Todd Kamena, DDS

This place is awesome! All of the girls that work there are authentically kind and empathetic. I always have a positive experience whenever I get my teeth cleaned. Dr. Kamena is very honest. He is a great dentist and the entire atmosphere is beautiful. It can be very hard to find a place like this. I’m so glad I did! Dr. Kamena and his staff take very good care of my teeth & I always leave happy :)

Dr. Kamena is very professional and a wonderful dentist to go too. I have had the pleasure of going to Murrieta Dental for the last 5 years and it’s top notch. Dr. Kamena is also a very funny guy, so be prepared to laugh. I hate the dentist, however Dr. Kamena’s office is very comforting and puts you at ease. Highly recommended especially for all that are terrified of going to the dentist.

He and his staff are excellent! Great with kids too.

This staff is super friendly. They’re so patient when I ask tons of random questions. The cleanings are very gentle, and small talk feels genuine. They even remember details about me and my family that I shared in the last visit — they must take notes!
I’ve noticed that a couple reviewers dislike that Hygenists do the cleaning work. I’m a little confused as to why that’s a problem. That’s LITERALLY what hygienists are supposed to do! And all 3 of the ones I’ve experienced at Murrieta Dental Care have been fantastic, and Dr. Kamena checks my teeth every time at the end.
I’ve also spent time with the dental assistants in this office while having a number of procedures done. They too are very friendly, and I appreciate how relaxed they are. who wants to have medical procedures done by a team that is whirling around stressed out. that’s when mistakes are made. It brings me great comfort that the team is not in emergency mode all the time.

After telling my family to go here, I figured I might as well write a review on Unilocal.
The staff is great! From the smiling front desk and personal dental hygienists, to Dr. Kamena — they make you feel welcome and at home! They also make remembering your appointments easy with emails and friendly reminder calls. Having TVs to watch during your appointment doesn’t hurt either.
I’ve never stuck with a dentist for more than a year until Murrieta Dental Care, my dentist for 4+ years now.

I had to find a new dentist a couple of years ago when we moved to Livermore… embarrassing to admit but I had not been to the dentist in almost 10 years; my husband the same! I was terrified of the dentist but knew it was important to get in… well I had much work that needed to be done and deep cleanings. But, I kept coming back like they said to get things better. I request the same hygienist when I make my apt. so she sees my progress. Although, they all are good! Well, I was so excited the other day because I finally have noticed a difference– I was so excited that I told my husband I was so pleased with the dental office for keeping me going I needed to write a review! Trust me, I’m a HUGE baby when it comes to the dentist but, I am very happy and thankful to the staff and would highly recommend anyone who’s fearful!

This office is consistently awesome.
It is clean, new and bright. Can’t stand dark and dingy dental offices.
The staff is always nice and they don’t overbook appointments so there is never really a wait.
The TVs are really nice to watch while they are doing their work.

Fun, modern office, short waiting times, young attractive assistants, competent medical care, and they are even upgrading to free wireless.
It’s true he has his assistants do the cleaning — I have never been to a dentist where this is not the case. I do think the dentist should always be there to check their work and that is not always the case but I was asked in advance if I was OK with this so I cannot complain to what I agree to.
As for getting in an accident in the parking lot — really? You’re going to blame the dentist because you don’t know how to drive? Or if you have lousy credit and can’t come up with a credit card to pay $ 800, you expect the dentist to loan you the balance? Unreasonable if you ask me.
Anyhow, 5 stars from me, your mileage may vary.

Great experience as always! I went in for a filling and barely noticed it was happening! Great staff that are very friendly and Dr. Kamena is the best! I switched over to their office about a year ago after having a horrible experience with another dentist. They have a customer for life!

Two major issues:
* Dr. Kamena does NOT actually treat you 99% of time. He hires quite some assistants and registered dental hygienists (RDH) doing the actual job. The quality of the jobs highly depends who is actually working on you.
I learned this in a hard way. I made an appointment to do my deep cleaning. The procedure was divided into two sessions. Two different RDHs worked on me and I had HUGE trouble with one of the RDHs. It took me several followup visits to fix the problem. In the end, the problem still remains.
* The parking space is tight. My car was hit by another car backing up in the parking lot. I ended up paying $ 500 to fix my car’s bumper myself since no witness was around to tell whose fault it was. Ooch!
On the plus side, Dr. Kamena was nice and on top of the issues I was experiencing. But I would rather to be treated by the real dentist, not by a random RDHs with sloppy skills.

I was looking for a dentist who would do some crowns I knew I needed done and allow me to spread out my out of pocket costs. Dr. Kamena came well recommended by several friends and was willing to help my family out during a difficult time and let us make payments for the work between the two appointments required for a crown. His staff is very nice as is he. His office is clean, warm and comforting with all equipment appearing to be new and up to date. I was pleased with the work they did and now my husband is a patient as well.

Absolutely awesome and caring staff. Dr. kamena is by far the best dentist o have ever had. His team is also FANTASTIC! I have been going the last several months for some much needed crown work and no issues or pain. They are very thorough in explaining procedures and answering any questions you might have.
I still have a fear of going to the dentist but it has lessened a great deal now that I am in Dr. Kamena’s chair.

Great dentist, really on top of modern dental care methods and equipment. The digital sensor x-​ray system they have gives the patient a much lower dose!
Dr Kamena has been by dentist for years and I’m impressed with his care and knowledge. His work also lasts much longer than my previous dentist’s.
If you are looking for a Livermore dentist, I highly recommend Dr Kamena.

I had an appointment so I could get my dental work done and I was pretty excited to find a good dentist. I made the appointment finally after several attempts in trying to get in… word to the wise they are not open everyday… how convienent? NOT!
My appointment rolled by and I went in took me back and did my xrays and cleaning. The gal who cleaned my teeth was nice and very chatty… the dentist came in and was very friendly as well, talks about his son alot. The whole office environment kinda looks like they are always on «break» and having fun. Thats great and all but get to work.
Now I needed to get some work done, not bad a couple of cavities and when it came to payment time they would not work with me. I had a total of $ 800 and they were not willing to take ½ of the total and payments. Sorry, but some of us can’t pay the balance right away doesnt mean we are not going to pay the bill!!!
I instead went to another dentist who took payments and guess what 2 $ 400 payments and im all paid in full. STUPID DENTIST!!! WORK WITH PEOPLE!!!
Im the only one working for my entire family! I have deterred many from coming here and will continue to.

This is a long story, so I will try to keep it short. We recently moved to Livermore and needed a new dentist. I continued going to the dentist that I had been seeing for the last couple of years since I had already scheduled some root canal/​crown work. My husband searched for his dentist and with the help of Unilocal he found Dr. Kamena.
In the meantime, I didn’t know that my insurance had changed and that my dentist was no longer covered. I ended up paying way too much for my dental work (but when your teeth hurt you get pretty desperate for help). I continued to have pain that I suspected was from one of my crowns being too tall. I went back to my dentist a few times complaining of pain and he tried to help. He gave me antibiotics and tried sanding down the areas that looked too tall, but it didn’t help.
Then my husband recommended that I change to Dr. Kamena in Livermore since he really was pleased with the service and they are covered under our insurance. I called the office to see if they would see me and explained that my insurance had run out for the year. They got me in right away and took care of me.
Dr. Kamena confirmed my suspicions that the new crown was too high and needed a little adjustment. I’m not sure how my other dentist missed that in all of my previous visits. Dr. Kamena made the adjustment to my teeth and I am actually eating lunch right now and chewing on both sides of my mouth! I look forward to my exam in January and I feel like I’m finally getting my tooth health back on track. Thank you Dr. Kamena, I just wish we found you sooner!

5 visits later and I’m very satisfied!
Dr. Kamena and all his staff are pretty much as good as it gets for a dentistry.
They are approachable and professional.
Amber, one of the many hygienists, is my favorite– while they’re all kind, she’s def. the realest :)
You will not ever catch the receptionist gossiping, or an off-​handed look from the Dr., or any other painful experience here. I seriously appreciate their level of care.
*Tip: they do expect payment as service is rendered so ask ahead of time about the charges, as they do not accept payment plans :/​
You will not regret giving them a try!

I took my 1 year old daughter to see Dr Kamena today and he was AWESOME! The facility was very clean and provided excellent service. The waiting room had very comfy chairs along with a wide range of magazines. My daughter really liked the Dr. Sesuss books they had out.
The assistant became my daugther’s new friend. She was very warm and kid-​friendly. Dr. Kamena was able to look at her teeth and give his advice. He did not force his way in nor did he force the friendship. What a great experience.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Dr Kamena & Staff RULE!!! 5 stars plus infinity!!! SUPER FABULOUS & I just get an Honest vibe from them. Which unfortunately is hard to come by when searching for a dentist now a days.
The facility is Very Nice and Accomodating, felt more like a «Dental Spa» — makes going to the dentist a «Treat», no exagerration either!
There’s a flat screen television at each dental chair that entertains you while getting work done. Which is also used to show what is going on in your mouth, very cool.
If you’re looking for a dentist within the Tri-​Valley, I highly recommend this place for all of your dental needs.

I’ve been fearful of Dental-​work for many many years and the staff here at Murrieta Dental have regained my faith!
I was scared sh*tless about 3 months ago to go to a Dentist. It had been some time (years) since my last appointment and I was NOT looking forward to it. I had a massive toothache that I could not ignore any longer, so I decided to bite the bullet and «just go».
I was pleasantly surprised by their laid back atmosphere and personability. Mellisa at the front desk is the absolute NICEST person I have ever met. She’s just a really great person that helps you and answers 100 questions if you have ‘em.
Dr. Kamena is great too. He’s funny and makes you feel at ease. I told him I «hated Dentists» when I first met him and he knew I wasn’t lying. He was easy with me and explained everything he was doing and he even got me super numb and made SURE I couldn’t feel a thing before he started his work.
They have flat screen Tv’s that you can watch while in the chair. They even have chairs that massage you while you get work done as well.
The staff is great, location is great, it’s comfortable and I have been there 5x with not ONE complaint. I now look forward to scheduling my next appointment, and I’m not scared one bit!
Kudos to Dr. Kamena and his staff. This is truly a great establishment.
