I’m giving them five stars because I delivered two very happy, healthy babies with LLUMC.
Both my pregnancies were high risk, and I never felt like an issue was being overlooked. Quite the opposite! Sometimes I felt like they were seeing me too much, but when it comes to the healthy of your unborn baby, it’s better to err on the side of caution.
Sure there were times when my wait was long and times when I drove an hour only to find out that no once called to tell me that my appointment was cancelled due to an unauthorized referral, but stuff like that happens. From emergencies to technical problems (LLUMC was switching to a paperless system), all kinds of things can prolong your wait.
The most important thing is that my doctors were fantastic and care given to my and my babies was excellent.

Maybe the doctors are good — but they haven’t solved my issue? But most of all I HATE the late policy… 15 mins late. Got here at 915 not 900, told they can still see u, «oh good cause I drove an hour to be here»…
It’s now 12! Been in the room freezing my ass off. Don’t want to leave because I would have to come back. But seriously? Why not have me reschedule or something. I am EFFING PISSED.
Dr. Karis is who I am seeing and I also saw Dr. Lau, she was very nice

My Brother is now sitting up, speaking a tiny bit, recognizing and even eating orally, no more tube feedings, I can even get him to hold the spoon and bring food to his mouth, wipe his mouth and even say thank you at times. All the CNA’s are so happy for his progress, most of them have been with him since the beginning and see his growth. Two days later I go back to visit him and he is asleep the entire day that I am there, no more nurse bed side and I am told that the Doctor has put him on a medication to sedate him so he does not move around. I am livid and cannot believe what they are doing, no one contacted me to let me know what their plans were or why. I finally get a hold of the Doctor and he tells me that this is to prevent him falling or hurting himself, when I question why he no longer has a nurse bed side he basically eludes to the fact that he has had one for about 2 months (basically saying that they don’t want to spend the money for one but will just medicate him and keeping him like a vegetable) I cannot believe what I am hearing and I am complaining to anyone that will listen, everyday I go in there is nothing, he does not move, just sleeps. As days go on I speak to another Doctor and demand that they take him off the meds, they have know caused him to take 20 steps back when he was doing so well. The Doctor I speak to agrees and states that there is no reason for him to be so heavily medicated. Meanwhile so many CNA’s are telling me they can’t believe what the Doctors are doing, why would they do that to him when he was making so much progress (remember from part 1 of my letter, the drain on resources?) When I went in on Friday he had been sitting in his own feces for hours and was in soiled sheets and gown, when I called the nurse to complain she said she would be in but was busy (later found out she was heading off to lunch), two other helpers came in to clean him and whisper to me that he now has a rash on his back side, they turned him over to show me, they advised me to put pressure on because this was not ok and some nurses are lazy and not doing there job! I did complain and asked that pictures be taken and documented (it was never done) when I left his room I stated to the nurse that he was restless and trying to pull at things and get up, I also asked her to please get in there and look after him, she assured me she would, I left, that evening I get a call from the Doctor saying that he fell out of his bed and was found on the floor in between the bathroom and bed, he was taken to get a CT scan of his brain. Being livid I told him that I would be seeking an attorney immediately and this was not okay. I demanded a CNA back in his room that night, the Doctor apologized and assured me there would be, not feeling confident at this point I sent my sister, when she got there no CNA, he was alone again and she stayed with him all night. Two days later I get a call from the charge nurse stating that they found a bed for him at a new facility in Santa Clarita and was being transported (kind of a coincidence. get rid of the problem). I told them absolutely not! I have not even viewed this new place, I know nothing about it, this really upset her but I stood my ground. The next day I visited the place and it was a horrible 1 star facility with a recent situation involving drug deals and a patient using drugs in his shared room. I called the charge nurse to let her know it was unacceptable and I would be getting a lawyer for my Brother, word spread quickly through his floor and some insiders told me they heard the nurses say «She got a lawyer, we have to really get in there and take care of him». My Brother had no insurance, I had to get him Medical to help pay his medical bills. This is what they do to patients like him! After preaching caring, kindness, GOD and good Christian hearts it all comes down to business and money, it is not about human beings and healing. Shame on you Loma Linda and your unwillingness to do what’s right and take care of people seeking care for the betterment of their health and life.
I am the voice for my Brother as he has none and this is not okay. I hope that my story helps others in some way because no one should go through what my family has been through the last few months!
