I got the Loaded Burger with the fruit salad and the Vodka pasta with a mixed greens salad to go for the lunch special. The dessert was a brownie which was very good, one of the best raw desserts I’ve had. I also went over to the juice bar and got a Pina Colada. The staff was extremely nice. Prices were very good for a completely organic raw vegan restaurant.

This place impressed me after a not so great experience ! Let me start by saying how happy I am this place is under new ownership… Trying this place awhile back made me not leave a review due to some lacking qualities. I am glad this place stayed and changes have been made– very smart move! I walked into thinking I would get mediocre service like last time and since it has been a long while I was ready for anything. Firstly, I was greeted warmly and given a nicely short/sweet/detailed synopsis of who and what this place does. It was nice walking in and not being looked at like an alien — I felt like family. The smiles were genuine and no judgement passed…(Side note: I am vegan … I’ve def. noticed a lot of click/cult association and I really hate it and don’t understand it– totally something I stay away from) Again, it was awesome how warm the welcome was :) thank you! The food quality was outstanding tonight and exceeded my expectations. I think it’s tough coming in here with any expectations as many have not eaten raw or vegan — nothing wrong with that but an open mind helps. It’s hard wrapping your head around a cold meal(if you’re expecting a warm one lol) but coming here it’s hard to be disappointed. Why? Because, guess what, if you’re new you get to taste test anything you might have a question on… *Great selling point– please keep this aspect for the newcomers!* I orders the Thai pizza(sauce is to die for thanks to the creative chef/server/creator nick) topped diced veggies and the perfect consistency crust — not too rough and not too soft! My friend had the spaghetti(which what I had awhile back and didn’t like) but this time it was phenomenal– fluffy and very tasty! On to dessert! Omg the brownie turtles — my oh my– they were perfect… Perfect to share, perfect taste, perfect amount of caramel, ganache, chocolate, brownie… Literally a slice of heaven. You have to try it if you come here ! Our service– beyond what I expected. Any question I had was answered, great convo with the chefs and servers, awesome timing and super knowledgable and relatable people. One of the best experiences I’ve had! It really put the icing on the cake for me this time ! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I will be back and will be brining friends, family and everyone I know :) Keep doing what you’re doing… Two thumbs up!

Love this place. I travel all over. I haven’t found much like it. Very very good. Only thing better than the food is the staff.

This food was DELICIOUS! I like to follow a paleo diet, so I still do eat chicken breast sometimes, but I’ve been looking for a nice vegan place to get tasty vegan food and I was shocked when I found a place nearby! The service and workers are really helpful, especially if it’s your first time ordering. I got the tex-mex bagel which came with 2 side salads. I couldn’t resist but get 2 desserts, chocolate turtle brownies and also some vanilla macaroons. All of it was fantastic and I couldn’t be more pleased! I definitely recommend all the dishes I purchased, very tasty, filling, and doesn’t leave you feeling sluggish. Vegan Café all the way!!!

Birthday dinner and we ordered a lot – oohing and ahhing at the flavors throughout. Menu includes samplers with wide varieties of appetizers and desserts. Some favorites included spiced taco meat(vegan version, of course), pad thai, lasagna and turtles/turtle cheesecake. On a cold, rainy day you would think raw food might be unappetizing, but no way: not when the food is this meticulous and tasty, the space so inviting(very welcoming to wheelchair users) and the servers so friendly and knowledgeable. The rich hot cocoa delivered from the smoothie shop(it’s a cooperative deal) certainly helped. Plus it benefits charity… and healthy too? We’ll be back again and again.

I loooove this place. I’ve eaten here and taken a cheesecake class with Margarite. Not a big fan of the«meat» options, but who cares? Everything else is awesome! The pad thai and the cheesecakes are my favorite, particularly the margarita cheesecake. It’s amazing! You wouldn’t expect a gem like this in Lockport, but there it is. Go. Now.

I loved the free samples they give newcomers; this really helped me pinpoint which dishes I wanted more of.(This is pretty key when ordering raw vegan food, where the flavors and textures cannot be predicted by description alone.) I also loved the creamy alfredo I ordered: the zucchini noodles had a great texture, and the sauce was seasoned very well. It came with a savory salad and a sweet fruit salad on the side. I liked those ok, but didn’t enjoy having a sweet salad smooshed up against the savory salad; the tastes are not good to mix. I also found the sweet salad to be too sweet. Great service, great décor, great location on a quaint street.

Very few vegan choices in this area, but this one is raw food done very, very well. It’s also not for profit! Definitely will go back!

Even if you aren’t a strict vegan, this raw vegan restaurant rocks! The service is exceptional, and the variety and flavors of food is phenomenal. It’s also BYOB. Make sure you are hungry when you go, because you’ll want to try everything!

This was a refreshing change to the everyday fast food. The service was excellent and they offer a sample platter so you can choose what you like best. I had the Spaghetti with their marinanra sauce, delicious, also had a chi-latte cheesecake for dessert. I will definately be back more than once. yumm!

I came in here today for the first time. I had no idea Lockport would have a Vegan restaurant let alone a great vegan restaurant! This place is amazing and the owner and the staff are awesome. You can tell that the owner and her staff truly love what they do and they all do it well! They took the time to explain exactly what was in the dishes I was ordering. I had the steak(not really steak obviously) and it was to die for and it was a great size portion. I then had a piece of their almond cream pie and it too was amazing! If you are in the area I would encourage you to visit this gem. Amazing food and staff!

I’m not a Vegan, my mother is. She told me about Vegan Café’ and I thought I’d try it. I was blown away by the creativity and innovative ideas that I have seen in a long time. I do food for a living, and am playing with recipes for packaging at work. I can’t even remember the last time that I went to a restaurant and had such amazing food. The staff is wonderful, the food is exquisite, and the location will keep you coming back for sure!!! Thank you again for a fabulous dinner!

WOW. THANKYOU, JOANNE&BILLFORINTRODUCINGMETOTHISGEM! Marguerite is awesome! !!! She will bring you our a little sample of all of the sauces ob the menu. . She believes in making sure you like what you order. I had the mushroom burrito & the taco burrito. Both were very good, bit I’d go with the mushroom next time. A beautiful presentation, with a salad and salsa. Fantastic! I took a piece of the almond butter pie home. I’m sure it will be heaven, too!

Before anyone even brought us water, we were served a sample platter of their various«meats» and sauces. It was a fun way for us non-vegans to figure out what to order. I had the Eggless Egg Salad which is a yellow cashew cream salad with celery, scallions, and diced red pepper served open face on a flatbread, along with a side salad with garlic ginger dressing. The dressing was fantastic! So much flavor and just enough ginger heat. The egg salad was tasty too. Don’t expect it to taste just like egg salad. The texture and color are the same, but it tastes different than eggs. It was delicious in it’s own right. This is a darling little place with great food and friendly staff. And the tips are donated to the TLC Animal Shelter!

Neither my wife nor I are vegans, but our son is, so we made the trek here from several suburbs away for dinner last night. It was fabulous! We were very impressed with the quality and flavors of the food and we were particularly impressed with the service. Since this was our first visit, they provided us with a sampler so we could understand their various entrees and sauces. That helped us to order dishes more to our liking. The fruit salad was inspirational. The price was commensurate with the high quality. I have a unique food allergy and the woman running the place custom-made a dish without my problem spice in it. We experienced the best level of service we have encountered in many years. I really liked the zucchini pasta substitute and am going to have to learn to make that at home. The décor is interesting, too. I highly recommend trying this restaurant even if you are not a vegan. We have been to vegan restaurants in several major cities around the country with our vegan son and this had the best food and service of any we’ve encountered yet.

Very seriously the best vegan restaurant I’ve been too. So amazing. We got the vegan nachos, vodka pasta and cranberry cheesecake. SOGOOD. NOM. They have the most friendly staff and cute atmosphere. Everything is healthy and seriously delicious. I would bring my meat eating friends here and they would be satisfied, only downside is that they are a little costly but it’s only because the quality of the ingredients. If I could I would eat here every day.

Excellent! Staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the new owner stops and talks to all of her customers, answers questions, shares samples of new menu items. My husband’s favorite dish is the«steak» burrito(one of the original meat and potatoes guy), made from portabello mushrooms. I’ve had some of the«pasta» dishes, made from zucchini«noodles». Although she does not sell liquor, you may bring in a bottle of wine. Everything is fresh and delicious! We’ve gone to this resteraunt at least 3 times since August – and we live in Downers Grove!

I’m a big fan. I wish there was one like, in my apartment building. Butttt then I would have no monies. I’ve recently gotten into raw foods and am always looking for new restaurants or recipes. I’ve even completed a raw challenge posed by Brad’s Raw Foods. I found this place on Unilocal(Obv) and have been twice so far. First, their mission is pretty admirable. All volunteer-run and a non-for-profit. Proceeds benefit the Thanks Jordan Foundation; check their website for more info. Moving onto the actual café: it’s a small-ish size, filled with oddly-shaped tables — they’re shaped like leaves! There is a lot of art around; the front window states that not only is it a café, but it is an art gallery as well. Next door you will find the Naked Sprouts Organics store. I was told that everything sold there is organic. There is a also a juice bar in said store, so, if you order a juice(Or bottled drink) at the café, they run next door to the store to fetch it for you. Yes, I’m trying to make«fetch» happen. So, the food. I just love raw food so I bet it would be hard to disappoint me with it. I’ve only ordered the leaf wraps — AMAZE. You choose either a pumpkin seed or cashew«cheeze» and can pick four items to put in the wrap. It(And all entrees) is also served with two side salads, one is usually a greens salad and the other is a fruit salad. The first time I went, my friend got cucumber rounds(Which aren’t on the menu on the website) and the second time, Al B. got the«El Burrito Loco»(Also not on the menu on the website). Both friends gave their meals two thumbs up. I have also heard good things about the juice bar, but I’ve only gotten bottled green kombucha whilst dining there. I’ve also tried their vanilla macaroons for desert. While VERY delicious, I often make the same thing at home, so I’d personally skip it in the future. The only downside is the price. For me, it’s worth it. The food is fresh, healthy, raw, vegan, and organic, which is inherently expensive. BUT! Keep an eye out for their Groupons. My server mentioned it the first time I went and I went and bought one. When searching for it, search for«vegan», not«raw.» They also offer classes, which I found when searching for«raw» on Groupon.

What an amazing place for vegans and carnivores alike! Everything is organic and raw and prepared fresh to order. The impressiveness of the food was matched by the amazing service. This is a local business worth supporting. EATHERE! No really… Eat here.
