Lamoreaux Landing Wine Cellars

My least favorite place among all the wine tasting locations we went to. The bartender was rude, had prejudices, spoke down to us, and ignored us most of the time while attending to whichever single customer she thought would tip the best. Also, the wines were terrible compared to what was offered at the other locations we went to. Moreover, they dont make their own wine, but act as more of a third party seller. We only bought the ice wine, which was pretty good, but we wont be coming back to this location. Though they do get another star for the scenic location.

Sad… we came with a large group. I called 2 weeks prior and when we arrived they were not happy. We waited our turn and when it came, the servers were rude, to the point that one of our guests ask them if they were mad we were there. I understand there were 30 of us but we were patient and in no hurry. And what really stinks is they have my favorite wine. Customer service could have been better– we were very disappointed. «Dry Or Sweet» would have liked the back story…

This place has great views and great wine. The tasting staff was knowledgeable and approachable.
Part of the tasting fee goes to bottle of wine if buy one. Stay for a glass of wine on the patio!

Sadly we didn’t get the chance to experience the wine at Lamoreaux because the server completely ignored us when we arrived at the bar. The hostess greeted us warmly and brought us to the bar where my husband and I were rudely snubbed. The owner wouldn’t even acknowledge our existence. We waited patiently and conversed with other «tasters» until after approximately 10 minutes when we realized that this «gentleman”(word used very loosely) was not going to serve us wine or even say hello. I have never seen such a display of disrespect in my life! I sure hope the wine is better than their people skills. I would actually like to thank this man as we went right down the street and had a lovely experience at another winery

This is the best wine on the lake in my opinion. The moscato is great… sweet with a tiny bubble to it and they have a ton of Rieslings that are all fabulous and on the semi dry/​dry side. Most of the wine is above $ 15 but worth it in my opinion.

My wife and I stopped here during a long weekend on the finger lakes. Came highly recommended on TripAdviser and chowhound. Did not disappoint. We tasted six wines each as part of their Standard tasting ($ 4). The white wines were excellent (Chardonnays, Rieslings, and Gewurtztraminer). The Reds were good but not as full bodied as I like. If you have never had a Gewurtztraminer, I would highly recommend this one. Also, make sure to finish with the 2013 Moscato or equivalent. It was a fun and fantastic finish to the tasting.

Really pretty views and the wine tasting was great. $ 4 for 6 tastings and the host was friendly and knowledgable. Their dry rose was great. They take off $ 3 if you buy a bottle, too!

My girlfriend Bonnie and I had an amazing experience at this winery. Very knowledgeable staff and some delicious wines. Well worth the stop.

This was our first winery stop, which was recommended by a family friend. The grounds are pretty & the facility is very nice. After looking around, we finally stopped near the tasting area where tastings were only $ 4. If you bought a bottle, it came off your total amount. The winery has won many awards for their wine & the staff was knowledgable about their products. We ended up purchasing the moscato before leaving. My only gripe was we weren’t welcomed as soon as we walked in & the crackers were stale. Other than that, not too bad.

Lamoreaux was second only to Wiemer among the eight wineries we visited. We tried 12 wines, with an emphasis on dry wines, all of which were quite nice. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, and the building and views of the lake were great.

This space has a lovely open tasting room with high ceilings and cathedral windows.
You get six tastings for $ 4. Again we were on the prowl for tasty reds, but also sampled a few whites since there were some award winners among them. I’d say it’s more of a solid 3.5 in my book.
Overall, the reds I tried weren’t out of this world, rather the Gewurtztraminer and the Riesling were my preferred pours! I did enjoy the cab franc, but that’s typical of my visits to FLX wineries so I’d say this is what you’d expect from this area. Nothing unique or unusual stood out, but that’s ok – they have their shining stars on their wine list for sure. I also felt like the tasting experience wasn’t super engaging. I would have loved to talk more with her about pairings and the history of the winery, but she wasn’t giving us much to work with. It was a busy day so perhaps that’s why.
The view is wonderful so spend a little time on their small balcony. This would be a good spot to stop on a wine tour with friends where you’re going to actually savor the wine — the staff is quick, they have space, and you get your tasting in. Then enjoy a brief moment of relaxation before hopping back on the road.

Our visit to Lamoreaux went very well and I think this establishment is one of the shining stars along the crowded Seneca wine trail. I think people should select wineries to visit based on the quality of wine, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, and how good of a value their bottles are.
We really loved several of the wines sold here, and ended up buying a couple of bottles. I know some people buy cases and cases of wine when they visit this area, but we are very selective and end up with fewer than 10 bottles total. In fact, we drank one of the bottles we bought that same night, and ended up re-​buying it the next day so we could take it home. This was the gewurztraminer – a real standout in my opinion. The prices are also very reasonable for the quality you are getting.
We were also quite happy with the staff. When we had gathered around with a couple other groups for the tasting, a woman took time to explain each wine to us before we started. I don’t have vast wine knowledge, so her information really helped me select which wines I wanted to try. I don’t know if they spend that much time with everyone when it gets busy on weekends (we were there on a Thursday), but to me this practice sets them above the competition a bit.

Gorgeous tasting room and some excellent wines. One of the absolute best views on Seneca Lake.

I just want to say that this place has some of the best wines in the entire area. The T23 was awesome. I am not a great big fan of red wines but I came out of there with 2 bottles of this. I can’t wait to return again next year!

Tasting/​visiting experience: Love this winery — gorgeous, small, classy, and most importantly, wonderfully tasty and classic finger lakes rieslings.
They lose a star from me because unfortunately I had a very unpleasant experience with their reservations department on the phone when trying to schedule my second visit there. I left a message inquiring about a group tasting reservation, and she never returned my call. I followed up later in the week and she was surprisingly rude to me, and ultimately said they were too booked for our group — that’s all well and good, but I was somewhat baffled by the whole tone of the call and ended up telling her at the end of the call «you know, next time, you don’t have to be so rude to the customer.» She said «ok, thanks» and that was the end of it. My experience reserving at other wineries in the area was much smoother.
That said, as long as you avoid dealing with this particular lady, I really think it’s absolutely a must-​see on the Seneca Lake wine trail! That tasting room is out of this world with the views…

Impressive facilities, extremely pleasant staff, and most importantly, the wine delivers,

Chardonnay, chardonnay, chardonnay. Remember this when you get to Lamoreaux. This is the best winery in all of Seneca and Keuka in my opinion. The quality of the wines is top notch. As aforementioned, the chardonnay is lovely here. So are the cabernet franc and 76 West. The ice wine is spectacular (Casa Larga also has a good one). The other great part about this winery is that it doesn’t cater to the drunkards on buses looking for shots of wine that taste like spiked fruit punch (ahem, Three Brothers). Lamoreaux’s classier and doesn’t have tolerance for the «red card» shenanigans that other wineries can sometimes encourage. If you’re out for a day of wine tasting with that special someone or close friends, this beautiful tasting room is a must-​stop for wine lovers.

One of the more scenic and beautiful wineries I went to during my stay in the Finger Lakes, but unfortunately the wine was more or less forgettable.

Very sophisticated high-​end feeling winery. I was able to relax and enjoy the tasting with nice vineyard view of tasting room. Staffs are friendly and very well mannered. Wines are very good!

I think I can understand some of the negativity here. There are 2 kinds of wineries in the Fingerlakes, and this one definitely falls into the «Old School, high-​end, yuppy-​centric» category. So for people looking for the newer, more relaxed places with T-​shirt wearing college pourers and a more «fun» attitude, this place will seem stodgy at best, and rude at worst.
It really isnt like that, its just a different attitude towards wine. The focus is more on sophistication than fun. Back in the day, pretty much all the wineries in the region were like this. I remember visiting Glenora as a child clinging to my parents, and they epitomized this feeling. A lot of middle-​aged couples in golf shirts, you know?
The fact remains though, that the wine is very, very good. And very reasonably priced. Their «42 North» may very well be my favorite white in the region, and one of my favs overall. The reds are also excellent.
Bottom line: if you are looking for a party, this is not the place. If you are want tasty wine in a bit more refined environment, Lamoreaux has some great offerings.
