As I went into this restaurant I got remembrance of a Big Boys. If you haven’t been to big boys basically it’s a food chain, that has a breakfast bar, big space and mediocre service. As a lady took me and my mother to our seat I saw a breakfast bar(which big boys also has) the seating arrangements also were similar in many ways. The lady was very nice asking us for a drink, and as she returned she asked for our food right after with a warming smile. I decided to get a «Annie’s double decker» because I wanted to compare it to the«Big Boy» I asked for there«Zesty Sauce» on the side because I assumed it was some 1000 island dressing.(Which I really dislike) The food took at least 8 – 12 minutes to get out which if you didn’t know is pretty fast considering its a Sunday morning and all. I got my burger and fries and my mother got her club sandwich. I took a bite into my burger and the burger was dry(which was typically normal if you had something taken off of it such as zesty sauce) My mother insisted for me to put the zesty sauce on the burger, but I just dipped a fry in there to taste it. It was most definitely not 1000 island dressing, it was something different something… «Zesty» it was really good. I spread it all over my burger and and bit in, my burger was no longer dry and tasted 10 times better. The fries were very seasoned and cooked to perfection, they weren’t to big and not to shoe stringy also not Kringle, but something different, very good especially in the Zesty sauce. The service was fast and helpful asking for refills and even for a box. The atmosphere in general was a 5⁄5 and a very clean building.

I love Annie’s! Very nice owner and staff. They are accommodating to their guests and the food is great. I won’t eat a tuna melt anywhere but here. You can tell that the staff here cares about the customers and their needs.

Used to be a Big Boys. Nicer inside now. Good service. Good food. Lots of parking. We will be back.

Love this place! We go here at least once a week. Friendly staff, fast service even when they’re busy, drinks are never empty, good portion sizes and I’ve never had a meal i didn’t enjoy.

Very rude waitresses and smelly. Won’t be going back. Sad you have to be treated poorly and pay for it too

The food is good here, my only issue is with some of the waitress staff. How hard is it to check back to see if I need a refill on my drink? Apparently too hard. Drop my food, check back 5 minutes later and drop the check(which is also bad imo) — then never see them again. They’re not all like this but some of them need a refresher course in customer service. Only reason for two stars.

We(my boyfriend and I) had breakfast here on New Year’s Eve and had a great experience. We went in with the expectation of diner food from Livonia — it is a diner in Livonia, after all. We were impressed with the amazing service — from the moment we entered the door we were treated warmly with fast and friendly service. They had great specials and we both enjoyed our meals. He had the breakfast combo and I had the salad bar & coffee. We would definitely go again and encourage everyone to check them out.

Kinda pricey and not that much flavor I have had a lot better for price at other diners don’t think we will be coming back anymore even though the service has always been good but when it comes down to it I’m all about the food!

We’ve been here for breakfast a couple times. It’s nothing to write home about but it’s not awful. Which is why 3 stars. I feel like 2 stars says it is suck-ish and 4 stars says it’s good-ish. It’s neither of these things in my opinion. It’s mediocre. It’s alright. It will do. They have a rather robust breakfast and salad bar. That’ll do pig, that’ll do.

Visited — March 2014 — Were they ready to Open?. This new Family Diner on Plymouth Road and Farmington isn’t really all that new. The diner replaced the old Big Boy last week and kept the same staff, mgt and owners. The article in the paper informed me that the Big Boy Franchise had ended their agreement with Big Boy and were branching out, opening a small family diner in its place. So I went… on opening day no less. I found it hectic, the servers definitely need some time to acclimate themselves. The menu although titles were different and layout, the choices were very similar. Gone are the trademark options like a slim jim. But they have an array of Burgers, Sandwiches and Entrees, as well as a salad bar. They added some higher end items, a steak, some salmon, and even some greek fare. But all in all, the menu felt strangely… Big Boy-esque. My food was… not great. But it was execution issues and I will return soon to see if they have ironed out all the kinks. I don’t know if this concept will be the shining star, too many of these diners are on the same stretch of road… a mix of early bird specials and gourmet and they don’t seem to do that well.

I am very happy that I stopped by Annie’s to support the one year anniversary the other day. Getting to see the owner’s son play and their long time friend sing old standards. I’m sure the owner Jim Morisi and his wife Annie are smiling down on the restaurant. Seeing so many empty businesses in Livonia, it’s great to see a family restaurant thriving. They have a number of burgers and great desserts that will surely suit everyone’s taste and they offer a very affordable price. I hope you can drop by the restaurant so that you can try there very yummy burgers and desserts. Its open until nine every night. Annie’s family Restaurant and Bake Shoppe provides good quality service and customers satisfaction. Im so thankful that Mr. Morisi opened this restaurant named after is beautiful wife.

Annie’s started out good but is not so good anymore. The waitress was very nice, the food was another story. My Husband had the spagetti, only ate a 1⁄3 of it, hardly no meat in the so called meat sauce. I had fish, it was so so. After reading the reviews of hair in food and drinks, we won’t be going back.

Just ate at Annie’s and wanted to like it because it’s in the neighborhood. We had a nice waitress; however we were seated near the table where the other servers eat their food. We heard about their health issues and disputes. Loud and not exactly dinner conversation. My breakfast for dinner was good; however my husband was not impressed with the fried chicken.

Cute, cozy ambiance– love the stone fireplace. Waitresses are friendly. Haven’t had a bad dish yet. The breakfast bar is perfect– hot, fresh, and not picked over. The angus beef sliders are super yummy, and the Reuben was out of sight. One of my family’s favorite restaurant!

The food is good, but it is terrible the amount of money they charge for substitutions Also the waitress acts like you should not want to change the side, she had a attitude and was hard to get her to come back when we needed stuff. The owner really needs to allow substitutions within reason.

Don’t waste your time or money going here. The food was terrible. No taste at all. Other than that, the waitress was nice and friendly.

I’ve been to Annie’s a couple times and I’ve always had pretty good food and good service. They cleaned up this place a lot(when it was Big Boy, it was dirty and sticky all the time). I had breakfast here once, which was pretty good, and most recently I steak tips with mushrooms over egg noodles. Everything was tasty and the portions are more than I can eat.

I have been going to this restaurant since they were once a part of the big boy chain. I’m not sure what is going on with them lately but the last 2 times that I visited the silverware had dried food stuck on them and the very last time I went, hair was on my plate… OHMY… I think restaurants are moving to fast these days not caring to double check how well their dishes are being cleaned or to just make sure they use hair nets, long sleeves to cover hairy arms or whatever is necessary to provide great overall service.

Annie’s sits along a busy commercial stretch of Plymouth Rd. with a unique sign proclaiming Annie’s Restaurant & Bake Shop. It was the«& Bake Shop» that caught my eye from the street as I was looking for a unique place to eat in a section of Livonia that I rarely travel through. Walking in, I was seated promptly but unfortunately, that is where the attentive service ended. I sat there for about 10 minutes without any sign of a waitress. Strike one. After flagging down the host who had seated me at a booth, I asked him to send a waitress over to take my order. She arrived a few minutes later with a vengeance along with an attitude. Strike two. I ordered a basic egg plate with Annie’s special French Toast made with their homemade cinnamon bread. The breakfast was actually pretty good despite the total lack of timely and friendly service. Two strikes for Annie earns a rare two stars.

It’s big boy with a new name. Skip the salad/soup bar. The salad toppings were flavorless– even the ranch dressing. The soups are fine– premade overly salty. I was impressed with the Annie burger. It’s a Big Mac on steroids. It was good. The fries were better than big boys. I looked at other dishes as they came out of the kitchen and nothing looked Wow. think GFC, prepared items. The cakes and pies looked yummy. The waitress was very nice.
