Pep Boys

I was not a fan of Pep Boys since I used the one on Elston in the city. After moving, I thought I would give them another try for a quick oil change and wiper replacement. Steve, the AM, was quick to get me in and started. After inspecting my vehicle they came back with recommendations. I first thought «Oh great, they are trying to sell me something». My axle was cracked and my tires were worn and mismatched. What impressed me was that the mechanic even inspected my spare and told me it was flat and blown and the rim was bent. Obviously in the four years I have owned this car, no other mechanic did this as I have never used the spare. They priced me for tires but even suggested I go to a junk yard to get a new rim for cheap. They also suggested I return to the place I bought the tires for the warranty. No high pressure or shady sales tactics. Finally Steve made sure I had the pep boys rewards (which I did) for the discounts on tires and service.
So being impressed I returned to have the axle fixed a week later. Imagine my surprise when the repair was $ 60 LESS than the quote. Never. Happens. Finally, Steve called the day after my repair to thank me for my business.
I highly recommend this place, Steve runs it like a local shop with loyal customers but they have the large chain specials and discounts. Win-​win.

I ordered a special sale item online for store pick up, after work I went in and my merch was waiting there for me! they applied my pepboys rewards online so i didnt have to find a card. it was very simple easy and straight forward. I also notice that the store is very neatly organized and clean, staff is very helpful. Have yet to try out the auto service center here.

I went in again today for an oil change and follow up visit. One again I was very impressed. The manager Jim and the mechanic (not sure of his name) took great care of me. They got me in and out for my oil change in great time. I will continue to return for the foreseeable future.

On 11÷2÷2013 at 1215 pm I got to listen to a great five minute conversation from the associate who was on personal call and ignoring me as I stood in the store right in front of him. I got to hear about how much he disliked his job and how everyone quits. Also about how he is trying to sell his house and what him minimum requirements were for a Realtor would be for him to consider signing a contract with him. I really enjoyed it when after making several attempts to get his attention as to cause the least interruption to his personal call, I just walked out and he told the person on the other line that some guy just walked in… He offered his time to help me as he walked through the parking lot just in time to see me lug my flat tire into the back of my car. I insisted i did not want to bother him and concurred, that pesky customers do get in the way with all their money and problems they want to throw at you.
I originally rolled my flat tire tire into get a plug and be on my way but I could not get it done here for the above reason. The nice folks at Discount Tire a few miles away while a million times busier, actually took the time and said they could plug the tire but took depth measurements on the rest of tires and pointed out uneven wear and additional cracks in the side wall and recommended i just get into to some new tires. They made me a great deal and within 2 hours, I was driving out on some new tires!

Came here to change a two tires on my minivan before going on a road trip to New York. Service was absolutely horrible. It took about three hours for them to actually finish the job. On the trip to New York, about half way I hear a rumbling from the front tire. The lug nuts were loose and the tire was about to come off. When we came back to the Pep Boys because the tire was losing air, I also mentioned they did not do a proper job of putting on the tires… all i got was an «OK», no apology, no refund, nothing. He just kept saying OK… Anyways they wouldnt even fix the tire which was under warranty and had to pay $ 30 to reseal the tire. This place is a fraud and joke

Very professional. I was truly impressed with their willingness to discuss and collaborate instead of just pushing on services and products like many other mechanics tend to do. Will definitely return if the need arises.

A few weeks later I noticed that my hubcaps had not been replaced correctly from this job so that the valve stem was not even accessible on half of them. When I initially called I was given no apology by the manager, but when I brought it in Ruben put the hubcaps on correctly and gave me a full refund with an apology. In all, two hours of my time was much more than I expect for a simple oil change and rotation, but I am glad they made it right eventually. I just hope the other work that I cannot see was done correctly.

Had my jeep grand cherokee serviced here twice with major work done. All the staff is very professional and Kind. They do great work!

I’ve had a lot of various work done on my two vehicles (including buying new tires) over the last year or so. Randy and his staff have always been great to deal with. They are honest, explain repair options, and get the job done in a reasonable time. I would definitely recommend this Pep Boys location!
