Roto Rooter Sewer-Drain Service

They showed up within 3 hours of me calling around 2 pm today. Fixed a problem that was certainly not a DIY fix and the pricing was reasonable given the service quality, time to fix, and knowledge shared. I truly appreciate the fast response time.

Wonderful! they came on a holiday evening and took care of a nasty clog in our sewer. I had tried calling several small plumber businesses. but they were all closed for the holiday. They also didnt charge an arm and a leg!

I own multiple properties and have always used roto rooter for 20 years. They are the experts I trust to take care of all of my plumbing needs. They always done great work and if there was a consistent problem they get down to the issue and fix it right away. I would recommend them to everyone.

Easy to make an appointment, came out on time and fixed the problem! I feel maybe they were a bit expensive but they got the job done!

Prompt, professional service. Mike helped us and was a good guy as well, after 8pm on a Friday night. Recommend in a pinch!

Roto Rooter serving Alameda county (franchise) charges $ 70 just to show up and bad service.
WORST SERVICE EVER!!! PRICEY AND CAN’T EVEN FIGURE OUT WHAT’S WRONG IN MY SEWER!!! I guess since most of us don’t want to deal with stinky sewers and are not experts of everything, we call plumbers who are supposed to be «the expert» of what they do. But imagine calling over an «expert» who doesn’t have a clue on what’s wrong with your sewer and charge you with a whooping $ 70 (that’s the base rate. If they do a little more, which doesn’t mean it will fix your problem, is $ 235 if remember it correctly), how would you feel?
Here’s what the $ 70 was for:
— Asked me to flush toliets
— He listened to the pipes (less than a minute of his time)
— Blah blah about basic plumbing principles that I have also read on the internet (2 minutes of his time)
— He took a peek on a pipe (1 minute)
— Asked me to flush toilets again and run water in the tubs and showers
— Blah blah blah, scratched his head, and put the blame on my brand new washer, told me to call the appliance guy (3 minutes)
— It wasn’t my fault if he parked too far from my house so it took him several minutes in total to get/​return his lighting fixtures and grab an invoice. So they considered the visit 30 minutes even if it was barely 10.
Of course I had to pay the plumber who came over because he doesn’t make the decision on the fee, then I called their office to let them know of my dissatisfaction and spoke with the manager who was a bitch — bad plumbing service + worse customer service = furious customer.
My advice: If you don’t mind paying for $ 70 minimum fee for something you’re not even sure of getting an answer on what the problem/​solution is and pay about $ 235 or more if they do a little bit more intense checking, or fix a simple problem (if you’re lucky), then good luck with your $$$. BUT I THINK WE ALL DESERVE TO GET THE BEST SERVICE, NOT THE WORST, WITH THEIR PRICE POINT. THINK TWICE BEFORE CALLING THEM FOR SERVICE.

I try to support local business as much as I can, but was unable to get someone in a pinch so I called these guys. They said they were busy most of the day and would probably arrive in the afternoon. Instead, they showed up early (11am) and fixed the problem promptly (we had hair clogging up the shower drains). Their price was reasonable too.

I stopped using plumbing services many years ago as I had too many experiences with people wanting to charge more than needed, and got pretty good at snaking lines myself. This time, I couldn’t. Hesitantly I went and called roto rooter. Best experience with a plumbing service I’ve ever had!
Bill the technician was amazing. I thought for sure, they’d have to come in through the roof, but fortunately he was able to take care of it and taught me a few proactive things I should do better going forward.
There’s nothing like someone with 44 years of experience in the trade. Great personality, obviously knowledgeable and genuinely helpful
To top it off. Roto Rooter, gave me triple credit on a 10 dollar coupon!
I have a new appreciation and willingness to use them again. It will be this branch and I’ll be sure to ask for Bill!

I’m VERY disappointed with the service of the Roto-​Rooter in 333 N Canyon Pkway, Livermore location. They scheduled a 2−4pm hour time block where a technician was suppose to show up. Few minutes to 4pm NO technician showed and NO courtesy call from the company to let me know they were not going to make the time slot. So I called them & operator said that technician is finishing up and they would be there shortly…5pm rolls around, again, NO courtesy call. I had plans at 6pm for dinner with friends so I had to cancel my plans and continued to wait. 5:45pm rolls around and again, NO courtesy call. So I’m already disappointed of the unprofessionalism of NO courtesy to customer or customers time. Wait… story GETS BETTER! So I call them around 5:45pm about to cancel the service altogether and they said the technician is only a few minutes away so I said OK. 6pm rolls around… they call and said they couldn’t find the location, then the dispatch asks.“does your house have a lot of stairs?” I said I have a tri-​level. The rep says «i’m sorry, I can NOT send the technician that is on the way to your house» as the technician has knee problems. They wanted to reschedule… I said «HELL NO!!!» and cancel the service altogether and will call another plumbing company tomorrow to take care of it. I will NEVER call Roto-​Rooter again and I guarantee EVERYONE I’m in contact with will know about this story!!! I’m sooooo VERY disappointed in such a established company… I just expected more from you!!!

So I was taking the trash out in the dark the other night and noticed a funky smell. Yes, it unfortunately was a scent I was quite familiar with. Mostly from my time spent boarding in decrepit old Victorians in SF. Yep, that familiar smell was sewage. And I was standing, in the dark, ankle deep in it.
Just so you know, if you ever move into an old house (meaning, built before 1981), there are three things you should know: 1) have a quality plunger on hand 2) don’t make toilet paper beehives when preparing to wipe your ass 3) tampon flushabilty is a lie perpetuated by the feminine hygiene monopoly 4) trees can grow all up in everywhere… and I mean everywhere! (I think squirrels are to blame), okay make that four things…
To make a long story short, these folks came out twice (the second time for free!) to dislodge the following: tree roots, tampons, dooky, kitchen grease, carrot peelings, rice, coffee grounds, potato peels, tree roots, (yep, again), and tampons (again for old time’s sake) Notice I only mentioned dooky once, and this in a review of Roto Rooter!
The best part is, they showed up right on time, called to tell me they were on their way each time, honored their warranty, and made sure we only had to resort to public bathroom humility once (thank god for Mariner Square Athletic Club!)
