Duffey’s Heating & Air Conditioning

Same day service, excellent service! By the time Shawn arrived, he turned the AC on, and it remarkably came back to life. He explained that the motor may have overheated and may need to be replaced soon, but it’s working for now, so we didn’t replace anything this time. He didn’t charge me anything, since he didn’t actually repair/​replace anything which is awesome! And, he took a pic of my AC serial number so that he can easily order me a new motor when I do need one! He also spent some time educating me on how the AC works, it’s limitations, and how to get the most life out of it. Great guy, great service!

My AC decided to stop working the other day when it was 95+ degrees outside. The result: my home became a sweltering hellhole within about 20 minutes. After calling around and getting told I couldn’t have anyone come out until at least July 1, I called Duffey’s. Shawn told me he was very busy but that he would get to my house that same day. And even though he was delayed due to a problem with his truck, he still showed up and promptly replaced the capacitor. I felt the price was extremely fair and I really appreciate Shawn’s willingness to squeeze me in on a day when many other homeowners were having AC problems. When we need any HVAC services in the future, we are calling Duffey’s first!

I knew the furnace in my new (for me) house was old and in need of repair and I brought in a firm which sends out a letter with huge discounts to inspect it (It turned out that I didn’t qualify for any huge discounts) and then I had one of the big box stores give me an estimate to replace it. The estimate was way more than I had expected. Finally I called Duffey’s for a second estimate because of their good reviews on Unilocal.
I liked Shawn right away, and asked him to prepare an estimate which he said he would send later in the day. Even before the estimate arrived I had decided to give him the business. When his estimate was about half of the big box store I was even more sure.
He did a wonderful job of replacing the furnace and my hot water heater. But the best part was working with someone one I could trust. (don’t know how to explain it — but working with the owner, rather than the salesman of a larger firm, make it easier to trust)

I came home last week to a 49-​degree home after being gone on vacation for two weeks. After reading reviews, I called Shawn. He was able to be at my place within an hour to take a look at my furnace. It turned out my ignitor light was just dirty which he was able to clean, and my heat was on within 10 minutes of his being here. Shawn is fantastic, friendly, and completely trustworthy. I can’t help but wonder how many other companies may have charged me for a replacement while Shawn just let me know it was dirty. He easily won a new customer that day, and I highly recommend him to anyone.

Came home at 4 p.m. to find the A/​C not working. I assumed I would have to suffer until the next day but Duffey’s was able to come the same day! Woot! So, we’re off to a good start with Duffey’s.
Shawn was a very friendly guy, prompt — arrived at the time he said he would despite coming from another job. Within the hour he had the problem diagnosed, had parts on his truck and it was fixed… ahhh, cool house again.
Service call, parts and labor were all reasonable — didn’t seem too high or too low. He also gave me some tips on things I can do to keep the A/​C running better and save myself some money. I appreciate that.
By all counts Duffey’s was great to work with and I would recommend them to anyone!

Shawn came out on the same day I called after a long job earlier that day. He was thorough, compassionate, and informative despite giving us some bad news about our AC unit. After completing a temporary repair to get us up and going, he called back the next day to see how everything was working. I was skeptical of the legitimacy of all 5 star ratings when I originally called (I tend to be a skeptic though) but I am quite impressed.

If you need your HVAC system serviced or repaired don’t look any further than Duffey’s. Shawn came and tuned up our AC and it is running like a champ. Prior to Shawn’s visit the unit was running a lot and not cooling the house effectively. Not only is our house cooler (the AC can actually hold the desired temperature now) but it doesn’t run nearly as much. I only wish we would have know abut Shawn earlier. He was extremely professional and courteous and answered all of our questions. He made his repairs quickly and for a very reasonable price. I can’t recommend Duffey’s highly enough and for any future heating or cooling needs we have we will certainly be calling him. Thanks a «ton» Shawn.

When you find your AC doesn’t work in the middle of a 100-​degree week, you need to find someone who can help you out fast! Luckily my husband got ahold of Shawn, who was easy to reach and was available to help us out that day. Shawn gave us an initial quote up front to come out and see what was going on with our AC, which was comparable to quotes we got from others. Shawn arrived on time and was very friendly. I know this is probably silly to non-​dog owners, but Shawn was so kind and patient with our little pup who is pretty anxious about strangers coming to our house (he even took some time to feed him a few treats and earn his trust). Once our dog realized Shawn wasn’t scary and decided to stop barking, Shawn got right to work. He was really thorough in his quest to figure out what was going on and was able to quickly diagnose the problem. Shawn also talked about something he could do to prevent the same problem from happening again, but never put on pressure to up-​sell or try to convince us to do it. Overall, Shawn was friendly, thorough, and honest – if you need heating or air conditioning work, I highly recommend Duffey’s!

Shawn was on time, quick, clean, friendly, knowledgeable, and went through more than the necessary repair. The repairs were completed quickly and professionally, and for a very reasonable cost to me.
