Open working space rental is $ 1.50 per square foot for a 12 month lease, and $ 1.85 per square foot for month-to-month. Semi-private ranges from $ 1.85 to $ 2.15. Currently, spaces are still more flexible than they will be in the future, so we can likely create a space to suit most budgets. Please pass the word on to any who might be interested, either in studio space or in attending events — or volunteer to help make it happen! Linda Ryan and Carol Edwards will be co-managing the space. You can contact us at info@bothwellartscenter.org with queries or to set up an appointment.
History
Established in 2010.
In October of 2010, we began renovating what had been a derelict, abandoned liquor store and opened our Downtown Art Studios a little over 6 weeks later, with the help of many volunteers. The studios are within walking distance of favorite downtown boutiques, coffee houses and restaurants.
Two-thirds of the space is dedicated to inexpensive open but dedicated working spaces, where artists can work and leave their supplies out, in an environment where they can mingle with other artists and keep that art vibe happening. The other half is set up for semi-private working space.
