I love having Sue do my hair. I always feel so pampered when I go into the shop. I’ve been going to House of Style for almost 8yrs. I love having Sue take care of my hair. My whole family goes to have their hair cut also. My husband has Amy cut his hair, he won’t let anyone else touch his hair. Everyone in the shop is very friendly, they are like family!!!

WORST SALON EVER — STAY AWAY!!! I made the mistake of falling for a cheap deal and purchasing a Groupon for this place — BIG mistake! I watched in horror as the owner started chopping off my daughter’s hair. I’ve had enough haircuts to know that she does not have a clue as to how to cut hair properly nor professionally. My daughter has thick hair and she just cut off the length in one layer without checking once for accuracy! She also never checked to see if both sides were even, which they clearly were not and I could tell sitting 20 feet away. At this point, I couldn’t handle what I was witnessing so I went up to her to question whether she would ever check to see if the sides were even. Then she became very defensive and claimed they were perfectly even and blamed my daughter’s hair for what appeared to be very uneven layers. I was appalled by her attitude and she noticed that I was getting upset, so she tried to turn the tables by making me look like a big complainer. Not acceptable to treat customers like that!
On top of all this, she said she had to charge me $ 10 extra: $ 5 for shampooing her hair because my daughter asked to have it washed (which is a total lie!) and $ 5 for styling, which is a total scam! It said on the Groupon that it was for haircut, blowdry and «style» so I questioned what «style» meant and she just muttered something that didn’t make sense, because she obviously had no reasonable explanation. She was probably just trying to recoup her loss since she knew I was not going to tip her at that point.
The salon also seemed very dirty and the owner had her dog there, which I think is disgusting and not the place for a pet to hang out all day. The dog probably knew it too because it looked sad and depressed just sitting there.
I should have listened to my instincts sooner and ran out of there as soon as I saw all the red flags, so I’m hoping this review will save you the time, money, and trouble that I endured. But if you don’t mind a poor quality haircut with bad service, then this might be the place for you. When we got home and my daughter washed her hair, the haircut was even worse than I initially saw at the salon, with one side a couple inches shorter than the other, uneven layers everywhere, and the back of her hair was cut at a slant. This shop really needs to shut down, as the owner is clearly in the wrong business.

After what I witnessed today, I’m surprised this place is still open! I purchased a groupon for a haircut and made an appointment for 1pm. I arrived 10min early and witnessed the hairstylist pick up large amounts of hair off of the floor with her hands, walk outside to put it in the dumpster and walk back inside to start cutting hair again!!! Absolutely unacceptable. I requested a refund through groupon and walked out.

I wanted to schedule a haircut, same day. I found a Groupon for House of Style. Sue was able to cut and style my hair — no wash. I called this morning and she was able to see me today. The salon is not fancy, but she did a great job and was very nice. I brought in a picture of the cut I wanted and was able to use my Groupon and get in and out very quickly.

Sue did a Beautiful job on my hair. Also really cared about what I wanted.
I got ombré and I love it. My hair is dark brown and she also covered the grays. The ombré is a beautiful transition to a dark brown to a dark blonde. I will post some photos!

Went here with a groupon that specifically stated it may be re-​purchased every 90 days and then on the phone I was told it was supposed to be for first time customers only.
I was still able to come in but you were able to tell they were clearly annoyed by me having a groupon.(If you don’t like people coming in with them, don’t offer is my suggestion).
The highlights were fine even though it didn’t look (at all) like the picture I showed them as example. Sue was kind of rude (since she «only makes half the money with a Groupon, but «customers are supposed to tip well’) but whatever.
I had a fabulous experience with Amy before when I had come in but after Sue I’m not likely to go back.
I actually ended up going to someone else to fix my highlights the way I initially wanted them. I could have probably asked her to fix some of it but since she was already annoyed and only became friendly when she reminded me to write a positive review, I just wanted to leave.
Now I’m not saying it looked terrible, it didn’t, it looked okay. The other hair place told me it was poorly done but it just wasn’t what I wanted and when I come in with pictures to be more specific I just hope it will look like that before.
I would say book your appointment with Amy for color and you will be fine, she’s sweet and very capable of getting great results.

I was skeptical at first. It’s always nerve wrecking having your hair lightened by someone you never been to. But I have to say, Sue did an amazing job. I love it. She had patience with my hair. It’s takes longer to lift and she left then toner on for a good amount of time. Unlike other stylists I’ve had my hair done by. They are usually in a hurry to wash you out and move on to the next client. Not Sue, and for that she will now be my official stylist. I don’t mind driving from Tracy to get my hair done by her. I will be back in 5 weeks for a cut.

Sue did an amazing job cutting and highlighting my hair! Will definitely be back and recommending her to all my friends!

I still love coming here! Sue did an awesome job with my hair and now I feel ready for my vacation! I uploaded my before and after picture. I don’t usually post pics but I was so happy when I saw how my hair turned out. I even gave Sue a hug!

Worst place Ever !!! Amy and sue ruined my hair they told me they new how to do an ombré and they did not ! I am never coming here again amy does not know what shes doing i dont know how she has her cosmetology license. And she still made me pay for it after i told her i did not like it and it wasn’t what i asked for. She kept questioning her work and would take breaks to go outside and smoke a cigar!!! Like are you kidding me?!? She should not be doing hair. And sue completly had no idea how to bleach my hair also she used a flat iron to make it go faster which is really bad for your hair! I had to go to my friend after so she can fix it and she knew what she was doing and left it beautiful. DONT GO HERE!!! And after amy messages me talking mess like really please grow up and go back to school

I’m at times super spontaneous and tonight I decided that I wanna cut my hair and get more blond highlights. Called Sue around 5.30 and asked if she had any openings, she said that because of a cancellation she could see me right away, great!
I arrived to the salon and everything seemed clean enough — I was greeted by Amy (?) and Sue, and sat down, showed Sue the pictures so she got an idea for what I was after. I’m really difficult with my hair and am always kind of scared to go to a new person, especially in US since English is not my 1^st language, there’s always greater chance of being misunderstood. Sue seemed to know what I wanted based on the pics which was great. I told her to cut it since I kind of wanted a long bob, and when she took the «shaver» out I got kinda freaked but no worries, it turned out great. The highlights also look amazing and I got a lot of compliments right away! Price with a groupon deal was 65 $.
I did take one star out since this is not a «high-​end» salon where you can go and totally relax. I’m very anxious person so for me it was pretty scary to see the results but thank god Sue did an amazing job! She also works fast which I can appreciate. I will go back here to keep on getting more highlights to eventually reach the perfect blonde shade I’m after. Thanks Sue, Merry Christmas!

My daughter and I were skeptical to get a Brazilian Blowout because we did not know much about it, but Amy Scotch eased our fears explaining the process and the importance of after care. Expect to be there for a few hours while getting it done, but totally worth it.
It is recommended to use the Brazilian Shampoo & Conditioner as it will prolong the effects. They do have them in stock for a great price! (I did compare it to Amazon)
It’s been 2 days and my daughter rinsed out her hair and conditioned it… she is extremely happy with the results, her hair is a lot less curly and manageable. She loves it!!!

My girlfriend and I was looking for a place to get our hair done, so we decided to try this place. I haven’t had a color in over a decade and a cut for a long time, but Sue did her thang and i love my cut and color! My girl also love her cut and color, Amy did her magic with her thick hair, lol. Glad we tried this place and will be coming back.

Loved this place, an awesome Groupon find! I haven’t had my hair cut or colored in at least 2 years because I’m always terrified of how it will turn out after very bad previous experience. Everyone at House of Style was so kind and quick, they even honor the Groupon price if there are any issues with it. Also, if they have to do anything more for your hair they let you know ahead of time and you can decide what you’d like done. I had previously box-​dyed my hair (don’t drink and dye) and in order to do an ombré they had to strip it for an extra $ 25. With the way my hair turned out I was happy to pay the extra! Oh my goodness. Sue claimed she has 40years experience but she destroyed my hair. Showed her a type of cut I wanted and she made it so short and so not like what I wanted! She ruined my hair! She just started shaving my hair-​.- until I stopped her. Will never go back to her.
Besides that she is also flippant and started raising her voice at me when i asked questions. I had to ask her to relax. Used a brazilian blowout groupon and she said she would charge $ 50 more for my shoulder length hair. Apparently the groupon mentioned consultation and that’s what that meant:/ extremely dissatisfied. Cant wait to let this stupid hair grow out now. Took more than 4hours for my shorter than shoulder length (post chopping) hair brazilian blowout and cut. Needless to say she needs more staff.
If you value your hair, time and money take your business elsewhere please.

I’m shocked. I brought groupon deal for a haircut– $ 20. While I was waiting for my turn, I watched a hairdresser giving a lady haircut and she did her hair horribly and I can clearly see she missed a strand. Then I checked the price list. $ 20 for women haircut!!! So the groupon deal is totally a hoax. I took the guts and walked out before they could even do my hair. I’m upset that this business is still on Groupon!!!

Found this place by pure accident through groupon and made an appt. Amy S. did my hair and I love it. I always get brave and do my own hair but after a few times of that, I break down and go somewhere professional to get it done.
Amy did a great job. She was patient, never made me feel rushed — she listened and did just want I wanted. And trust me, I’m not always exactly sure of what I want. Really pleased and I’ll go for sure.

Quite surprised after reading the reviews. I got a cut and partial highlights and Sue is very good. She is very experienced and did the job in 40 mins, the cut was well done. Color was slightly lighter than I expected, but I still liked it. I will go back to Sue.
It is odd to have her dogs around, but it was worth it
