Specialties
We set up our Spay-Neuter Clinic to serve our shelter animals and to provide affordable spay neuter services for the public.
Surgical appointments are presently being scheduled for Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. All surgery patients undergo full anesthesia which includes pain management during their procedure. In addition, patients will be sent home with three days worth of pain medication for their post operative care.
Our behavior and training program focuses on helping people and their dogs understand each other better. Our program utilizes your dog’s natural and instinctual drives to encourage the behaviors you like. Every dog is different and our program offers a flexible curriculum to suit every families individual needs. We believe every dog deserves training and enrichment.

WHO WE ARE:
The Humane Society of the South Platte Valley (HSSPV) is a non profit 501©(3) organization established to serve the communities of south Denver. Our Humane Society offers shelter, care and compassion for lost, stray and unwanted animals until they are redeemed by their families or adopted into a new home.
WHAT WE DO:

Our philosophy is that a humane society should serve the community by taking in lost, stray and abandoned animals and providing those animals with the best care during their stay at our shelter. We provide enrichment programs for the animals in our care, including a social play group environment for both dogs and cats. These enrichment programs are based on the latest research in animal behavior and neuroscience in animals. A great team of volunteers makes sure our dogs get walked at least t
