Never ceases to amaze us… Hot dog(again) was as good as the 1st3 times. Pot stickers and chow fun excellent. Mango sticky rice was out of this world. Service was the usual out standing… Can’t say enough. Happy hour all day Saturday and Sunday. Forgot to hit post the last time. \Have actually been to Tatami twice sine last post. Went there on my 79th birthday(Yes I know that I am old) Prime rib was great. had great dinner for 6. Next post today’s visit, Tatami hot dog, satay slider and IPA as great as it gets. Congrats to Ernie as Manager. Will miss him as Tar Bender(pun intended)

Came here for dinner last weekend with my family. My sister and her husband come often. Lollipop chicken was amazing. I’ve never seen chicken served this way. My favorite thing there! Korean tacos had nice flavor, we got the pork. Served with a side of Kim Chi. Tonkatsu hot dogs were also presented well and had a nice twist to your everyday dog. If your a fan of lilikoi(passion fruit) you can’t go wrong with their cheesecake. One reason it did not get 5 stars was the cocktails. Everything is measured and the taste of the drinks lacked flavor and booze :( I ordered a Long Island and it tasted like water. Most people know if you even have one Long Island your feeling pretty darn good. Not the case here. I also wasn’t a fan of our server. He was very bland, lacked personality. He also gave us the bill before asking us if we wanted any dessert/coffee. I noticed a family of 5 came in after we were sitting at the big table and it almost felt like we were being pushed out. Not cool. I’m willing to come back and try this place again since the east bay lacks places with good

This was a tasty impromptu lunch. But, here’s the thing: We decided last minute to go with 15 coworkers and the place was absolutely EMPTY! Side note: We only had an hour for lunch, so we were in a hurry. To be fair, we did not disclose our urgency. The problem was it took an HOUR to receive our food in an empty restaurant. Not good! From the looks of it, there seemed to be only 1 server and 1 chef for the entire restaurant.(So it seemed). We ordered 13 burgers and 2 salads. Although the food was pretty darn good, burgers, salad and fries, we did send back 2 burgers due to being undercooked. They asked for medium-well and they both got rare. But our waiter was on it, he took initiative and he was efficient. I even saw him sweat a little running around making sure all our orders were the way we requested. Kudos to Ernie! This place is attached to a casino called 580, so the parking lot is ALWAYS packed. I usually come here for happy hour after work, and I really enjoy their apps. Today for the first time I order a meal, which was also pretty darn good. Try the BBQ burger, with large onion rings, bacon and their yummy homemade sauce. However, I think they need more help in the kitchen to speed up the the process. it took way too long! I’ll be back for happy hour!

Despite the fact that Bar Tatami has 58 reviews at the time of this review, I’m surprised by how many people in Livermore have never heard of this place. It’s one of Livermore’s best kept secrets. Also, if you’re just visiting Livermore and staying at one of the hotels off of Airway Blvd, Bar Tatami is the closet quality restaurant. Bar Tatami is located in the 508 Casino. Even if you’re not a member of the gambling crowd, as I am not, it’s worth a trip to the casino to eat here. The brightest point of Bar Tatami’s menu is the appetizer section, and I rarely even order a main. 2 – 3 appetizers and you are golden. The deep fried crab rangoon is a treat. Unlike most poser rangoon, Bar Tatami’s are made from real crab, and not hot, imitation goop. The must-have is the lollipop chicken wings. They should start a thing where they take a photo of everyone’s face the first time they bite into those things because seriously, it’s like biting into a deep fried angel wing dipped in Jesus sauce. If you’re into salad, you can’t go wrong with the buffalo chicken salad. The big chunks of extra skunky blue cheese crumbles and the tasty wing sauce make it a well above-average salad. If you want to try something different, I recommend the beef laab. The minced ribeye and lettuce leaves are apparently a traditional dish. I wasn’t sure of the proper way to eat them, so I made lettuce fajitas. Very tasty. They have 5 – 6 beers on draft, and a full bar that includes some decent rare wines and whiskey selections. It’s a casino… they have decent alcohol. If you’re looking for a great place to eat in Livermore, and maybe not into dealing with 1st Street for a night, give Bar Tatami a try!

My friend and I came here on New Years night since we were hungry. It was already 9:30pm and most places are closing or closed. Since we weren’t too familiar with the area, we quickly Unilocaled a place to eat and ended up coming here. Upon arrival, we stood awkwardly by the bar since we weren’t sure how the restaurant worked because we didn’t expect this to be a bar inside a casino. We were handed menus and seated wherever we wanted. Since it was cold out, I was something warm and soup-y. It’s kind of funny because we ended up getting phở and wonton soup at a bar in a casino. But we also got their infamous lollipop chicken wings though! The phở and wonton soup were just average, as expected. We honestly just wanted something warm but I kind of felt like I should have ordered something else(oh well haha). But the lollipop chicken wings were really good though! They were very flavorful and are perfectly spiced. The wings had a great kick to it. I highly recommend that dish! Overall, the food was decent and price was reasonable for bar food. I am not too sure if I’ll be back since I am never really in that area and I would look for other late night eats instead.

This place was really good! I never even knew it was here and our waiter says they’ve been open 5 years.(I’m from Pleasanton but work nearby and go to Costco all the time!) We had the really, really tasty hot dogs(which are more like sausages in great buns and the cabbage is more like a vinagrette cole slaw). Yumm! I had very good Phở and my friend had a large turkey sandwich. The place is classy(I don’t know what I expected being in a neighborhood freeway casino) and the service was wonderully attentive on a Sunday afternoon. We were even offered Happy Hour cocktail prices and appetizers and it was only 1pm :-) Now both of us want to bring our husbands to try it and I told my work people about it.

Bar tatami is my favorite go to place for good eats and reasonably priced drinks. Their lolipop wings are AWESOME especially with a nice cold beer. They have happy hour through the week and sometimes if they are feeling nice they’ll charge you happy hour prices. Dont expect this as it is rare for it to happen. They have a good selection of hard alcohol with the most expensive drinking being $ 200+ a shot. Bar tatami is basically connected to Casino 580. So its denfinitely fun to play a few hands at the table and get some food or drinks and go back. As mentioned i only get the lolipop wings with the garlic fries. I tried tonkatsu hot dog but didnt enjoy it much. But the burgers are supposedly good They get 4⁄5 because they had no wings when i came in today

Fantastic food! And open late, which as a server at another restaurant is a fabulous perk. Phenomenal Phở! Bobby is a great bartender too.

Service: 2⁄5 The first waitress that approached us walked up to us so slowly and talked Sooooo slowly I answered and ordered everything in my head already before she finished her sentence. It wasn’t even hot inside for her to be so slow paced… PICKITUPWOMAN !! you’re working in a casino ! Be energetic ! Food: Lollipop Chicken Wings: 3⁄5 Typical Asian sweet and sour taste. It was kind of oily since it is deep fried but the meat was soft and moist. Tonkatsu Hot dogs: 5⁄5(came with two) It was battered !!! I did not know hot dogs could be battered !! Love it !! It was a bit salty but delicious ! Lemon Grass Chicken Satay: 4⁄5 Pretty TASTEY ! I love that it were skewered with lemon grass and the chicken was so flavorful ! Enjoyed it a Lot ! Korean Street Tacos: 2⁄5 Mehhhh I had better. There was more veggies than meat in it. Rather disappointing. The tortillas tasted kinda old. Drinks: Bloody Mary(regular size): 2⁄5 Had better. Wasn’t spicy or tangy enough.

Great food and service. The place is small and easy to oversee since the thing you see from the outside is the big Casino signs, but this gem is next to the casino! I did not even reach the entrees since the appetizers were so good I was stuck there. Not to mention the drinks and cocktails. Wish I was there for happy hour though.

First time here and the food was frigging fantastic! Ernie was very friendly, informative and a complete delight to have as our bar tender on our escape from the heat. We highly recommend trying the Tonkatsu Hot dogs and the lemon grass chicken satay. The Korean tacos were also delicious. The food was so good we had to try the desserts! The Coppa mousse will have you tilting your back moaning and grinding the bar stool or who ever is lucky enough to be next to you at that moment.

After a several hours of wine tasting, Boyfriend and I came to Casino 580/Bar Tatami to gamble and eat. I’m not as much of a gambler as he is, so he decided to invest in that $ 50 free plays deal for blackjack. It is a small game room, not like a full casino, but he really only likes blackjack so that worked for him. On a Saturday afternoon, it wasn’t that crowded(casino and bar). We were able to get seated easily. The bar is pretty small, but it has a nice feel to it. There are seats around the windows as well as a bar in the middle. During the day, the bar has a warm sunny vibe, but I can also see it being more intimate and trendy at night when it’s dark. Service was very friendly and attentive. We didn’t have to wait long for our drinks as well as our food a bit later. I ordered the margarita and Boyfriend had a glass of pinot noir. I really enjoyed my drink — it was well made and delicious. As for food, I had the salmon dish and Boyfriend got the special, prime rib. They were both so good(and the plating was classy)! My salmon was soft and had a great sauce. They also came with potatoes and vegetables that were also perfectly cooked — not too crunchy, but also not soggy. Boyfriend’s prime rib was also a dream. It had a decent amount of fat on it to give it a good flavor and was also really juicy. The food here is impeccable and well priced! My salmon was only $ 15 and Boyfriends prime rib was only $ 22. They also serve phở and stir-fry dishes. If only it were a larger place and not so far away, I would definitely come back and recommend to friends. Ambiance: 4⁄5 Food & Drink: 4⁄5 Food: 4.5÷5 Overall Experience: 4⁄5

My friend and I went shopping at the outlets and I wanted to try this place based on the reviews. We walked in and there was one couple at the bar and 3 couples total in the whole place, and they all had been served and eaten. So I’m thinking we won’t have to wait long. We weren’t greeted so I asked the lady at the bar«do we seat ourselves?» She said grab any table. So the table we picked she said she had to wipe it off and in so doing she brought us menus. That was the last time we talked to her. We waited 15 minutes watching the waitress serve drinks to people who came in after us at the bar and who have already been served and ordered another drink. I can’t review on the food because WENEVERGOTANY! We were really hungry so we left and went across the freeway to the taqueria and it was great. If we didn’t leave I would not have found the taqueria so thank you bar Tatami!

Solid spot for drinks and apps in Livermore. The highlights were: 1. Modern and open ambiance 2. Friendly service 3. Lollipop chicken wings! So crispy, juicy, fatty, tender and flavorful. A definite must-have 4. All of the drinks(massive bloody mary’s, delicious cocktails and a plethora of beers) 5. Vietnamese coffee Aside from the lollipop wings, everything else was good but not necessarily mind-blowing. The Tonkatsu hot dogs, the chow mein, the house special prime rib, the phở and the garlic fries were all above average but nothing specific to write home about. I definitely recommend stopping by here when you’re in Livermore and looking for a good spot to catch up with friends or family over apps and drinks though. Happy Eating, Unilocalers!

Came here for Valentine’s dinner. Not my first time here but was shocked the place was empty it was great! We order pot stickers, buffalo chicken salad, phở and bar tatami burger. The food was delicious! The only thing is the service was horrible the waitress only came to the table one time to see if we were done eating… like I said it was empty in the restaurant! So that was a bummer! We love the food so we will be back!

It was kind of impressive that this little restaurant is located inside a casino. It’s a tiny casino, but an average sized restaurant. The menu selection was interesting, it had a variety of Asian-fusion dishes and new American cuisine. Since the price wasn’t bad at all, my coworkers and I decided to try a slew of things on the menu, including the crab rangoons(very good), chicken satay(good), and the tonkatsu hot dogs(my coworker loved them). As my main dish I had the kung pao chicken, which was very tasty. Not a huge portion, but enough to be satisfying. It also looked like they had drink specials. The server was really nice and we talked to the chef for a bit. This place was definitely worth a try, and since I work so close, I’m sure I will be back.

After church we Unilocaled this hidden gem. We came based on reviews and pictures. It’s affiliated with the casino but there’s a separate entrance. The décor is modern, with a zen feel. Mostly bar or bar stool table seating. We came during happy hour(til 4 pm on Sunday). Menu is very unique, truly Asian fusion. Ordered everything on the happy hour food menu. Spring rolls(5 – 6) — Perfectly fried, light, crispy. Great sweet chili sauce with a hint of lime. Yum! Korean beef tacos(2) Just like food trucks. Good. Tonkatsu mini hot dogs(2) — *My favorite* Not your usual wiener. Lightly panko breaded, topped with Japanese teri mayo, slaw, in a lightly toasted moist, chewy bun. Totally reminded me of Japadog in Vancouver. Delish! So good. We had to order another 2 dogs that Hubs scarfed down, with no problem. Lemon grass chicken with jasmine rice(2) — My second favorite. Moist dark meat chicken, marinated with and in lemon grass(skewers). Very tasty! Beer on tap $ 3(Drake, hef) during happy hour. Hubs said it was ok. Daughter’s lemonade was powdered MM. Still good & refreshing. Kim, server, was nice, very helpful, quick to resolve/suggest, like quickly replacing dropped forks and replenishing napkins. I like service, esp when dining with a child, where I don’t have to ask for every thing. Restrooms gets my Mama approval. It looks almost sterile inside. Dry floors, almost spotless toilets. Plus, the jasmine scent inside is very inviting. I just love clean, aromatic restrooms! « Best part: $ 37, including tip. Will definitely be back soon, without the kid. Next Mommies Night Out for sure or just a quick bit after meetings..

Service was great! Made sure we had everything we needed. Gave me a tasting of the Great White beer on tap(and liked that I got a pint). I wanted the Watermelon Wheat but they didn’t change the menu yet so it wasn’t available. The place was pretty empty for Saturday afternoon. But they have a Happy Hour at this time. $ 3 pints and a bunch of $ 5 – 6 foods. Parking sucks here. There are about 8 parking slots. So you end up parking on the street or side of a road. Food. The Tatami cheeseburger looked great. Nice soft Ciabatta-like bun, crispy bacon with a side of fries. Dude liked it and said it went well with his $ 3 beer. As for me… Well, I was VERY disappointed. I ordered the Short Ribs. $ 12. WOW When the really nice waitress/bartender brought me my plate(after she said it was taking a bit longer than the burger she first brought) I looked at it and was thinking WTH is this? Where’s the Beef? It was ONE rib. Probably not even a true Short Rib meat. Couldn’t tell, it could have been a roast. It was tender as all can be. Not worth the $ 12 listed. Unless this is the jacked up price for everything on their menu. So come for the $ 3 beer during Happy Hour and a Burger. DONOTORDERTHESHORTRIB. Not Plural RIBs. Oh and there is another menu. Not just the one one the table listed behind the drink menu. Heard the waitress/bartender tell one of the customers that arrived after us. No clue what they have on there except for Phở, Fried Rice and Chow Fun. Should have read Unilocal before coming here so my expectations were set lower.
