Loved having some intelligentsia so close to home. Great coffee shop with a big comfy space. Thanks for the double pour over! I will be back.

ittleton, New Hampshire is quite the bustling town nestled in the white mountains in a part of New Hampshire that’s very sparsely populated. Based on my own travels, it’s the largest city in Northern New Hampshire with a population of 6,000 residents. Recently, the town has seen a huge revitalization of local businesses with the town promoting shopping local with development efforts centered around bring main street back. It’s very impressive and I keep hearing about Littleton as a place to visit for the day. M-ZO Tea & Co. is one of those new businesses that’s locally owned and opened in Christmas of 2014. They serve Intelligentsia Coffee which is one of the larger 3rd wave coffee roasters and an assortment of teas. They offer Cold Brew, Espresso, Chemex, V60 Pour-Over and Drip Coffee. Cold Brew was out the day I visited but I tried everything else and was certainly impressed. Café Layout: Very comfortable! There is an assortment of high-top seating and couches. A decent amount of plugs were available and you’re allowed 1 hour of complimentary WiFi which is good enough to get some work done without people living out of the café. There were less than 20 seats total so I’m sure teleworkers could easily invade this place and make seating constricted. Coffee Quality: The Espresso was well done. Creamy, great chocolate quality. They appear to exclusively use Black Cat Espresso Blend. 8⁄10 Chemex was a medium roast, and was well done but they did not use a scale which is fine… I don’t use one every time I brew a cup. Good flavor with low acidity. I’d score it 7⁄10 The V60 was similar to Chemex and not a big score differentiator. The pastries appear to be made on-site and the muffin I shared with Heather was fluffy, sweet and pretty darn good! Overall: I’d go back here again and hopefully the street parking will be a bit easier. That’s probably the only complaint is that Littleton should add more parking spaces to make room for the bustling main street commerce that has emerged.

The one time I stopped in to M*ZO it was a bit early and there were hardly any customers, so I was able to take in a lot of what they had to offer while my drink was being made. It is probably one of the tidiest and well-decorated coffee shops I’ve ever been in. They also have one of the coolest looking espresso machines I’ve ever seen. It’s a very inviting space(the smell of teas and coffee!) with some pleasant seating near the window to people watch from. They offer a very wide selection of teas, coffees and blends. You can even blend your own type of tea here. The staff is friendly and seem to really care about how they do beverages here. It may take a bit longer, but I was thoroughly impressed with how beautiful my cup of Tiramisu Chai Latte came out! If you’re in the need for a relaxing warm(or cold) beverage, or if you just bought a new book next door that you have to sit down and read RIGHTNOW, stop in at M*ZO!

Loose leaf tea, tea accoutrements, macarons, healthy smoothies, and drinks that are not overly sweetened — my dream place. Their coffees/lattes/espressos are always made the right temperature, nothing too hot and they offer a variety of options for sweetening your drinks, none of it being white, refined sugar. It’s a large space, so it seems like there should be lots of space to sit, but there isn’t. You can sit outside in the lobby area, though. They have open-faced sandwiches and salads and things looked super yummy. The customer service is hit or miss, and sometimes it seems like the staff is not arranged efficiently, but oh well. Also, it’s not THAT bad, but it seems a tad expensive. In fact, everything in Littleton seems quite expensive when it comes to the food. I understand products have farther to travel, but with all the touting about using local this and that, you think it MIGHT be reflected in prices a bit. Eh, what do I know? Also, it’s one of the minority of coffee/small food shops that accepts credit cards.

Excellent coffee, atmosphere and service. What else could you ask for? They also take cards, which is oddly rare in Littleton. The lemon raspberry muffins are especially recommended!

My friend and I were walking around Main Street and stumbled upon this spot. I knew it must’ve been brand new since it definitely wasn’t here a few months ago– the last time I was up here. As soon as I saw the sign for Intelligentsia Coffee… I was amazed! I’ve never seen it ANYWHERE around here, so it was impressive. They offer pour-over, drip, individual brew, or cold brew. They put so much care into each cup! They also have adorable treats and tasty food options. I feel like I have to grab a homemade cakepop before I leave. The atmosphere is so simple and open– and very comfortable. This is such a hidden gem in the area. It seems like a random spot for such a coffee shop, but I am not complaining :)
