The Game Show Escape Room

My husband and I brought my niece age 13 and nephews age 15 and 11. We joined a team of 8 other people in our group. The room seemed pretty small for all of us at first, but as we quickly begin working together to solve the puzzles and find the clues, the space was not an issue. The host was friendly and helpful when we needed him. We made it out with 1 minute to spare. We all had a great time. Perfect for families, date night or group parties.

A group of friends and I decided to try The Escape Room Game… We were excited to hear they had a Livonia location and we didn’t have to schlep all the way to Royal Oak just to be «trapped» in a room for a hour.
There were four of us and we were paired up with another group of four. While I understand the business owners want to get the most «bang for their buck» by putting as many people as possible in the room, it was a detriment to us. The group of four had been to a couple of other «Escape the Room» type of events and knew basically what to do/​look for. We didn’t really get a chance to try solve anything…
I would recommend the owners try and pair inexperienced participants with other inexperienced participants. It will make for a more enjoyable time for everyone.
Despite that, the owners were nice enough. They need to better mark the location. It’s in a block of businesses in an industrial park and if I hadn’t seen my friend standing in the lobby, I would have walked past.

Compared to other escape rooms i have been to this one was the most disapointing. there was no theme and décor style despite being advertised as a dr jekyll basement. it looked like random items placed in the room. even its billed as three rooms, its real just one room in function. The puzzles were also not clearly defined and were at times too easy. would not recommend.

This was our groups second escape room. We had a group of 8 and there was a group of 2 with us.
The host stays in the room with you the entire time. That was weird and different than our last room. There is no explanation of what you need to do to escape, but the host is there to help.
It took us less than 30 minutes to solve all but one of the puzzles. We were disappointed by how quickly we got to that point. That last part was challenging and took us a long time to figure out. We finally had all the things we needed to escape, but couldn’t figure out the order because the previous team switches things around. The host had to tell us that. We managed to escape with a few minutes to spare.
10 people is too many for this room. 8 is the perfect number. If this had been our first room, we might have thought it was better. Unfortunately our first room set the bar very high!

Great concept but we have nothing to compare this to. It does require some thought. The only recommendation I have is bring a group of your own friends. There were 10 people in our group and my wife and I were in our own group. With that said, the other group did not communicate anything they found to us so we were very uninformed on what was going on. Aside from that its an interesting thing to try if you like the mystery and puzzles.

I have been to 3 escape rooms previously and this escape room was a huge disappointment. The woman «hosting» the challenge was apathetic and was in the room on her smart phone the whole time not paying attention. There was no presentation prior to entering the room. The room was actually 3 rooms randomly decorated with no theme and the lights were on the whole time. The puzzles were way too abstract and poorly constructed. I would NOT recommend this escape challenge. Very disappointing!!!
