Ackerman & Sons Furniture Workshop was established in 1895 by Jim Ackerman’s great-​grandfather. Since then, our five generations have offered full-​service furniture repairs, refinishing, touch-​up and re-​upholstery. From the smallest scratch in your home to complete restoration in our workshop, our customers have entrusted their treasures to us for more than a century.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Jim Ackerman grew up in the furniture industry. He was trained in repairs, reupholstery and refinishing by his grandfather and father and worked in the family business before and after college. He and his new wife moved to Colorado in 1970 and started Ackerman & Sons Furniture Workshop with his brother Jeff. Jeff moved back to Minnesota to start a piano refinishing business. Jim & Kathy’s son Mike has since joined the business as the 5th generation.
