Richard’s Diesel Injection

I wish there was a negative star because I would rate this place a –10 STAR! I agree with the last review from Neil. Richard has a drinking problem and I had to get the police involved to get my truck out of the shop. Took weeks to diagnosis my trucks problem. He took apart my truck without my permission and then wanted to charge me thousands of dollars for diagnosis! When I finally had to flatbed my truck in pieces to Livermore Ford, they immediately told me that the truck did not have to be torn apart to diagnosis the problems I was having! Plus when the dealer looked at the parts Richard gave me back I was missing my EGR cooler and had to pay $ 600 dollars for a new one!
The dealer fixed my truck with upgraded parts for $ 2000 less then what Richard was going to charge me! I tried to give this guy the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe he had some type of handicap or something but as it turned out he was drinking and my 15 yr old son and I went down there to talk to him after trying to deal with him over the phone and he reeked of alcohol! Couldn’t believe it. Even the neighboring shop owners come out to talk to me when I was waiting with the police to get my truck out and they said they were not surprised as he was almost evicted and is always drinking.
Worst experience of my life in an auto repair shop. I hope he gets help, but in the mean time I would stay as far away from this place as possible unless you want to ruin your truck and get ripped off!

I had a high pressure oil pump to replaced in my F250. This criminal took 6.5 weeks to do the work. He wouldn’t call me back. When I went to shop he wasn’t there. When I finally got my truck is was not done right. At least it was running.
$ 3500 later. I had to bring it FJM in San Jose to have the truck fixed correctly. That cost me another $ 3500. It took FJM 3 days to do the same thing. I think there is a drinking or a drug problem here.
Best bet. Go somewhere else and save yourself a major headache.
This shop used to be great. Not anymore. Too bad…

I would avoid this place. The guy did about 7K worth of work on a ford that I purchased from a friend. The work was done about a year ago and we are still having problems with the truck. I have stopped by there once and his reply was I don’t know what to tell you I used good parts and I know I did a good job. I asked him what does that mean he said he doesn’t have an answer for me, the original owner has talked to him and was told I should bring the truck back again. Well he won’t answer his cell phone or his shop phone number. I guess I will have to stop at his shop, to be honest not sure I want him messing with this truck again. His shop is a mess and you can tell he does not take any pride in his craft.

Rich was really busy but he took the time to diagnose my duramax and told me how to fix it myself. Really nice guy.

My Ford F350 diesel a leaking oil from the rear pinion seal. Decided to give Richard’s a try. Richard had me back on the road in less than 2 hours. Fantastic service and the price was very reasonable. I wish I had a shop like this back home to have my diesel serviced.

So I previously reviewed this shop at 5 stars as follows «OMG– this shop is awesome. I don’t know where to begin– First off we were headed out of town and needed an oil change pronto. Richard did it the same day we called. To make matters BETTER it was done for a super reasonable price– only $ 15 labor plus parts (of course all the oil and filter for a diesel is not cheap). Finally, I was amazed when he let my husband take our truck without paying because we needed to pick the truck up after hours– basically he let the truck go on a hand shake and promise that we would pay. Obviously we paid him :-) but that is quite a thing to find in today’s world– just leaves you with a real „honest“ feeling about the shop in general.»
UPDATE: we have been back to this shop 3 – 4 times since and it has gone completely downhill. There have been numerous issues each time but in summary:
1) We are promised our truck on certain days to only have that day come and go with no call despite numerous inbound calls requesting calls back.
2) There was no written estimate provided as requires the the Bureau of Automotive Repairs. The final cost was about $ 150 more than verbally quoted.
3) When we have picked up our truck we found that some of the work requested was not completed meaning we have to go thru this whole ordeal again. No thanks!
Originally we thought we had found a hidden gem in the heart of Livermore but now it looks like we’ll be looking for a new diesel shop!

Terrible customer service!!! Unilocal made me put a star, if it were up to me he wouldn’t get any!
