I came here for an assessment on my car since I didn’t believe the last technician I took my auto to. I clarified the issue and the last place had separated the battery and eradicated any analytic codes the auto had so they needed to drive the auto around and go by what I was stating.
They had my auto for a couple days, the correspondence was awesome which is the reason I am giving them a 5 star review (I simply needed to call them every day to get updates, also they were very forthcoming with all the data.
(They never made it appear as if they were attempting to lead me a specific way).
In any case, I’m happy I got my baby back in great condition, which I was so appreciative for.
The shop truly demonstrated to me that Ron is a genuine man-​he had initially let me know he would not charge me for diagnosing the issue and seeing as they had it a couple days and were running various tests on it I acknowledge not charging me. Be that as it may, I additionally think they
didn’t charge me since they knew the new part wouldn’t alter the issue.
In any event at the other transmission shop I would have paid $ 600 for another new part in my auto that didn’t alter anything.
So yes, I would recommend this spot. One of the other guys even gave me a ride back (Cant remember his name) when I dropped off the car which I believed was helpful to me on such a crazy day I was having. The other transmission shop simply left me without a friend in the world and were not decent about much.

First of all, there is nobody named Hal here. It’s simply the name on the building. However, Ron is the best. The man knows his stuff, no doubt about it.
Now, let me tell ya… I went in thinking I was going to spend an arm and a leg on a mediocre job. Although the repairs needed on my 2001 Honda Civic didn’t come cheap it was nothing compared to what the other guys charged. Ron sounded like he knew his stuff and he gave it to me straight. The leaks on my driveway and whining noises were a clear sign that my transmission was damaged.
Ron said the job could be done and boy, was it done. My car was done on time and under budget!!! My car has never run smoother. Thanks Ron and Company!!!

Been going to Transmissions by Hal for a long time. Service and honesty is why I keep coming back here. I dont know why all the bad reviews. They’ve always taken care of me when I have a concern, issue or warranty work. They’ve always tried to resolve all my doubts. Keep up the good work and as always, I will continue to keep coming back.

Was worth the trip up from Modesto to have the work done properly once again they exceded expecations

RIP OFF. I had them rebuild my transmission in my Dodge. I might have 10k on it. The transmission went out again. I took it to another shop to find out that not only was I over charged but they put in the wrong fluid and didn’t tighten anything properly. Which led to the transmission failing again. Now I’m out the cash and I have to have it rebuilt again. If you have to earn your money, don’t spend it here. I had to give them one star that they don’t deserve.

Went here for a transmission rebuild and was told my fly will needed to be replaced and torque converter before bringing car here the emergency braked worked just fine in less than two weeks car would not go into reverse long story short took car back three times and trans was never fixed properly all fluid leaks out in driveway ! Would not recommend going here!
