History

Established in 1991.

Andy’s got started in March of 1991 in Goldsboro, NC by founder, Kenny Moore. He named the business after his new baby boy, Andy. For the last 20 years we have worked hard to bring you fresh, hand rolled burgers that will blow your mind. Or emphasis is on building great relationships with our community and growing the rising stars that come through our doors to work. We aim to show young minds how to become successful at business and in their personal lives through strong leadership and faith. We have grown from one little store in the Berkley Mall to 100 stores covering the great state of North Carolina, and we are just getting started. Come by and see what’s got everyone talking!

I am a local NC guy coming from Durham with 15+ years in the restaurant business. I am very excited to be a new part of the Locust community. When you come to Andy’s it should be easy to tell that I have a real passion for people. Having fun with, and getting to know my guests is what I love to do. I am a sports fanatic. UNC is my team, as well as the Panthers & the Braves. Stop in for a burger and some frozen custard and say hello.

I posted a picture of a hot dog that I got… I ordered a chili cheese dog, I got home and there was no chili on the dog! The hot dog was pink on the outside and white on the inside. And when I say «pink» it was like an artificial fluorescent pink. Yuck

The food was good but everyone on here is right the place looks dirty. The staff was more interested in personal conversations than taking orders or refilling drinks. I think they just need a new management team and a deep cleaning. The burgers were very good.

After receiving a brand new credit card (we’d never used it before), my family went to this restaurant to have lunch. The waitress took our card and went to the register at the drive thru window instead of processing the receipt at the register where we were standing. This seemed suspicious to me so I started scrutinizing our credit card statement and lo and behold two weeks later — fraudulent charges started appearing on our account! These charges could have only come from the wait staff/​personnel from this restaurant as again the card had NEVER been used anywhere else! After being frustrated with the low quality of food and high prices of same — these fraudulent charges sealed the deal for us and we will never again be visiting this restaurant! In short if you take the chance to eat here — you should definitely take cash and not trust the teenage wait staff with your card.

On our first visit my Fiancé and I were super excited. The theme is different from other restaurants. We were initially confused though, because it says the place is called Highway 55… but also Andy’s burgers… not sure what that is about.
The wait staff was very poor. Mostly Teenagers in high school on their first job, which isn’t a bad thing, but they were more or less hanging out opposed to working. Our waitress had her bf with her and instead of waiting on us, she sat in the booth with him. We shrugged it off to kids just being kids.
The food was poor. As you are waiting for your food, you can watch the kitchen crew cook the food. The chef was a young teenage boy and was not very sanitary with how he handled the food. It tasted bad.
We had high hopes for this place, it could easily earn four stars if the management would retrain their staff and work on the quality of food.

Food is good, service is not. Cook eating pizza from Domino’s at the counter, 2 employees laying in the only vacant booth, premise just not clean. I think what they need is better management.

We have been coming to this Andys for about 3 years now. Every time we come I get the pimento cheese sandwich which is absolutely amazing. I just went the other day and they have changed the pimento cheese. They make it in house now and it is gross. Why would they mess with somthing that was so good. I don’t know but I will not be back.

Still love the food, but sit around and look at how dirty the place is! Months go by and you’ll see the same dirt from your last visit! I’m not sure how their inspection rating is an A … They need to clean badly!!!

Called in order, it wasn’t ready when I was told. Ended up waiting at the counter for another 45 minutes. I found I could finally get someone to notice that I was waiting by sitting on the floor. Food is ok, everything else is hit or miss.

My husband and son told me about Andys and how good the burgers were. Well, I have to agree, they are very good indeed. But, for me, when the servers came around to your table with samples of their frozen custard (Butter Pecan that day) wow, it was to die for! I cannot wait to go back and have dessert because after an Andys burger there was no room for the dessert. So, either go with the intent to eat sweet, or share your meal and have dessert too! The restaurant is clean and a very cheery place. Worth the drive!

A VERY Good Burger! ! ! Rumors have been flying around at least since Summer that Andy’s Burgers are coming to the Charlotte area! I could not wait, so I planned a trip and headed to Locust.
In the Walmart Shopping Center, a few doors away from Red Bridge Blvd. (from Red Bridge Blvd. turn to enter the Walmart Shopping Center and look to your Right) and it is easy to find from there.
Inside looks like a Fifty’s Diner (not the one from «Kill Bill» unfortunately) kinda cool. Service is Fast and Friendly! I got the Hamburger (not Cheese Burger) with Onions, Tomato, Pickle, Ketchup and Mustard. You can also get Chili, Slaw, Mayo and Lettuce.
For the Price this Burger is Big and has Very good flavor! This is a value! I would drive to Weddington if they open a location there or anywhere closer to South Charlotte!
I did not like the Frozen Custard, though it is not reflected in my star rating, because they were smart enough to let me taste it to see if I wanted to order some. They were also Smart to tell me the fries are frozen before they cook them (obviously not when they serve them). OK I know you guys are a Franchise yet are we not through with FROZEN Fries? I know most people are not so picky about Fries.
