One of the best Chinese restaurants I can think of. Great service from start to finish. Like most have mentioned — their Boneless spareribs are incredible. You know it’s a institution when they don’t offer food delivery and last as long as they have. Solid menu!

Great local Chinese food place! Always satisfied. Try their combo platters. The only odd thing is they don’t deliver.

Had the Sesame Chicken and Spicy Beef lunch sets. At $ 6 each with a soda thrown in, there’s not much more you could ask for. But hey, the food was great too, which makes this spot an instant go-to if we’re in the area.

Food was hot and ready in less time than they originally said(10 minutes. no complaint there!) Large portions at a great price. I ordered chicken and broccoli as well as a spare rib combo lunch special. Both came with a soda. Broccoli was very fresh and crisp. Ribs were well cooked and not tough. Highly recommend!

The vegetable spring roll alone is worth the price of admission as far as the combination platters go. It’s reminiscent of a Filipino lumpia. Yes, it’s that good. They take pride in their preparation of items and it shows in the presentation and flavor profile. While this may be a traditional takeout location, their dining room is large enough to accommodate large groups. However the restroom is not typical of a sit down restaurant(dirty). But you’re not visiting this place to use the restroom. You’re patronizing this place for their delicious food and maybe, just maybe, their vegetable spring roll. That thing is good…

We love Chinatown Gourmet! Always friendly. They always greet us. Know it’s only cash only and no delivery. Food is always tasty and in a decent amount of time. Our #1 go to!

I must agree with the other Unilocaler reviews about the General Tso and sesame chicken. Both definitely have a crispiness and crunchiness to it, that separates it from most other Chinese food takeout places. I’ve ordered four different dishes here as lunch specials and all four have been good. I’ve tried the General Tso chicken, sesame chicken, chicken with garlic sauce, and the hot and spicy chicken. All lunch specials come with your choice of white or fried rice and a wonton soup, or egg drop soup, or a soda. The price of the lunch special is $ 6. Out of all four, the General Tso and sesame chicken have been my favorite. As stated above, the crispiness of the chicken stands out. The sauce is similar to other Chinese takeouts, but I like the fact that every bite is crunchy and not soggy. I haven’t tried the kung pao yet, but I’m looking forward to it. Lastly, this place is located in a mini mall, that has plenty of parking. Be careful though, the mini mall gets crowded at times.

Nice little place that I recently found out has been there for over 2 decades, and they have accomplished this without offering delivery which is usually a staple of places like this. I’ve yet to go to this place and not have seen around 10 other customers come in and out and the owners talk to many of them so you know they have alot of repeat business and loyal customers. Their son is also usually sitting in the corner either playing or doing homework and many of the regulars chat him up to much to his amusement. The standout dishes for me are general tso chichen which is very crispy without being burnt and the boneless spare ribs. if you’re in the area n want some American Chinese food don’t bother going anywhere else. Even if you do have to go get it yourself.

Fantastic food and for the price it is an absolute steal. The flavors taste very balanced and authentic(as authentic as American Chinese gets at least). Their food does NOT taste like a ‘typical’ Chinese place. Highly recommended, and I wouldn’t pay attention to some of the other sore reviewers complaining about service. Service is as expected of a Chinese place, all my experiences were friendly and I can’t complain. I’m here for take out, not some 5-star sit down meal.

Hm. Its just a typical chinese place, BUT i will say this — YOUNEEDTOTRYTHESESAMECHICKEN ! the sauce is fabulous! This place is still living life in the days of «cash only.» I never have cash on me so I ended up trying new places and they were a lot better. I will probably only stop in when i know ill be ordering sesame chicken

Best Chinese food in the area, no question. I’ve ordered from every restaurant in the area, and none even come close. It’s a little expensive comparatively, but it’s totally worth it. They don’t deliver; they don’t take credit cards, but it’s worth the hassle of picking up and paying cash. Best General Tso’s chicken ever! And they will make any special orders you can think of.

i am a vegetarian now but when i wasn’t… the general Tso chicken was bangin! Crispy and spicy(i asked for it that way). Now i get green beans in garlic sauce which is also delish. The oonly bad thing is that they don’t deliver but hey, they are gourmet ;)

By far, the best food of any kind in the area. They’re so good, they don’t do delivery and it’s always busy for a reason.

Ever since my boyfriend introduced me to this place, I won’t order american Chinese dishes elsewhere. He’s been a customer since forever and goes at least once a week. The family that owns the place is super nice and knows him by name. One thing that sets this place apart from others is the way they fry their chicken. I don’t know what they do, but the fried chicken dishes(e.g., sesame chicken, general tso’s) are always super crunchy and crisp and not just sautéed. I stopped ordering from other Chinese places because the chicken never comes out the same. I recommend the sesame chicken or general tso’s chicken, extra crispy. Their BBQ pork fried rice is really good as is the boneless ribs. The egg roll wrapping is a bit too thick for my liking, but the combo(entrée, fried rice, and an egg roll) is really a steal(I get 3 – 4 meals out of one combo, which is around $ 8).

Always go here for my chinese cravings. They are open later than other restaurants in the area which is great. Very nice hostess as well.

I’ve been coming here for years and it’s the best Chinese food around. The people are so nice and they always get your order right. Also, if you don’t like egg rolls, like myself, you can get a free drink instead with your combination platter. I love it here and go at least every week.

This place was sitting under my nose for 2 years. I was driving to different towns because I am so picky with my chinese food, until i was in a rush one day and decided to give it a try. They have alot of repeat customers and seem to know most people by name. So far, everything i’ve tried has been good, especially the Boneless Spare Ribs. I always ask for my fried rice with extra veggies, and it comes out perfect every time. I have to hold back from ordering there multiple times a week The only potential downside is they don’t deliver or take cards.
