Addy’s Paella

We were looking for a good, affordable option for our wedding of about 100 guests at a camp in Pinecrest, CA. Addy’s Paella was the perfect fit! The food was amazing, the service was excellent, and it fit our budget! All our guests raved about the paella and commented how much they loved seeing the chefs cook the paella in the giant pans. In addition to the great food, Addy and her team were wonderful to work with. They were extremely friendly, professional, and efficient. We would definitely recommend Addy’s to anyone else hosting a wedding or large event!

My husband and I met in Spain and really wanted to incorporate that into our wedding day, so what better way to do that than through the food? Paella was the natural choice — it’s simple, delicious, and the presentation can’t be beat — those huge paella pans! At first I wasn’t sure how it was going to work because our venue did not allow indoor cooking and didn’t make it easy for us to put everything together, but working with Addy really boosted our confidence in our ability to make it happy. She was able to cook outside and we brought a cart for her to wheel everything into the venue. It was absolutely perfect!
Addy was one of my most helpful wedding vendors. She worked with us from the beginning of the planning process to help us figure out logistics and details that we never would have considered on our own. From the tasting to the wedding, she was so accommodating and had simple solutions for all of the little problems that would arise. Her staff that she brought along was also amazing, they kept bellies full and the venue looking clean all night! We also had Addy and her staff set up our cocktail hour table appetizers and coffee table, which they did effortlessly. I am extremely grateful to Addy and her crew for being so easy to work with and for helping to ensure the entire evening ran smoothly.
Our wedding would not have been as orderly and as amazing without the awesome paella, Addy, and the rest of her team. Feeding 140 people in a timely manner and cleaning up after them is no easy feat, so I commend Addy and her team for managing to do all of this, all while under the radar — I swear I would look around and not see anyone working and yet everyone had food, water, and the tables were clear of trash, it was incredible. Addy is one of the sweetest people you’ll ever work with and can definitely make your wishes (no matter how complicated they may be!) come true.
And the food, gosh it was so amazing! The rice was so moist and flavorful, the chicken and shrimp were super tender, & the salad was super fresh. When the plate showed up on my table, I inhaled the whole thing in a matter of seconds! We got many compliments from our guests as well, it was a big hit! If you’re looking for a helpful team of cooks and staff and a unique culinary experience for your next big event, I wholeheartedly recommend Addy’s Paella! We hired Addy for our wedding of 100 guests at Union Hill Inn and she was a HIT! Everyone is still raving about the paella and appetizers they served!
I knew leading up to the wedding that I wanted to serve a non-​traditional meal. Everyone has had dry chicken and steak enough times! I came across Addy’s website one day and knew she would be the perfect fit. Addy and I emailed back and forth many times working out the perfect menu. She invited us up to her home for a tasting that blew our socks off. Not only was the paella to die for, but her warm and caring personality shined through instantly.
On the day of our wedding our guests were thrilled to watch the paella process. Many folks went back for seconds and thirds. All of her staff were fantastic, kind and really went above and beyond.
We also hired a bartender through Addy who was great! We had a rowdy crowd and he handled them with ease.
Additionally, the day after I was told by the owner of the venue that they had never seen the kitchen in such great shape following a wedding and they would love to have her back time and time again.

Tried them out at the large sactomofo event and was very disappointed. The people were nice, but the food was not. They only sold the one item the chicken, sausage and shrimp with rice. I would think that they would be very good at making it, but I was wrong. It was a small portion with no flavor and the rice wasn’t cooked all the way. Will not be back.

This was my second Sactomofo, to try their famous paella. I was actually disappointed by it, which saddened me because it also happened last year too. their rice was very undercooked. It kind of ruined the dish for me especially given that the dish itself was like $ 8. The aloli though was pretty good and complimented the paella very well. I ended up taking the dish home and having to recook it in attempts to soften the rice, tasted a lot better after doing that.

We had the absolute pleasure of having Addy’s Paella cater our January 10^th wedding at the Clunie Community Center in Sacramento!
From the very beginning of our planning process, Addy was super responsive, helpful and a complete sweetheart! We were able to meet with her for a tasting at one of the Sacto MoFo events last April and saw that the paella was a big hit due to the enormous line at their booth. Luckily, we didn’t have to wait in it:-)
On the day of the wedding, everything went smoothly. Addy and her amazing crew were on time and very professional. Our guests LOVED the appetizers and the paella and appreciated how the food was so fresh and prepared right before their eyes.
We would definitely recommend Addy’s Paella to any couple planning a wedding!

Addy’s Paella catered our Sept 28^th wedding at Taber Ranch in Capay. First of all, Addy is based in Lodi– that is a pretty long drive so I was super stoked when she said it wasn’t too far at all. The paella was amazing! My guests raved about the food all night. Our tasting and planning all went off without a hitch. Our emails were always answered quickly and with a professional assurance of quality. Addy went above and beyond to make certain we got exactly what we had envisioned, all the way down to photographing swatches for napkin color choices.
Additionally, Addy & her crew were fantastic! You always hear nightmares about the bridal party not getting to eat. While we were off taking pictures her staff made sure to plate some appetizers for us and brought them out to us while we were taking pictures. And these were appetizers WE brought — not even catered by her. Just thoughtful and in the spirit of great hospitality. Addy and her servers were kind, fun and attentive. I didn’t worry about a single thing with our food… what a feat (I’m a chef and I always worry about food! lol) That being said, as someone in the food service industry, I know what it takes to pull off a good service, let alone a memorable, and fantastic one. I give mad props to this caterer and her
was a night to remember and they played a huge role in this.
Massive, beautiful, savory, spendiferious pans of steaming paella, made on site in front of your guests;cooked and served by wonderful, gracious and thoughtful people… how can you go wrong? I highly recommend Addy’s Paella and am happy they were part of a very special night for us!

We had Addy’s Paella cater a community event for about 100 people. Everything was just fantastic, from the food to the service. She served up veggie and seafood paella’s, grilled tri-​tip and chicken, crab cakes, prosciutto and manchego cheese bruschetta and salad w/​bread. The paella is the best we’ve found in the Sacramento area. We were lucky to find her, and would definitely use her again.

Addy’s Paella catered our August 2^nd wedding, and having her and her crew was one of our top best wedding decisions. We went to a tasting at her home, and loved the delicious seafood paella and the fact that it is a family business. It was fun to have them outside cooking in front of our guests (our venue didn’t have a kitchen), and the appetizers were delicious as well (my biggest regret is that I didn’t get to eat more than one crabcake. yum!).

Had some paella form here on Saturday at a Sacramento Food truck festival. The reason I am giving it such low rating is the rice was completely undercooked. We bought two portions and the rice was hard/​inedible when we tried it. I was so disappointed. But we had stood in a long line and paid good money for the food. So I took it home. The next day, I added some water and popped it in the microwave. Still not fully cooked but much better. The flavors were very good, but I was just so disappointed that a place would serve undercooked rice at an event like this. Maybe they weren’t prepared to deal with the large crowd. I may give them another try the next time I see them. Again, the flavors were good, but the technique just wasn’t there yesterday.

We had a small dinner at our house catered by Addy’s Paella and it was beyond amazing. Loved the food and the fact that she cooked it right in front of us was awesome! Def recommend!

My first Paella EVER. This isn’t a food truck but a booth at SactoMoFo events. Sometimes there is a line but not often is there a long line like there is for the food trucks. They are missing out which means less of a wait for me and possibly seconds! The price is not bad, considering it is just the right amount of food to fill me up. Chicken is moist, shrimp is perfectly cooked, sausage has a nice flavor. The rice is probably the only rice I’ve had besides rice I buy from asian supermarkets that I like. The only thing I didn’t like was some of other rice was a bit under cooked. I wish they had a truck and would go around the Sacramento area like Drewski’s, would definitely follow them for their food.

Smelled really good so I got in line to try it. The sign said chicken and sausage. When I got up there they only had the vegetarian left. So I tried it. The flavor was good, but the rice wasn’t cooked all the way. It was still crunchy. I don’t think I’ve actually eaten a true paella before, so I don’t know if it’s supposed to be like that. but I didn’t like it crunchy. I also thought it was kinda lame that the event was from 5 – 8 and they ran out of the meat dishes by 5:45.

My first stop at Sac MoFo 6, partially because the line was fairly short. This was actually my favorite of the day. There was a ton of meat and seafood which infused the rice with a lot of flavor. The aoli topping made the paella even better. Definitely worth the wait.

Really, really thought I wrote this review a long time ago… Oh well.
I ate at Addy’s at the West Sacramento Farmer’s Market this summer. Really good paella with a KILLER garlic aioli sauce that just makes the whole thing. Highly recommend trying it if you get the chance!

Yup, good paella, and had it at Sacto MoFo in West Sac. They’re always good, reasonable prices, and tasty paella.

Chanced upon Addy’s Paella driving down Sunrise Blvd by the mall.
«Whoa! Do a U-​turn!» I yelled.
Could those be a bevy of food trucks in my ‘hood? Yes indeedly doodly. Located in the Birdcage parking lot (in front of Lowe’s), there were a handful of trucks including Chando’s Tacos, Drewski’s, Krush Burger, Red Rooster Waffles, Gypsy Mobile Boutique, and a smoothie truck. I’m now following SactoMoFo on Twitter (@SactoMoFo) so I’ll be in the know the next time they come out.
Although Addy’s does not have a truck, they had a booth and once I wolfed down the sample handed to me — I was sold! Moist, delicious and more-​ish!
For about $ 6 you get a small serving of saffron rice, shrimp and other goodies. While the serving seemed small, I would like to say it is «right sized.» I could’ve easily eaten two though.

My first Paella in a long ling time and it flat out rocked! So good we got seconds and my wife NEVER gets seconds! Not a food truck so look for the booth at the SacMoFo events. No line but that’s because folks have no idea what they are missing. The chicken was moist and flavorful, the shrimp plump and juicy, the sausage had good texture and flavor and the saffron rice brought it all together. i know this isn’t true Valencia style but loved it anyway!
Get a truck guys!

I went to a private party where Addy’s Paella brought a big circular hot plate (I don’t know what to call it) and prepared paella in their backyard. The smell was incredible, drew people to the demonstration. You could hear people commenting on loving the smells and it only built the anticipation of actually getting to eat it.
The woman making the paella was nice and people would gather and ask her questions and she happily obliged. answered questions and spoke with party guests as she cooked.
The paella had shrimp, sausage, chicken. then it was topped off with some garlic aioli. It was delicious. It was a nice party feature.
Aside from catering, you’ll find Addy’s at events like SactoMoFo. Same demonstration of cooking in front of everybody and letting that smell of cooking the paella draw people in. $ 7 for a serving in a little paper food tray. Steep but, it’s delicious. I wished the serving was bigger.

Just the web photos of the giant paella pan full of goodness will draw you to wherever they are located. As was the case at SactoMoFo 4, but alas, by the time i got there they were sold out.
So i jumped at the chance when they were to be at the local West Sacramento Farmers Market, and they were indeed worth the trip and the wait.
The paella is just great, just a good to smell and eat as it looks online. I not only went back for seconds, I also got some more later to go for lunch the next day.
Its sort of a saffron infused non spicy spanish version of jambalaya, or vice versa. It had chunks of shrimp, sausage, and chicken in it and a garlic aioli sauce on top.
Very tasty, I will definitely be a repeat customer.
