Golf Course Grill at Wente Vineyards

First time here. Waited for 1 hr and 39 min which did not like. Didn’t even have a server walk us to out table. Heard lots of good review but personally this is not what I was expecting. Also we had a baby in our party who was starting to get fussy.

The grill is worth coming to for the view, not the food.
My friends and I have stopped here before wine tasting and each time was unpleasant. If you must, get the appetizers– the fries and artichoke dip were good. The sandwiches & burgers lack in flavor and are very bland.
The worst part, aside from the food, has to be the amount of flies hovering all over the food. We had flies touching almost all of our meals and one swimming in my mimosa. Yum.
As I said earlier, the view is beautiful. If you like taking pictures, walk further down to the stacked barrels for a photo shoot, it’s beautiful!

1 star because the fries were good and 1 star because the waitress was polite. It was our first time here today and we will most likely never go back…
Our drinks were gross. We ordered a margarita and a blood Mary. Guess that’s our fault for ordering mixed drinks at a winery… But they were seriously God awful.
Both of our burgers were burnt and tasteless.
$ 60 for a lackluster meal. Never again.

Always the best break for a relaxing lunch with a view. Try the Moscow Mule or if you’re a red wine drinker this is the time to try white (Riva Ranch).

For a very nice golf course, food is not good even for a clubhouse. Wings are chewy and tough. Asian salad was bitter. Courteous staff but they didn’t know the property, wines or menu well at all. Had to ask other staff for answers. Great golf course but can’t recommend eating here. Probably just good enough for drinks.

Um… Not so much. It’s ok, but it’s hard to believe they have a great restaurant and a so-​so club restaurant.
The menu sounds great: Shishito peppers with lemon aoli, southwest hot dogs and cheeseburgers.
But what you get are mediocre dishes. The burger is always overcooked even when you ask for it rare. My husband ordered the tuna melt. It was not melted.
I recommend getting a glass of wine and enjoying the view. Go elsewhere for a satisfying meal.

Delicious brunch! The French toast and the street tacos were fantastic! Also enjoyed the open-​faced egg salad sandwich. Service was good, although our server was not very knowledgeable about the wines (she didn’t understand the question about whether the Chardonnay was oaked or not, for instance). It was super nice to sit outside with the view of the golf course. We would definitely go back!

I heard about the grill from a friend and decided to go by on a whim before visiting the nearby premium outlet shopping. Very happy I did! I was seated quickly at an outside table, where I got to enjoy the beautiful view of the golf course and surrounding hills –very peaceful! Staff were courteous and attentive. I ordered the smoked chicken quesadilla appetizer which was plenty filling on its own, and delicious. I also ordered a Cab Sav which was just what I needed before a long outlet shopping trek. I will definitely be back!

Smoking is allowed on the patio!!! I thought California had laws about this sort of thing, but apparently patio smoking is directed by the establishment. After one too many whiffs of secondhand smoke I complained to the waitress inside and was advised that Wente allows smoking on the patio if no one else is out there OR if no one complains?!? Since I complained they said something. I can’t imagine how many other diners say nothing because it is always uncomfortable bringing this sort of thing up.
We’ve been here a few times and the food is usually just fine (I have had their asian chicken salad, smoked chicken salad, fried green tomato blt, fried chicken sandwich, and a short rib (I think) sandwich. The wine list is lacking variety and most of their beers are Altamont Brewworks (which have always disappointed… our last visit was no exception).
Service usually varies and they don’t take reservations on the weekend. So why come here? We love going out for a family lunch on sunny afternoons and the view and patio ambiance at Wente Grill doesn’t disappoint.

The Club House Restaurant outside patio is set in a beautiful location
We had a very relaxing lunch dining outside at Wente Bros Club House Restaurant patio. The patio is situated at the Golf Course 18^th Green. It was great watching the various golfers doing their approach shots and putt attempts.

I really like the grill. I don’t golf, but I love eating outside and watching the birds while I eat. The breakfasts are outstanding, and the sandwiches are excellent. I’ve always had excellent service– everyone has been friendly and helpful. I have an allergy, so I always have to have them check what’s in my food– and they’ve always been super nice about that. I’ve eaten here more times than I can count, and it’s always been super. I’ve also been to events here– the beer tasting, for example– and those have been awesome too. Thanks Wente, for offering this choice location to diners!

1 hour to take our order 2 hours to get our burgers which were burnt. (Ordered med rare). Waitress was nice but service was horrible. 2^nd time we have been here and twice I have been disappointed. I will never come here again.

I am surprised at all the bad reviews as this is one of my favorite places to eat! I have been eating here for about 10 years and always enjoy the food and the view. This past summer had lunch here a few times. Our service was always wonderful and attentive. our drinks were refilled and food brought out quicker than expected. Our last time here Chris W. was our server … he was GREAT and never let our drinks go empty. we tipped him well! I have been told that my favorite pulled pork sandwich that was taken off the menu has been added back as they have a seasonal menu. If you want a great view and a nice breakfast or lunch NOT at a chain restaurant without a view… COME HERE!

I used to come here all the time for lunch and loved it! The pulled pork sandwich was amazing. I went here for the first time in about 3 years today and was very disappointed. First off the service was TERRIBLE. I think our waiter stopped at our table twice, we had to call someone else over multiple times to refill our drinks or bring us some ketchup. There was also a group of men smoking cigarettes at the table next to us and none of the staff asked them to stop until another table got up and left. They have changed the menu and no longer have my favorite pulled pork sandwich. I ended up with a $ 20 cheeseburger which really wasn’t spectacular. I had to pay an extra $ 1 for my tbsp of BBQ sauce which they forgot to put on my burger. It was just all around not very good.

Grade = F. One star is for the view of the 18^th hole and the fact that 0 stars is not an option.
We waited 30 minutes to sit outside. Out choice to wait — but the host did not make it clear that there was a special event going on that would limit seating options.
Next the food. It is tough to screw up a fried chicken sandwich but everything about it was bad. Bread comes with (a lot of) flour on the top of both pieces (what is the purpose of that, anyway?). Second the chicken was over cooked and dry. Also we had wings to start — those looked awesome but were not! They were also way over-​cooked and dry. There was a lot of really good looking sauce on them — but it was not spicy, not BBQ, just an odd flavor… not bad — just not «wing» sauce.
Finally the service — it was god awful slow and we were on a time budget — which made it seem even slower.
Long story short — eat before you go for a wine tasting.

The service was «ok». The food «quality» was good. The «atmosphere» was above average. However, I ordered the breakfast burrito and it was waaay too small. A child would not be satisfied with the food portion.

I’ve now been here for the breakfast, and it was absolutely wonderful since my family and I had a great view of the golf course and the beautiful hills while we ate. We all got mimosas and I got an orange juice (not 21 just yet), and we got the breakfast with eggs, bacon, potatoes and fruit. It was fantastic!
Our waitress was super nice and attentive, too! I’d love to come here more often when I get the chance. :)

The Grille is a typical country club clubhouse restaurant, complete with salads and sandwiches perfect for after an afternoon of golfing. The service was good, and my favorite foods were the brussel sprouts appetizer and the Asian salad.

Went here for a quick lunch before a day of wine tasting in Livermore.
Split the tuna sandwich, wedge salad and shrimp cocktail All very delicious.
I really liked the tuna sandwich — they put capers in it which I’ve never had before (together that is)
