seemed annoyed that I mentioned my tooth pain. She jabbed around in my mouth with her torture stick and said everything looked fine and that was before she looked at my X-​Rays. I know for a fact my old silver filling is going bad (my old dentist told me so but I didn’t have time to have work done prior to my move here) but she said „it’s fine and I can’t see under the filling to tell for sure but it is fine. Come back in a week if it still hurts (ummm no thanks. You aren’t coming close to my mouth again). Time for the cleaning… I thought to myself How bad can a cleaning be? I should have jumped out of that chair and ran for my life but, no apparently I wanted to see how stupid this appointment could get. I’m told to wait a few minutes as they had questions on my insurance. Huh? Why? This lovely office called me three or four hours prior to my appointment to confirm all my insurance PRIOR to my visit, even thou I gave it to caffeine-​less scheduler upon my first call. So I waited. Finally a lady comes back and tells me my insurance will cover my cleaning. Two ladies come in, they don’t seem to know what each other is doing. One, the newest of the newbies, drops something on the floor and picks it up to hand it over to the other. She looked like she was going to just set back on her „tray“ but I made eye contact making sure she didn’t. All the while they are both watching what Dr. Oz has to say on the TV located in the exam room. One of the gal squirts water all over my face and then proceeds to set the „suction wand“ on my cheek. Meanwhile water is dripping down both sides of my mouth. The cleaning was only 10 minutes and was the worst teeth cleaning I’ve ever had. Another employee comes in and proceeds to have a debate as to what is better Costco or SAMs Club and who has better brownies. The gal „cleaning“ is also complaining about someone and says“ I’m a grown Ass Women» and then starts speaking Spanish. Never coming back!

I have been here several times for teeth cleaning and they do ok with that. But the girls in the front desk are so dumb, when I made my first payment they put it under a different account. Then the corporate office was bugging me saying I havent made a payment, when I DID! Also, the orthodontist told me I couldnt get invisalign, so I went to another orthodontist and he told me YES! I now wear invisalign, good thing I didnt listen to them and went somewhere else. They seem very dumb and not well experience. I also needed my wisdom teeth along with my superneal teeth pulled, and yet I get called saying they want to schedule me to come in, but when I asked if the oral surgeon can do it, they said no. They are all over the place, they drag me back and forth. I wont be returning to this office anymore.

If anyone is deciding to get braces there is no better person to go to than Dr. Heather Desh she’s the best! Even if she decides to open her own practice or not she does amazing work !! She is totally worth commuting 40 min for to get my treatment done this office is clean quick and affordable. 5 star all around even the staff is great.

NEVER going back. Spend more than 2 hours on X-​rays, check up and cleaning. When the dentist finally got around to doing the cleaning, it was rushed and not thorough. It’s unfortunate that I used my medi-​cal coverage on this visit. My fault for not doing more research on this place before I went. Would not recommend to anyone. One would think that a place with this much business would have great customer service and quality dental care.

Ive had to see a lot of dentist in my life for several different things I mean ALOT ive had to have just about all my teeth filled or capped ive had braces twice once when I was 9 – 12 then when I was 14 – 18 ive had teeth try to grow straight out from my gum into my lip, out of the roof of my mouth (behind the rest of my teeth) baby teeth that refused to fall out so had to be surgecly removed and 4 completely side ways impacted wisdom teeth that required major oral surgery for nobodies fault but genetics. So long story short I know about dentist and ive seen a lot of them.
But Never have I been moved from chair to chair 5 to 7 times for each little thing or been to an office with dead bugs on the floor.
After I had explained that I have really bad teeth and that after so much dental work I really don’t like going to the dentist I was made into a side show act where several nurses, office assistants and other doctors where called over to see the size of a cavity I had then shown it on x-​rays to people that had no business seeing it.
I was then taken to I think my 4^th chair a small room with a TV and told to relax and that I would be numbed up to have it filled. The Dr. had absolutely no compassion for my fear of needless or dentists and she got upset and told me I had to hold still and that she didn’t have time to wait for me to calm down.
I guess she didn’t have time for me to become numb after the shot also because I had to physically grab her hand to make her stop poking at the cavity. She then told me I should feel numb and what I was experiencing in pressure. I said NO I FEEL PAIN! I CAN FEEL YOU POKING ME, IT HURTS! CAN WE WAIT A MINUTE?! she said well I guess I can numb you again and she did. Then when I was somewhat numb she began to drill and I started to feel like I was going to throw up. I stopped her and told her. She said well your just going to have to deal with it.
A few minutes later when I started to dry heave a man came over and told them to stop working on me. He must have been a Higher up of some sort because she refused to take what ever was in my mouth out so I could talk to him and tell him the shit they had been pulling.
When they did take the stuff out of my mouth I was then allowed to go to the bathroom and rinse my mouth out when I came back I asked to go home and come back another day.
While filling the hole she made, we noticed together I no longer had the ability to open my mouth completely. Instead of numbing my gum and tooth she numbed my jaw muscle and had to use this rubber block that «they usually only have to use for children» to keep my mouth open.
While this was going on the Man from earlier walked by and asked how things where going she Told him I was having a hard time keeping my mouth open «probably because of nerves» She would not remove the block so that I could speak to him again.
She then wrote me a prescription for Pain Killers and Antibiotics and I went home for almost a week I was in constant pain no longer from my cavity but from the needle she used to «numb» me.
I WILL NOT BE RETURNING AND I SUGGEST YOU DONT ETHER!!!

One hour and 35 minutes waiting with appointment! This is way to much! I don’t see the point of making appointments, wait a couple day to go sit and wait this much! I left the place because I didn’t want to wait any longer

Customer Service stinks. Could not get a Saturday appointment for my daughter, they only offered weekday evenings. This was when my daughter was 18 months old. Probably the worst time of day for her to be expected to sit still. On top of it, took them 30 minutes to call us back, once they did it took another 45 minutes for the dentist to peer into her mouth and tell the hygentist she was fine… Sorry, we didnt mean to take up your time and bother you. We wont be back.

This review is for Ortho. I was transferred to this location by an awesome «higher up» named Alicia. I assume she works at corporate and she’s the best person WD has. I expressed every issue I had with them so they could fix it. Sadly I won’t be around to see if any changes are made but I hope things change.
So, the actual orthodontist was great but she didn’t even seem like she was going to invest her career with WD as she was talking about her own private practice. So are all WD orthos noobs? Doesn’t say much for WD. They pack so many people into appointment slots that these orthos can’t get enough time with you even if they wanted to. If you’re there, like I was for an hour, you may see the Dr for all of 10m. You are left to ask questions to assisting staff that should be answered by the ortho. Regardless Heather D (the ortho) was really trying and her customer service skills were great. For her and the woman who did my x-​rays, they get 5 stars but I have to rate the entire experience. The reception staff was mediocre at best. Marty, the sales guy felt the need to tell me 3x that I needed to pay them. He would not get up out of his glorified glass cubicle to speak with me other than when I got there. If you read my other review about their Anaheim location I knew what was owed. The check had been ready since WD screwed up last time. I think they thought I was going to high tail it out of the office. I ended up finding out that I didn’t even need to pay that day. But I digress, I had to go out of my way to greet the staff and to be fair ONE person out of all the assisting staff said hello.
Anyways, I’m so happy to say that once I get my retainers and follow Dr. D’s rules I will be done with WD. I feel sorry for people who don’t have the option or education to know that they can go elsewhere. All I can say is be your own advocate. Do your research and ask tons of questions even if you think they’re dumb. I can’t blame WD completely because it was my choice to go there. Coulda, woulda, shoulda went elsewhere. If your price difference between going to a well rated private practice dentist/​ortho is a few hundred bucks, then save your pennies and go to the private practice. If you choose to use WD do your research. There is a reason why all the locations have poor ratings. WD (not this location) ruined my teeth… I’m anal about my teeth so any damage is a detriment. I was told that I was doing things properly the whole time I had braces and when I went to get a second opinion OMG bad news. Avoid WD like the plague for your basic dental needs and possibly ortho if you can until they can earn better ratings. This goes for all locations. They have serious communication issues. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I would hate for anyone to go through what I did. They have a lot of issues to fix. For as large of a company as they are, WD should be ashamed. They are very capable of fixing these problems so I will update with better news if I happen to come across it.

I just got accepted to Medi-​cal… Praise the teeth gods and fairies for hooking me up– I’ve had a terrible toothache for 3 weeks now and desperately needed to be here.
I’m not sure what’s with all the negative reviews on here– this place is awesome. Clean facility, friendly staff and the BEST part: NO WAIT TIME.
I forgot to fill out the new patient forms before my appointment (they email them to speed up the paperwork process) plus I was 10 – 15 minutes late. Despite all of this, I was seen in 10 minutes after showing up.
This is not at all what you’d expect for free dental care.
I’m grateful. This office is a winner!
