Service today was amazing, the tech was Ricky. Kat at the counter was great too. She had a rough morning with her water bottle but didn’t let that stop her from offering excellent service.

Jessie is the man. He provided great service to me and did it in a timely manner. Didnt have an appointment set, but he still helped me get my tire patched and back on the road in no time. Thanks

Best customer service in a long time!
I blew a tire after nailing a curb. The car I have doesn’t have a spare (seriously?!) so I needed it towed. My insurance said Pep Boys — seemed ok to me. Kat from Pep Boys called me, got the make and model of my car and gave me info on tires. I actually needed four new ones so she arranged everything. The tow dropped off my car and she called me when it was finished — it could not have been easier!!! And on top of that — the price wasn’t as high as originally quoted — I didn’t need the alignment. Nice to deal with honest people. If you are doing to need work — call and ask for Kat — she was awesome!!!

Horrible service. Went in to buy tire chains at 2:50 pm, and the «customer service» disappeared! I am checking the milk cartons for the missing employees. Keep driving!

I walked in to the store just to buy a can of paint. When I go to the cashier there was no one there. I waited exactly 12 min. Until finally some one when to help me out.

I’ve had good service here but today I can’t reach them on the phone, I’ve tried three times and no answer. Is the phone number correct?

Had them install new post connectors ($ 30 labor) only to find out I needed a new battery. Ok, no problem. Bought new battery and whoah! it cost me 14.99 for the battery installation package. What the Hell! You are already charging me for the labor to install the battery post connectors and then you hit me with a ghost fee to put in the battery?
The guy at the front desk was courteous and straightforward. He took the time to explain why the need for a new battery and credited for my old battery.
I just hate when corporate hits you with bogus fees. Those extra $ 15 may be the reason I go somewhere else next time.

Myself and since we’re driving up to Sacramento and we got a flat tire. Pep Boys was really helpful in trying to get as quickly back on the road. They hate us for 45 minutes but were able to get it done in less than 30 minutes. The staff was very friendly and hospitable to our needs in urgency into the matter. I would recommend this store to others that are traveling along.
That was our’s customer service representative and she really helped us. We called ahead of time to ensure that we were able to get a tire for the car that we had rented. She was able to contact enterprise and get everything straightened out before arrival at the store. This was really grateful and appreciate it to us in a time sensitive matter.

I was not real impressed with the service they have to offer. The day I went in they had tons of people working and no body would help. they wanted to stand behind the counter and chitchat. I just turned around and went to oreily auto parts on Cherokee. the parking situation sucks. if your towing a trailer don’t even try getting into the parking lot. if your looking for something on an older vehicle might want to try napa auto parts on kettleman or grafinia brothers (the old napa in down town lodi) because pepboys doesn’t know how to find parts unless they can find it in a computer

My daughter took her car in for an oil and filter change, now her car is knocking due to not having enough oil put in her car when serviced. The manager Ken would reply that her car burned up the oil (4 quarts) since her oil change in early December, mind you she has only driven her car less than 100 miles since the service was done. He also mentioned that she has no leaks!!! hmmmm… where did the oil go??? BBB is getting a claim! Her car was in great running condition prior to her service there. So disappointing~

My experience here has been very hit and miss. Sometimes the service is good, other times it’s pretty unsatisfactory. It’s the closest shop t where I live, so I often end up using them since it’s so convenient — though recently I’ve started going elsewhere.
Some of the staff are very nice and helpful. Others don’t seem to care about customer service. I’ve often had to wait a long time before someone even acknowledged me and told me they’d be with me in a moment. For numerous oil changes I’ve been told it would take 30 – 45 minutes (which is already long for an oil change), only to find myself waiting an hour or more. Once, my car had been ready for 10 minutes already — they just hadn’t told me. I had to walk up to the counter and ask when it would be finished.
Another time I needed new windshield wipers, and they put the wrong size on, which resulted in the wipers not working properly. When I came back, they again put the wrong size on. Finally, I talked to a manager and she was very apologetic and made sure we got the right size, and didn’t charge me anything. But it was inconvenient to have to keep coming back due to a simple mistake.
Ultimately, if you put pressure on them and ask/​demand for better service, they usually comply. I just don’t want to have to spend the time reminding them

The short: It’s an auto parts store that also doubles as a shop. Nothing great nothing bad just what it is.
The long: First off I will say I don’t get any service work done here because well they are just really proud of their work apparently and you pay for it. That being said there are not a lot of options for auto parts in Lodi and when I need something this is usually my first stop. I have only ran into one or two occasions where they did not have something in stock, but they were able to get it in for me that day. The building itself is kind of old and dingy, but I think this is a theme with PepBoys, and really who cares because it is a parts store. You aren’t coming here to eat. The staff moves at about the speed of molasses when it comes to helping customers and they are just about that excited as well. Overall it is an okay parts store and so far the best in town, but it just isn’t anything more than that.
What works: Usually pretty decent stock on auto parts
What to improve: Staff is very ho hum and in no hurry to help you.

I agree with everyone for the most part. one exception is the old white man that you can occasionally find working here on early mornings he was very helpful and knew his shit when it came to autobody. as far as the rest they ALL treat me like a fucking the if because I walk in the door with a backpack on everytime, GUESS WHAT AS SHOLES I RIDE A BIKE AND ALL MY STUFF GOES I A BACKPACK THAT I SURE AS HE’LL AM NOT LEAVING OUTSIDE ON CHEROKEE AND KETTLEMAN FUCKING LANE. To make it better I leave my backpack by the unused register up front and yet I’m treated like I’m robbing old ladies and punching babies. So now I come here for the nice bench outside that is shaded most the day and enjoy the free wifi yall provide and sometimes if I have time I like to walk in the store and immediately start picking merchandise up and misplaced in it or act real shady like a thief just cause I know it gets your pecks jumping all the while never stealing anyth in n and sometimes buying a candy bar

I went in on August 10 around 3pm and picked up my car around 5:30. What your employee/​s did was disgusting, juvenile and unprofessional. I will not be going back to to Pep Boys again. Also, if it helps your emoloyees to recall who I am, I was the guy in a turban.

I bring in all my vehicles to the lodi pep boys, great staff, great mechanics, prices for services and parts and tires best in town. I recommend this place to all my friends and family, my kids bring there cars here and I know they get taken care of.

I took my car to pepboys to have the AC looked at because it was not working. They diagnosed that we basically needed to replace the entire unit because the air compressor was bad. Pepbys wanted to charge $ 1750 for the entire thing. I called around and took my vehicle to Joe’s Automotive Repair. He was going to do the same job for about $ 1100. After inspecting my vehicle he figured out the compressor was fine and that we needed a clutch coil. We ended up getting freeon (not sure how to spell) filled and clutch coil replaced for $ 700. He saved us over $ 1000. Pepboys was completely wrong about the compressor. Our AC works and is blowing out ice cubes for this hot summer! So happy we got a second opinion.
Maybe they are okay for oil changes and brakes. But I would never have them do a major repair to my car. They are expensive and clearly willing to rip you off. I called a ton of different mechanics in Lodi and they were the highest priced out of everyone. Do your research!

Took my car in for an oil change today with a coupon for a $ 50 synthetic oil change. They did the service and rang me up for $ 75. The manager told me that the coupon was only good for 5 quarts and they put 7 in my car.
The problem was they told me that it would put 5 quarts in when I brought it in and no one told me they put in 7! I explained this to the manager and he very condescendingly told me that it «says right on the back of the coupon that’s it only good for 5 quarts». I told him «you didn’t tell me it was for 7 quarts», to which he had no response.
I told them I would not be coming back to which the manager replied «sorry to hear that». I told him if he was actually sorry he would honor the $ 50 deal, to which he just shrugged.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to change oil so I suggest you go to one of the multiple other options in Lodi.

The woman who helped me was great (Kat). However, after spending over 3 hours to get 4 tires put on my car, I was pretty shocked to notice that in my hate to leave, I only examined the back tires and didn’t realize that they had forgotten to install the fronts.
Today, I show up for them to finish the job and the gangly guy behind the counter started laughing and said «we forgot to install some tires? Oh my god, that’s the funniest thing I have heard since working here». I fail to see his humor at me having to sit and wait… AGAIN.
Waste of time and money.

One star well-​earned. The manager is a real piece of work. My brother and I were looking for paint to touch up our wheels today. I thought I’d found the right color so I sprayed a little onto a center cap I brought in to check for consistency. To my surprise the manager (who I can only assume has astronomically high blood pressure) yelled, «YOU’RE BREAKING THE LAW!» from across the store. I don’t know about you all, but I generally expect to sample paint before buying without being treated like a criminal. Won’t be returning to this establishment.
It sounds like you should expect similar service when getting work done. Like another reviewer, I recommend Valley Auto. I usually do my own work, but I went there for a smog the other day and they were friendly, professional, and quick. Plus, the workers were the kind of people I felt good patronizing — much unlike this Pep Boys.

If I could give this place less than one star, I would. I went in for my last oil change — Jiffy Lube was closed. I called ahead of time to see if they could take me & they said «Sure, show up at 7.» Perfect. After a bunch of excuses, I didn’t leave until 9.
Two hours for an oil change??? Good thing I brought work to do. They do have wifi, but it’s not like working out of a coffee shop.
I will never go back. Why did I NOT go to Valley Auto right across the street???
