Claudine’s

I found Claudine (in desperation) after seeing that one of my Facebook friends is friends with her. I have extremely thick hair and have been auditioning hair stylists for YEARS. They all seem to think that the only way to manage my hair is to chop it to shreds and use those horrid thinning shears close to my head which always results in my looking like an angry porcupine. If I demand no thinning then they use the buzzy thing (for that I could go to a barber for less $$!)
BACKGROUND…Prior to finding Claudine the last shall-​remain-​unnamed ‘pro’ @ Uptown Girls started my trim in the back. When she sucked in her breath and muttered «oops» I knew I was in trouble. Her solution was to give me an almost complete buzz-​cut (with scissors, ferchrisesake!) and left the top about five inches long. She wanted to know if I wanted her to spike it with gel. I’m 66 years old. She made me look like to total clown. I went home (my husband was kind and did not laugh) jumped in the shower and then tried to blend cut the top so the difference from ½ inch see-​the-​scalp to the top-​mop was modified. I wore hats, hoodies, whatever for weeks when I had to appear in public.
As my hair began to grow out I desperately needed some professional help. I saw my friend’s FB post and decided to give Claudine a try.

Claudine totally understands thick hair with multi-​cowlicks. She evened out my locks and didn’t even suggest thinning. I decided to grow my hair long and Claudine gave it a shaping every few weeks. Finally with the weather beginning to warm up the long & thick is too much. I told Claudine I was ready for short again.
I now have the most amazing and flattering pixie cut I have ever had in my life! Yes, Claudine artfully thinned my hair for lift, but even when it is wet and I shake dry there are no stray stick-​ups. No more mad porcupine. This is the first time ever that I have not had to ‘fix’ a cut myself. I couldn’t be happier.

The first time I came to see Claudine, I told her that it had been over a year since I last had my hair done in a salon and that I’ve been coloring my hair myself. Now, previously when I’ve told other hairstylists the same thing, they look at me like, «What planet have you been living on all this time?» But instead, Claudine spent half an hour giving me a consultation and tips on how I can improve on my hair coloring skills. Seriously, that was so awesome! It was like I had just attended a hair coloring seminar. I was previously using the box color kits found at Target/​Walmart etc., but she told me how to choose hair colors and developers separately and how I would save money in the long run vs. buying the box kits, and how it would be better for my hair. But enough said about that… Claudine gave me an awesome cut and color and she’s been my to go person for getting my hair done. She is super easy to talk to and so comfortable to be around that I am always surprised how fast time goes by when I’m there. When I leave the salon, I spend a lot of time looking in the mirror checking myself out lol and I’m sure you’ll be doing the same thing after your appointment with Claudine.

I went here hesitant to cut my hair after an incident at another salon in town when I asked for something specific that turned out completely different that just didn’t look good. After growing my hair out and deciding to try again, I looked up Claudine’s, and after seeing all the good reviews, I decided to go for it. She has an adorable little studio attached to her house that is clean and appealing, and Claudine is one of the nicest and most genuine people I’ve ever met. She makes you feel completely comfortable and communicates with you through the whole process which is really key to getting a good haircut. She is knowledgeable and talented, and will always let you know her professional opinion on a hair decision. We even googled pictures to talk about exactly what I was going for and what would look good on me. The haircut (a pixie, which is so easily done horribly) turned out better than I could have ever hoped for. The price was incredibly reasonable too. I’ve never had such a fantastic experience at a hair salon before and I doubt I’ll ever get my hair cut anywhere else again.

I wish I had a before and after picture of my hair. Claudine worked her magic on my neglected mop and made me feel amazing. I literally could not stop looking at it, running my hands trough it, swinging it. I was like a three year old that just tried on her first hot pink feather boa. I felt FABULOUS.
Super affordable too. To be honest, she could charge more and I still gladly would have paid — she’s that good. I’ve had less lovely experiences and paid WAY more. So overall I felt like I was getting a bargain. I can’t tell you how happy I am to have found her. She is now my go to person for my hair. Can’t wait to go back for color.

Have been to Claudene’s twice. I’m amazed that even when I don’t blow dry my hair her layered cut gives my hair a soft wave that looks good without styling! My hair is really fine too. Also when she washes your hair she gives you a melt-​in-​ur-​chair scalp massage! Love how she renovating her old house too.

I have naturally VERY curly hair and have had many horrible haircuts at the hands of stylists that have no idea what to do with my crazy hair but Claudine has given me the perfect cut each and every time. She has a great personality and doesn’t push products on you like alot of other stylists. It’s a comfortable, relaxed environment and I’d recommend her to anyone that’s in need of a great cut, style, color or consult.

Livermore peeps if you want highend salon service with an affordable price step to Claudine’s. I’ve been going here for years, sure, but if it ain’t broke don’t fix it right? I can keep her to myself but she has the midas touch when it comes to hair and personality that needs to be spread.
Enough of the buttering up, right.
I was in last wednesday planning on trimming the layers but changed the mind. I don’t know how much was cut off but let’s say it looked like a few mini dogs on the floor. Claudine working her mojo and using her razor as a magic wand on my locks.
I just can’t get over how she does it, she is shown a photo and wa la, it’s magic.
My dang man won’t leave me alone. Thanks Claudine for turning me into a foxey brown. I’ll be back for your golden touch, and golden talks.

Claudine has been doing my hair for 12 years now. I think that says enough! But I want to say more. Whether I go in with some pictures or no idea what I want at all, I always leave feeling and looking fantastic! Claudine is so talented. In my 12 years of being her client, I have done everything from short styles to long styles, blonde to hot pink (sometimes multiple colors at once), and even dreadlocks! There’s just nothing she can’t do. The salon has such a nice environment, so friendly and inviting and she is always willing to accommodate to make you feel comfortable.
To top it all off, she’s a fantastic person and great to talk with! Which is important, because let’s face it, we all love gabbin’ with our hairstylists! I just couldn’t imagine going to anyone else.

OMG… If you want he best cut, color etc. You must visit this awesome lady. I have been going to Claudine for over 10 years, and not once was I unhappy with my cut or color. Like others, I found Claudine on Unilocal and I am so glad I did! Initially, I was very nervous to get a drastic haircut without any recommendations but she made me feel comfortable and at ease right away. She’s talkative and very friendly. Also, she was able to squeeze me in last minute (she’s by appointment only). I have tried countless salons in the Tri-​Valley area so I am happy to have found a stylist I can stick with! Finally!

Claudine is awesome. Don’t be fooled by the fact that the salon is attached to her house, this place is nicer than most fancy salons I’ve been to. I have to thank my fellow Unilocalers for leading me to Claudine’s. I went to her blindly on Unilocal reviews alone and I am so glad I did. It was a pleasure to meet such a warm, friendly experienced stylist. You can just tell by the way she discusses your hair and explains things that this woman is the real thing. She knows her stuff. I went in for Japanese hair straightening (which by the way is not a cheap procedure) and after paying for one last year that did not take I was taking a bold chance that Claudine new what she was doing. Thank goodness this woman knows her stuff. It worked perfectly. I now have perfectly straight hair yet it appears natural and healthy.

Best haircuts I have ever had — hands down. Claudine is not allowed to ever move or die.

Claudine is a genius with hair! (that pretty much says it all). I perform in community theater, and I’ve often come to Claudine with crazy requests and she finds ways to make it work — can my hair be short and choppy one day, smooth and elegant the next? yes, it can be done, if you go to Claudine!
Then there’s the color … ‘color goddess’ indeed!
But best of all, getting my hair done is a treat because Claudine makes it such a fun and relaxing experience. And through the years of going to Claudine’s, we’ve become friends as well.
I have recommended Claudine to everyone who compliments me on my hair (which happens a lot!), and I highly recommend her to you!

You know, I’m the kind of person that re-​thinks everything and my hair is no different. I went in on a hot summer day asking her to chop off a lot, but still let it be long enough for some styling if I wanted that. And she did it, just as I’d asked her to. However, I was very nervous after I’d had it done, not being used to such short hair. I think I left her feeling a bit badly because I seemed so nervous, when all she’d done was do what I asked.
I was so wrong to doubt. Everyone comments on how wonderful my new short haircut is, and how it flatters my face. It really falls so nicely and is low maintenance, something I told her was important to me on my very first visit. The woman is genius with hair and she’s found a steady customer.

I have been going to Claudine’s for many years and don’t want anyone cutting my hair but her. It is always a pleasant experience when I go there because she is such a fun person to be around and she gives the BEST hair cuts!

She is my best friend, my hairstylist, my therapist and ex-​boss.
She knows her stuff and she’s as friendly as ever.
