Nice, no complains.
compare to other theaters, this is better.
a little older, ok but very clean and seats are amazing.
one note: don’t watch a movie that just came out since the theater will be busy and not many seats available
its best for week days if you want to take a whole row for your self.
but overall beats any movie theater seats by a mile. I enjoyed the movie and felt like i’m watching at home.
i just wish i came with my PJs :-) its awesome.

I get it now. It took me several years but I finally understand the appeal of this theatre.
I’m from a country where everything is small. An average theatre may have 5 – 6 screens, complete with ugly carpet and an ancient concession stand. Sure, we have the occasional ‘megaplex’ but those are few and far between.
Phoenix theatres in my mind always reminded me of the theatres I grew up with. So I never went. I’m in America now (que singing angels and a beam of light) — ain’t nobody got time for no ugly theatres.
Is it ugly here? A little, but it’s clean! It’s a bid odd all around. You buy the tickets at the same spot as your concessions (what the what?), the self playing piano is a little creepy, but here comes the appeal: every seat is a big fat leather recliner!
It’s like you’re chilling on one large couch with 100 of your closest strangers. So Cozy. The seats are comfy, they’re large and they fully recline. Even a front row seat doesn’t suck here because your head-​to-​butt-​ratio is off. as in, your butt is closer to the screen than your head. No more neck cramps!
It’s cheap-​ish here and the seats are bomb. I’m definitely coming back!

Love love love the reclining seats! The employees are friendly and quick to respond to questions or issues. The ticket purchasing at the concession counter is a little different, but genius to increases food/​drink/​candy sales. Clean theater and temperature is always perfect. We only go to Phoenix!

My new favorite place to see a movie. The reclining chairs are the only way to go. The theaters are clean and never that crowded, What else can you ask for.

Holy Moley The Seats Are Comfortable! Love the love seats! My wife and I roll love seat style in full recline! You have to be careful with the sweets though because you will crash from a sugar high and fall asleep in these comfortable seats!
Video and sound is great here too. Prices are great!
The luxury seats take up a lot more space so there are fewer seats per theater.
This is our go to movie place when we dine in the area.
I wish they had some good pinball machines to play.
I wish they had more Groupons so I we could go more often!

This place was recently renovated and it’s pretty great. Buy your tickets and snacks at the same counter, then mosey on in to the theater, where you’ll find lush, cozy, oversized reclining seats with cup holders and arm rests on each side. Put your feet up and relax!

My boyfriend and I just recently started going to this location. It’s closest to his house and we usually always go during matinée pricing. The food is actually a descent price and it’s never too busy when we come (mostly because we come early on the weekend). The staff seem nice and they are helpful. We went Friday July 10^th and he bought tickets for his two brothers himself and I for minions 3D and the 3D never worked. The young women tried to help us as much as she could and than the assistant manager gave us free tickets and we got to watch it in regular instead. It is always a overall good experience. But to be honest, everyone comes for the amazing seats they have. That’s why my boyfriend I love this place!
They should get a photo booth and sell alcohol, than it would be the best!

The comfy leather reclining chairs for all seats in all theaters go a long way towards making this place rate a 4! Prices are OK, not as high as AMC and not as low as MJR. Theaters are smallish. They don’t show all the big movies, but they get some (like Jurassic World right now). Theaters, restrooms and public areas have been clean each time I’ve been there.

I am really struggling between 4 and 5 stars on this movie theater. If I could give it a 4.5, I think that would be the more ideal score, but since I can’t, this gets a 5, because it has become our go to theater in the area. In fact, my wife refuses to visit the other theaters.
The main reason for the high score and this being our regular place of movie business is because of the theater setup. If you have never been here, they have outfitted each theater with leather love seat recliners. Each one has the capability to be a love suite for you and your bae, a traditional oversized movie theater seat, or a fully stretched out recliner. I have never felt so similar to my own living room than at this theater. It allows me to get so relaxed that I can completely become engrossed in the movie on the screen.
The theater also has moderately cheaper prices than the competition and they also have a weekday and weekend matinees. The concessions are still overpriced, but that appears to be the case at all, except for the discount theaters that show movies after they have been in the regular theaters for 2 – 3 months.
Overall, this theater is a great place to catch a movie. The only downside is that it is smaller than the AMC 20 down the street, so if you are looking for that obscure limited release independent film, you will probably have to go somewhere else. For the frugal movie goer that wants to enjoy a movie while being completely relaxed, this is the ideal location.

Used to go here because it was cheaper than AMC 20. Your experience is really dependent on what theater you get. Saw «Gravity» the weekend it came out — big screen /​awesome experience. Have gone to see movies that have been out for a few weeks — smaller theater /​like watching a big screen TV. Will pay the extra $ 2 to go somewhere else where I am guaranteed a «movie-​going» experience.

Good place to go. Small and quaint. Seats are so comfortable. Reasonably priced and good for kids.

Best theater there is! I will only see movies here. The seats are amazing and the service is great.

We have been going to the Phoenix for a few years now. It is a little less expensive than AMC and is «cozy». Now that they have installed these new seats it is like watching a movie in your den. Try it !

I am very proud father who takes him fam tho out for a good flick. I have 3 kids. Named Toyos, Toj, and Tinuk. We decided to see Monkey Kingdom because very mischievous monkeys are great. Aslo remind me of my kids. I first walk into theater and seen a piano playing itself. That was VERY peculiar to me since no player. I then started to yell really loud saying «play dat ray charles ish thats the classics». We then got our tickets from the manager, he looked p dope and definitely looked real Ster tho. We got our tickets and took our seats. It was very comfy and had recliner seats tho. I reclined and relaxed because cant a hitta kick back. The movie was hype af. I was screaming and so we’re the other bois in the theater. All was good until my eldest son toyos started doing his trademark DEY GEEEEEEEEE sounds. I was very disappoint and beat him with belt when we got home.
Overall, good movie theater. Had a good time tho. But the highlight of the night was the cool hitta on the good to know you sign on the way in.

P.s i almost forgot, my son toj did not like the movie. So i barked for a free movie tho because free stuff like obamacare tho. And we got it. So also make sure to ask for a free movie too.

Phoenix Theatre is honestly a gem in the Livonia area. A half mile away away the much more expensive AMC theatre, Phoenix Theatre is a breath of fresh air. I wrote previously that I adored the piano in the lobby — still do. Ticket prices are incredibly cheap. Food is reasonably priced, while still being delicious.
The best part, however, is that this location has brand new recliners. In every theatre. At every seat and, unlike the snobby Emagine theatre, you can seat wherever you like without feeling like you’re above or below others.
Service is always great and the employees always greet me with a smile and kind attitude. The place itself gets pretty packed on a weekend evening so I do recommend going either for a matinée on Friday or anytime during the weeknight.
I’ve been to this location well over 20 times over the past 10 months and I will continue going. Hidden gem of Laurel Park Place.

I almost hate writing this review because I am going to give away one of the best kept secrets in area move theaters. I went to the Phoenix on New Year’s eve. The experience was very cool. First of all, they have put recliners in to each and every theater. Full blown recliners. You get to lay back, feet full up and enjoy the movie. I hope they are durable because I won’t be going to any other theater in the region from this point forward unless they put in these seats. New carpeting, new reclining seats, the place is a hidden jewel.
Then, to makethe evening ever more special, before the movie even started, the owner of Phoenix theaters (independent theaters) and yes, I said THE OWNER, got up in front of the theater before the show and wished everyone a happy new year and thanked them for their business throughout the year. Then invited them to enjoy the renovations, the new recliners and the shows. I wanted to work for this guy RIGHT THEN AND THERE. This was something right out of the good old American folklore book. BRAVO Mr. Phoenix. You mad the close of a cruddy 2014 and the entrance of 2015 very special.

Will not go anywhere else! They are cheaper then surrounding theaters in ticket prices and concessions, and they just upgraded their seating. Every seat is a giant recliner! You can almost fully recline! Big spacious seats! Friendly employees! Forget AMC, go here!

This is a small movie compared to AMC and Emagine but it’s cozy. The theater is clean and have comfortable seats with cup holders and the regular expected things. You get the tickets and concession at the same time which is nice instead of having to be in two different lines.
I’ve always had good movie experience at this location. It was very few people when we went here but probably due to the movie we went to, «The Grand Budapest Hotel». Sometimes you have to take one for the team ;-)

Neat theatre… Sometimes it’s nice not to go to a ‘mega plex” theatre, and this is a great option.
It’s a smaller theatre located near the Laurel Place mall. They offer first run shows. I would say the costs are comprable with other theatres in the area.
The theatres are smaller and offer a lot of leg room. It’s cute, the seats in the back of the theatre (at least the one we were in) had love seats. A lot of couples would take one and cuddle, but my husband and I each scoped one for each of us.
The picture was good. The sound was good. There were hardly any previous which was extremely nice!
The sell popcorn, soda, candy, coffee and hummus. Never saw hummus offered as a snack before, but it’s cool!
Only downside was there didn’t seem to be any cup holders…
The player piano in the lobby was cute.
I’ll be back!

I’ve only been here twice and it’s been alright. The theaters are kind of small. The cup holders are on the seat in front of you so it could be troublesome if you are in a full theater.
The ticket prices are reasonable, but the last time I went to see the movie, the screen seemed very small. We were near the back, but there were definitely a few rows behind us. I don’t necessarily expect an IMAX screen that takes up my peripheral vision, but I would’ve needed blinders to make the viewing more enjoyable.
The last theater that I was in had an elevated row near the doors with some loveseats where I guess you could canoodle while watching. I saw an action movie the first time, so sound and noise levels seemed fine. The second time I went, it was a quieter movie, and we could hear groups of people entering and exiting films as well as some sound pollution from other movies playing at the same time.
It’s right next to Laurel Park Place, but it’s on the first floor of what seems to be an office building, so it doesn’t feel as grand as newer locations.
