She is attuned to CASIGYs’ unique needs & uses creative, sensitive, intelligent methods that help them find healing, joy & fulfillment. She helps adults, teens and kids who are challenged by ADD or AD/​HD, Super-​Sensitivity, Anxiety, Depression, School or Work Stress, 2E or Multiple Exceptionalities, Parenting concerns, Relationship concerns, Illness, Tragedy, Loss and Life Transitions. She provides individual, couple & small group counseling. She also offers Creative Healing PlayShops, Retreats and Presentations. Her most requested topic is Different by Design: Finding the Magic in Being a MisFit!

History

Established in 1994.

Sharon Barnes’ mission is helping CASIGYs (Creative, Aware, Sensitive, Intense and/​or Gifted You-​s) release their creativity to become fully alive, and fulfill their purpose. She helps CASIGYs heal their past and transform their pain, thus opening the way to the thriving that they seek. Sharon opened her doors as a psychotherapist, speaker and facilitator in 1994. She initially specialized in helping people facing adversity: illness, tragedy and loss. In the late 90’s she became ill and her business went almost dormant for a few years. During that time, she discovered the great power of Tools for Creative Healing which she now calls Creative and Contemplative Handwork. As she regained her health, she also identified her current specialty of working with CASIGYs (Creative, Acutely Aware, Super-​Sensitive, Intense, Gifted You’s).

Sharon M. Barnes, MSSW, LCSW is a Creative Transformation Specialist, providing counseling & consulting. She helps CASIGYs (Creative, Acutely Aware, Supersensitive, Intense and/​or Gifted You-​s) thrive, heal, become fully alive and fulfill their purpose. She has a Masters of Science in Social Work degree from San Diego State University and is licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in Colorado. She is a Requested Return Speaker, speaking locally and nationally. She is the author of «Tips for Helping Gifted, Highly Sensitive Teens & Kids Cope with Trauma,’ published at www​.SEN​Gifted​.org. She is also the author of «How to Encourage Gifted Children,» published in Australia’s «Gifted Journal». Sharon is a past board member of the Colorado Society for Clinical Social Work, Denver Chapter. She is continuing her learning in a training process to become certified as a Jungian Sandplay Therapist. Sharon has been married over 40 years and has adult sons, daughters-​in-​law and grandchildren.
