I’ll start this review off by saying that I did not end up having a serious foundation problem that required any other services from this company other than an inspection.
I gave FSM a try because… hey…how many other foundation people do you know? I’ve seen the commercials. I wanted to get my cracked floor joist checked out by someone knowledgeable.
Todd showed up right on time. He checked out my cracked floor tiles in the kitchen as well as my joist in the basement. He didn’t see anything wrong with the foundation so thankfully it was just a matter of normal settling (and poor tile installation). Todd was extremely professional, honest and incredibly knowledgeable.
I’d definitely recommend FSM to anyone who is in need of an inspection… or even a repair. The whole process was easy. Color me impressed.

What a great company! I highly recommend FSM and suggest you stay away from Everdry. I am really astounded to see more good reviews are not here on Unilocal for FSM.
FSM gave us an incredibly reasonable quote, brought brochures, a detailed diagram of our problems with excellent photos and were kind and respectful of us. This has not been the case with other companies. Everydry brought a 3″ LED Flash light and complained they couldn’t see in our crawl. Are they kidding, it’s a crawl what did the expect?
FSM came out without demanding my husband be present which was not the case with the other companies I called.
FSM explained everything very well and with ease and provided options other companies did not offer. For example our house had no entry point for the crawl and in fact we had no idea there was a crawl because the previous owners had it so well hidden. It turns out the crawl is wet and stinky. We pulled up carpeting to have new carpeting put in and were overwhelmed with a smell of must. This required us to pull up the subfloor and find a crawl and not a slab as were told when buying the house. FSM has offered to put in an access so if we ever encounter future problems we don’t have to tear out carpeting again and rip up the subfloor. No other company offered or had a product for this but FSM did and told us about it.
We have a 431 sq foot crawl that was not encapsulated properly we had quotes from other companies as high as $ 17,800 that would have included annual fees to maintain the warranty and other BS! None of this will happen with FSM. FSM’s quote was under $ 7K and that was with a much greater scope of work than offered by the other companies… We received options from FSM starting as as low as $ 3200 and not exceeding $ 7,000 for the maximum in options.
EVERYDRY quoted over $ 8500 just to encapsulate the area with nothing else!!! That is a joke!
FSM is a great company with excellent employees who were very pleasant and nice to talk with.
These kinds of things are stressful, disruptive and not what you want to spend your money on, I felt so much relief and confidence after FSM left our house.
We are able to move forward with our renovation on our new home and get moved in and have our new carpet put in with no hold ups because FSM had great options and explained them well.

Get a second and third opinion!
FSM contractor was kind, courteous and completely unscrupulous in his assessment of the state of my home’s foundation issue.
The recommendation was a remediation costing over $ 7,000 and there was pressure to sign the same day and put down 10% to guarantee a work date.
We signed. Please learn from my mistake.
Whatever you do, don’t sign. It’s a contract. If you do, you have 3 days to cancel or your «hold fee» is considered the «deposit» mentioned in the fine print on the back of the work order and you run the risk of losing it.
Get a second opinion. There are several contractors that will come out for free and quickly if you own the home.
I’ve had two additional licensed and reputable contractors confirm that the proposed solution by FSM was certainly far enough beyond educated reason to be considered unethical.
Both recommended to wait until spring and hire structural engineer if we are still worried.

no, the discussion with the production manager did not help, I checked the results with a hose, and water pooled on 2 slabs, but at least not right by the house. The third slab collected a large pool, right next to the foundation, under the basement window. A sickening waste of money that could have gone toward pouring new slabs. When I saw how bad it really was, I was not optimistic that any improvement could be done, and got totally discouraged about the situation.

I called on a Tuesday or Wednesday to have someone come out and inspect my basement. Amy is the one who helped me on the phone and she was so nice and helpful. She said they could have someone out that Friday to come take a look, which pleasantly surprised me.
I got a call early Friday afternoon saying that the inspector was running early. My lucky day. When does that ever happen?! I had Randy as my inspector and he was very personable. He took me around the basement telling me what he was looking for and answered all the questions I had.
I can’t vouch for any of their work as the work we had done was contacted through the builder but I am very happy with the inspection. Randy was very thorough and seemed to know exactly what he was talking about.

**Horrible** experience. Tried very hard to get the issue corrected with company and had zero luck. We really feel duped and taken advantage of. If you check the BBB they have three closed complaints on record and are about to have yet another one. Find another company, please… as I do not want someone to experience what we did.
