Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Livermore

We were in Livermore to celebrate our anniversary. In spite of inconsistent reviews on Unilocal, decided to book here. We had a great time, and loved the hotel! Clean rooms, Hearty breakfast (eggs, meats, pancakes). This location is close to freeway access, but also very close to downtown Livermore. Staff is so friendly — everyone makes eye contact, smiles, says hello! Our room was very clean, beds and pillow soft and comfy. We had a room with the fridge/​microwave/​coffee pot. We were in 227 which had balcony facing east-​ish, so we could see the sunset. We never did make it down to the pool, so I can’t speak for that. If we were in Livermore again, would definitely return to this hotel.

We had the opportunity for an overnight in Livermore and found this gem. We were satisfied the moment we booked our stay via phone call.
The décor was modern and clean. The room was spacious and well equipped. The only thing we missed was a non-​slip tub mat but a hand towel is a great substitute.
The staff was efficient and friendly and the breakfast was surprisingly ample.
We would stay here again any time we’re in the area.

Clean, well-​lit Hotel just off the freeway. Very conveniently located! My suite was GINORMOUS with a full Kitchenette stocked with everything you might need for food prep… and a full sized fridge!
The décor was modern, the room was spacious, and the hotel was quiet. My only issue was that the Ice Machine on my floor was broken and the only other working one was located on the 1^st floor in the laundry room… kind of a hike for an ice obsessed girl like me… especially when you forget to get ice and are already comfy!

Please go to another hotel… I have medical issues and needed to be in pool and spa. I traveled 3000 miles. I called in advance to be sure that the pool and spa were in good working order. I arrived at 9 pm. pool not heated and dirty spa and freezing. I went to the desk clerk and inquired how to heat the spa. «first I hear of it’ was response. At $ 249.00 a night room was dated and not really clean. Hair in tub? yuck. I was not impressed.

Had the same experience as the person who commented about the A/​C in his room on 8÷18÷2015. Same exact words came out of desk clerk’s mouth. The remodel is okay but what is needed is a full renovation not new furniture. Had another unpleasant stay during the winter and the heating unit didn’t work. This used to be a great place to stay. Not sure what has happened but will not stay at this hotel, again.

Hotel rooms are spacious/​nice. Customer service was less satisfying. I arrived at the hotel and after about 2 hours in the room with the AC on full, the room had barely cooled. I mentioned this to the front desk attendant and he said it was because that side of the building gets direct sun but told me that if I left it on while I was away at the evening wedding it would be cool when I returned. When I came back it was cooler, but still not really cooled. I mentioned it in the morning and the other attendant told me «you can’t leave the AC on while you are out, because it probably burnt out. You were misinformed.» His tone was rude and condescending, and basically blamed me for his broken (or barely functioning) AC unit. He could have just apologized and looked into it– I wasn’t asking for it to be fixed anyway as I was checking out. Just wanted to notify the hotel for future guests.

Thank you for housing me and my car for approximately 6 months.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights for a wedding in Livermore in July.
I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. There is absolutely no excuse for stealing my friend’s personal belongings whom were also staying at this hotel the same nights.
I left my cell phone charger in room 305 and came back a few hours later to get it out of the room and the maids have already cleaned the room. I spoke with Matt at the front desk and he asked the maids right in front of me and they looked me in the eyes and said that they didn’t have it. I know for a fact I left it in the room. Matt personally went up to the room to check to see if they had missed it, but no luck. Matt said that he was going to call me when it was found. But I haven’t heard back. I spoke with Stephanie today regarding my missing cell phone charger and it was found, they will be shipping it to me. That’s a plus.
I have personally taken the time to draw and frame a special one of a kind gift for the bride. She was staying in room 228 and she accidentally left the drawing on the counter in the room that I gave her. She called back and spoke with Matt and Stephanie (manager) on several occasions to retrieve the drawing and they didn’t have any luck finding it. And no offering on additional help to find the drawing.
I just found out the news from my friend today that the maids (or someone else) have stolen the drawing on ⁷⁄₁₉. She has personally spoke with Matt and Stephanie on several occasions to track down the drawing with no luck. So, I called today and spoke with Stephanie. I am furious and upset that someone would do this. Stephanie is just now offering to review the cameras from that weekend. She will be reviewing that tapes from that day and hopefully find the culprit who did such thing.
Other than the stealing problem the rooms were alright. The bed was comfortable. The curtains didn’t block out all the sun. The wall plugs didn’t work in the room, only the lamp plugs. There was a hole in one of the decorative pillows. The shower water got cold quickly. Breakfast was ok.
I will never stay here again.

Went to a wedding nearby. This place was clean and recently updated. The beds were super super comfortable! I just melted into the sheets. Jack in the box is steps away. In n out and a Thai restaurant is across the street. Excellent customer service. Breakfast was on point. They had cereal, eggs, English muffin, donuts, turkey bacon, sausage, make your own waffles, coffee, tea, yogurt, bagels, juice, and taters. Only thing missing was rice lol. Dining area was really nice. Beautifully redone. I really enjoyed my stay here!!!

Pleasant customer service when we checked in. The décor of the room was nice.
F or the amount of money I paid, I would have thought the amenities (towels, sheets, and shower curtain) would have been much better quality.

Requested queen beds… they were in between full and a queen, but, certainly NOT queen beds. Remodeled? ah… adding granite and new furniture is not a remodel. Bathrooms have all old bath fixtures and floor is old tile. Clocks are old and coffee pot? Ancient. Bedding had black stains and someone spit in our garbage can and left it there before we even checked in! Gross… Pool was a miniature pool. Pool towels were thin and too small to around an adult. Hall was 80 degrees even though thermostat set at 74 degrees.

We stayed at Hawthorn Suites in April for a Bachelorette Party, and couldn’t have been happier with our stay. The assistance I received from the General Manager, Catherine, was unbelievable! Not only did she help me with booking our seven rooms (and rebooking when the number kept changing), but she gave me great recommendations for wine tasting and party ideas around Livermore. She gave us the best customer service I’ve had at a hotel, and I would go back to Hawthorn Suites just because of her!
Pros about Hawthorn Suites:
— The remodeled/​upgraded suites are beautiful. Very modern and luxurious
— The hot breakfast was tasty.
— Apples and coffee all day in the breakfast area
— Can’t beat the customer service
— Location was very convenient to downtown and to the wineries
Cons:
— The construction was still going on in the lobby at the time we stayed there, and it was a little hard to figure out how to get in the hotel!
— The workout room was very very basic. I would have loved to see an elliptical machine in there.

I travel often for work and tend to stay in mid-​level hotels since it’s on someone else’s dime. That being said, I’ve stayed in much better places than this hotel. This is actually the second time I’ve stayed here and it has gone downhill.
The hotel is undergoing remodeling at the moment so check back in a few months, maybe things will have improved. As it stands, expect hammering/​sawing/​etc. during the day until 6pm. Also, about half of the hotel parking lot is taken up by rubbish bins and material stockpiles. If you arrive after sundown you’ll probably have to park at adjacent businesses as I did my first night.
Faults: The shower curtain in my room is too short to reach the tub. To make matters worse, the bar is one of the newer curved bars that swings out. Thus the curtain hangs over the floor of the bathroom and I have had a nice pool of water to step in for the past two mornings.
The hotel WIFI (free) goes down about every 30 minutes. This wouldn’t be bad if I only wanted to browse the web but I need to connect to certain sites that require consistent connectivity. Impossible to do here. Also, when the WIFI is working it is not fast enough to sustain video streaming e.g. Netflix.
I enjoy hotel pools in the evenings as a way to relax. The pool here is 10 feet by 16 feet (my estimate) meaning you cannot actually swim in it. It is literally only a bit larger than most hot tubs.
Now for the good: Friendly staff. Everyone I have dealt with here has simply been friendly as hell. Great folks to chat with, ask for local info and whatnot.
Breakfast is a mix of hot and cold just like anywhere else and done very well. They have ceramic plates, glass glassware, metal cutlery — no cheap plastic here. The food is good. In the evening they do a happy hour with free snacks, beer and local wine.
The beds and pillows are quite comfortable and the room has a single wall-​mounted thermostat that allows you to set a fixed temperature and be done with it. I really appreciate those.

Stayed while in town for a friend’s wedding. It was comfortable and clean. Free breakfast is a plus, especially when you wake up for it! The only thing I would say is that the door does not lock upon closing, at least for my room. You have to make sure to pull the door really hard and hear the click. I’m sure many people have unknowingly left their rooms unlocked, not good!

My boyfriend and I had a nice stay here (2 nights). I got a deal with AAA. The hotel overall was cozy and cute, and our room was clean. The TV was nice and had a good selection of channels. The wifi worked well and was easy to access.
All of the staff we interacted with were friendly. We checked in the first night late (around 11pm), and the employee who checked us in seemed sleepy and was wearing a hoodie that might’ve had a stain on it, so he didn’t look all that professional, but he was friendly and helpful. There wasn’t anyone at the front desk for us to check out when we left.
The first night/​day there was some kind of white powdery spill on the stairs that didn’t get cleaned up for a day or two. One of the lamps in our room had a crooked shade and was a little broken. It seemed a little rough around the edges, but nothing that was amiss negatively affected our stay.
The bed was very comfortable, and the pillows were super soft. We definitely appreciated the microwave & fridge. We never got up early enough to try the breakfast, though it runs a little later than other hotels (until 9:30 on weekdays & until 10 or 11 on weekends). We would stay here again =)

Stayed here for my wedding weekend. Supposedly got a deal from the venue. Although it didn’t seem much like a deal.
I’ve been staying in a StayBridge Suites hotel for some time… and in comparison, Hawthorn is run down. Man, are they trying to pinch a penny… or two? The room seriously felt like it needed a face lift.
It’s in such a nice area too. Right next to down town and not far from Murrieta’s Well or Beer Baron.
If it weren’t for the service from the front desk and the lady in the kitchen, the rating would have taken a plunge. Usually I love to praise the maids too, but one of the ladies was kind of rude to us.
Also on the positive side–
TV’s were nice
There was a microwave
Free WiFi
And again, the front desk and kitchen were very helpful.

Stayed here because of a wedding in Livermore a few days ago. Google maps didn’t give me correct directions so we had to call and find out where to go, but it’s located in the same plaza as Jack in the Crack, and is across the street from In-​N-​Out.
Room 214 was a nice size and it overlooked the pool in the «backyard.» It had a little kitchen area with a refrigerator. The bathroom was a decent size as well-​plenty of space to get ready. The bed was comfy and there were no awful noises coming through the walls at night. Oh, and they serve a complimentary breakfast in the morning that consisted of waffles, bagels, fruit, eggs/​sausage, and different coffees.
Parking: plenty of parking spots!

Very nice. I would recommend this place and I would stay here again. The dark haired lady at the front desk when I checked in (Tuesday April 8^th) was excellent. She was quick, friendly, and helpful. She really seems to like her job and the hotel. The room was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was spacious and had an extra shelf along the back of the bathroom. The soap/​shampoo products where very high quality. It feels like more of a Hyatt/​Hilton/​Wyndam 3-​star experience, but at a much better value.
The breakfast was also more than I’d expected — eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, waffles, fruit, pastries.
Planning to stay there again.

I just blocked off rooms for my April wedding, and wanted to give kudos to Catherine Cheda for being so helpful. She made the whole process very easy, and helped me decide how many rooms I needed for family, the bridal party, and other guests. Plus, she offered us the banquet room for brunch, complementary with 25 rooms booked ($ 50 otherwise — very reasonable).
I’ll update after the wedding, but the experience so far has been wonderful!

$ 210 for a Saturday night stay.
Our king bedroom was clean and big! Comfortable bed and environment.
There’s a small kitchen with fridge, utensils, and stove. Bathroom was good size. Tv was big and there’s also couches and table.
The only thing I would complain is that the walls are not really sound proof so we heard kids early in the morning like outside or something.
We came back from a halloween party at a mansion nearby and we somehow can’t find our room key to get in the front door of the hotel and it was locked. Good thing a staff was still there to assist us thru the telecom. So i guess this hotel has good security and is safe.
