The prep staff at this Mighty were incredibly rude. Not only were they rude to me but they were rude to the poor cashier, who I think was new. They yelled at her in front of many customers. I felt terrible for her. Customer service is very important!

Lovin’ Spoonful(AKA Norb has opinions on everything Restaurant Division:) Mighty Taco: The first Mighty Taco opened at 1247 Hertel Avenue in Buffalo, NY on August 31, 1973 with four original owners: Dan Scepkowski, Andy Gerovac, Ken Koczur, and Bruce Robertson. Today, Mighty Taco Inc. proudly operates 23 restaurants in the Western New York area. With nearly four decades of continuous operations, Mighty Taco has become synonymous with fast, delicious, Buffalo-styled Mexican food. I used to visit a Mighty franchise on Sheridan Drive and Grover Cleveland in the 70’s that is now gone and was pleased they opened a branch in Lockport. My wife and I went to the Mighty Taco located on Transit for diner last night. This is one of our regular restaurants. She got a Meatless Super($ 2.19) on a White burrito shell, Medium Sauce, and Sour Cream(0.40) I got a Super Mighty Beef,($ 2.99), White, Medium and Sour Cream($ 0.40). We shared a Medium Pepsi($ 1.79). Just a note on the«Hot, Medium or Mild» option they offer. It all depends on who adds the hot sauce. I’ve had medium that lingered with me till I got home and hot that was barely detectable. They could use some type of dispenser that standardizes the amount of sauce according to the order. I got a veteran’s discount due to my service in the Navy in the late 60’s of $ 1.17. You have to have a card available from the county clerk to get this discount. As an aside, this is a great thing for veterans to get, costs you nothing and gets you discounts on many services and in many restaurants.(We seldom go anywhere without some kind of discount). The meal was served quickly. The restaurant was clean and we had no problem finding a clean table. In fact all the tables looked clean. I visited the rest room on our way out and it was quite spacious and clean. The condition of the rest room frequently reflects the cleanliness of the restaurant overall including the back rooms the customer doesn’t see. The only problem I noticed was there was no waste can in the bathroom. We have been to 4 different Mexican Restaurants in the last year and although Mighty doesn’t offer«authentic» Mexican, The Buffalo style Mexican food along with it being fast and delicious will keep us coming back again and again. They get a 9 out of 10 and I recommend it. In an interesting update, you can now send an order of frozen Mighty to anyone in the usa. This would be a treat for a Western New York expatriate who has moved out of the area.

My first time at Mighty Taco. Wasn’t impressed. Service was bad, staff was rude, and food wasn’t good. You spend $ 20+ on food for the family and can’t even get a refill on your drink. My mother went up to ask for something and the staff just looked at her and completely ignored that she was standing there.

I love Mighty and have been at many locations but this one(lockport) is the worst. If they get your order correct you’re still not in the clear. They rinse their veggies(which is normal and great) but your burritos is always going to be soggy because they don’t drain the water and literally leaks(not drips) water. I hate to be that critical but it happens 85% of the time. Last time I was in there a male manager was screaming his head off at his staff. Oh well. Might my still rules though.

Whenever I fly back to buffalo, this is the first place I stop. My parents recently moved out of Lockport and didn’t tell me where they were going, so I may just try to live at MT. Don’t take this place for granted because once you leave WNY she will be all you can think aboot.

I don’t live in Buffalo anymore and miss Mighty Taco sooo badly! Taco Bell doesn’t compare and never will. When I go back home to visit I try and stop in and get a chicken burrito and apple empanada. The prices are reasonable. Great place to grab a quick bite!

Mighty Morphin’ Taco Rangers! I can’t say enough about Mighty Taco! When I been out at a party or maybe a bar and had one beer too many, Mighty is a great place to go. I get my tacoes super hot then… makes me forget about the terrible pain in my head. Real Mexicans might laugh at Mighty, but for me, fake Mexican can sometimes be more real than real Mexican, especially if you’re thinking of Montazooma. Stay away from the fish taco. Who would invent such a thing? PROS: Lots of cheap fast food. CONS: Gas.

A standard Buffalonian institution. Migh-ty ta-co, Migh-ty ta-co, Migh-ty ta-co. You know what I’m talking about, Buffalo. Yeah, it’s cheap and scores a pretty low number on the food IQ test, but it’s oh so good. Get a super mighty combo with loganberry. Throw in a cookie and you’re golden. Counter service. paper products. Love it!

I am from the west coast and my sister lives in this area; my sister has gone off on this place to me, about how disgusting this place is(and I mean on and on). So I insisted we go and eat here(how bad can it be)? My sister says the locals love this place and go on about how fantastic it is… well the results are below: I ordered a Veggie Taco that came with a 3 inch slice of White cheese in the middle of it; at first I had no idea what the white cheese slice was; after my first bite I found out! I have never had white AMERICAN cheese in taco before and I will say I will not ever again. I am gagging right now thinking about that HUGESLICE of CHEESE. This wasn’t a sandwich slice either this was a HUNKSLICE! I did like that they gave you tostitos with a tostitos salsa cup when ordering chips and salsa; you wouldn’t get that out west. We do not have loganberry out west; it is a little too sweet for my taste buds. I am still not sure what it is either and can not describe it. The food is cheap; but I can not in good conscience recommend it for the masses. Sorry New Yorkers!

The fact is that you can get a simple, tasty, satisfying meal at Mighty Taco for less than five bucks. I usually like to get the Beef & Bean Burrito w/lettuce and tomato, and sometimes an order of nachos(chips and melty cheese sauce). If I add a loganberry, which sometimes I do if I’m feeling nasty, my grand total comes to just over $ 4.00. A new favorite is the Burrito De-Lite, made of beans, chicken, lettuce and salsa wrapped in the burrito-size tortilla. I guess it’s Mighty’s offering to those of us watching our weight. While I was in college in Boston, my mom would sometimes come visit me and bring me a half dozen Mightys which I would hoard. They keep for a few days in the fridge but not much longer — word to the wise. The Lockport location is only about ½ mile from my house, and the drive-thru lane is quick.
