Drs. Shaw & Jane have been providing care for patients in Livonia and the surrounding communities for over 50 years. Alfred L. Shaw started his practice in the early 1960’s and was joined by James A. Ginzler in 1978 and later by his son Randall L. Shaw in 1988. The practice utilizes the most advanced technology to provide their patients with the most efficient and effective Orthodontic treatment available. We offer Invisalign, Invisalign Teen, The Speed System, and the SureSmile system.

Dr. Shaw was one of the few students accepted into Dental school after only 3 years of undergraduate study at the University of Michigan. In 1984 he received his degree in denstistry from the University of Michigan. From there, he went straight into his orthodontic residency at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri and graduated witha a Masters of Science in Orthodontics. After graduation in 1986, he joined the practice of his father, Dr. Alfred Shaw and Dr. James Ginzler. He had the pleasure of working with both doctors until his father’s retirement.

Dr. Shaw was the first orthodontist in the state to be certified to use the SureSmile system. This revolutionary technology ustilizes the latest advances in 3-​D tooth simulation. Your teeth are perfectly aligned using a computer model so that every necessary movement can be calculated and programmed into your braces and wires. By combining this with the Speed brackets, treatment times can be greatly reduced.
