24 Hour Fitness

They can never seem to keep up with the broken treadmills. It’s not exactly rocket science, all you have to do is have someone test them out every morning and put signs on the ones that don’t work. Then, get them fixed! Overall just poor service and poor experience. Some staff seem to care less about the machines being broken.

Environment: clean, most machines are typically in working order, the people that work out there are nice. Definitely not an intimidating or beginners gym — you’re somewhere in the middle. Staff isn’t roaming around constantly asking about personal training which is nice. Pool area is nice complete with sauna, steam and hot tub. Plenty of cardio equipment — although could use another stair stepper or two.
Front desk: not the most informed group. I’ve gone a couple of times with questions just to be stared at blankly and get «uhhh I dunno.» Then have to ask to speak to someone who does know and again… Blank stare with «uhhh I dunno.»
Personal trainers: met a couple in passing and appear nice. I met with one for their free 1:1 and that was a waste of time. I thought it would be a work out, maybe some measurements, and an eval as to where you are and where you want to be. We did maybe three exercises, talked about goals, no measurements, and the majority of the time was spent on the cost and the what ifs if you don’t use personal training.
To be honest, I have been off and on with 24 hr due to cost over the past few years, but the Costco deal is one that can’t be beat. 24 has been my choice gym since 2010 and as long as it’s still around, I’ll be going.

I’ve had good & bad experiences here, but the good outweigh the bad.
When I first came in I waited and waited and waited for someone to talk to me. There was one person behind the counter and he was taking forever serving another lady. Everyone else stood around talking for about 5 minutes before someone asked me if I needed help. Great start…
A nice man showed me around. He was very friendly, the usual, asked me about thing that I liked to do etc. Showed me the self class screens so you can do your own thing in the fitness rooms if no class in on etc. He neglected to tell me that most of the lockers require you to bring a lock, but as it turns out not all of them, some have the code things on them. In the past, I’ve done his job and to me, that’s sort-​of important to know. I told him that I liver closer to a different 24hr Fitness but work nearer to this one. He told me the differences between them like the towel service, more classes at the super sport etc. but this one is cheaper than the others.
I started on a 3 day trial and then joined the bigger 24hr near my house so I can use both gyms. I use this one the most because my colleague and I are in a good work/​gym routine and the afternoon and lunchtime classes work well for us

My first class she didn’t come with me so I went it alone and did a cycle class, Tuesday at Noon. The instructor has a very high pitched voice and had the microphone turned up so loud that I couldn’t even hear her properly and it was giving me a headache. The following Tuesday was much better but both times she came in 5 minutes late to the class. What annoyed me the most was that she’d never seen me before and didn’t think to ask if I was new to the gym, or knew how to set the bike up properly etc. Lucky for her, I know but if I was brand new to the gym, having this as my first every class would have made me never want to come back. The thing with these big generic gyms are that if you’re new and don’t know what to do or how to set up the equipment, you have to ask! I can’t stress that enough. They see a new face and just assume that you’ve never done their class before, but have no idea if you’ve never step foot in a gym before.
Since then I’ve met some better instructors who have asked and taken the time to come and chat if you’re a new face (Thursday Noon Cycle and Monday afternoon Combat). All of the classes I have done have been good (aside form that first one) including pump and yoga as well.

In life, if your equipment doesn’t work, relationships don’t work out. In 24 Hour fitness, if the equipment doesn’t work, members don’t work out.
I’m so sick and tired of weight machines and treadmills not working here and never getting fixed. Also, it amazes me that the gym can’t afford pins for every machine and a set of stoppers/​collars for every bench.

Overall I’m very happy with this 24 hour fitness location. The rates are reasonable, there’s a pool and hot tub, basketball court, all the fitness machines I could ask for, FREE TRX, and a decent amount of classes. I tend to go to some of the other 24 hour fitness for their Zumba classes, but that’s just personal taste. I’d give them 5 stars if they added more weekend classes too. Honestly, you can’t beat the value for the price. Wayyyy cheaper than the Highlands Ranch Rec Center and better class offerings than the YMCA.

This place is great. For starters, it’s HUGE. There’s enough equipment here to accomodate any workout, and you almost never have to wait for a machine to free up because they have multiples of everything. The staff is nice, it’s kept clean, and membership is well worth the price, which isn’t outrageous to begin with. I love that I can go any time — I’ve been in as late as 1am before.

After returning here, I realized it isn’t as good as I thought it was. Over time I have noticed how there appear to be a number of machines which don’t work properly and are never fixed. Furthermore, I think they have had many of the same machines that they had over ten years ago. The customer service has slipped a bit since recently when I check in, the employees maybe glance at me or just keep speaking with their co-​worker (s). I don’t expect them to grovel when I walk in, but a simple «hello» is always nice. Years ago when I came here the staff was really outgoing and it was easy to chat with them. I think overall this 24 hour fitness has stagnated, and there hasn’t been much change in the past ten years. I pay around $ 29.99 a month, so I don’t expect luxury, but nowadays there are places like planet fitness where (I hear) you can get a $ 10 monthly membership. Or, places like LA Fitness where for around $ 34.99 you can be in a club where you can still smell the «New Club» scent. Long story short, this place ain’t bad, but it seems like the management is just trying to see «how many miles» they can get out of the place until things must be updated. 24 Hour, please make an effort to show that you’re better than your competitors!

I just wanted to express my dissatisfaction with Kerry, who teaches the monday 12 p.m. yoga class at the Highlands Ranch location. She is downright rude and has a huge attitude that she is better than her students. She snares at anyone who comes in even seconds late and belittles people when their poses aren’t exactly how she prefers them to be. I thought everyone had their own personal limits in yoga and not everyone had to do exactly what is being demonstrated; she has never suggested that students can modify with poses and that is wrong. So someones chest isn’t high enough? Don’t bite their heads off and embarrass them in front of the whole class with a bitchy attitude and tone. Also, I witnessed someone fart in class and she was so rude she started laughing at them; how mortifying! Please say something to Kerry bc I have been coming to this class for almost 3 years and she has always seemed rude and unfit to instruct a class. Her patience is zero with people and that is not a good quality for someone who teaches yoga. I thought the class was supposed to help de-​stress, not add stress!

Train your managers & staff to go above & beyond with
Customer service – fix things immediately & then watch
Your membership grow! Seriously, changes are needed!

Best 24 Hour Fitness I’ve ever been to! Even though it’s a Sport location (included on the membership package I bought from Costco), it’s fancier than other Sport locations I’ve been to and I hate that after moving I’m no longer going to be going to this location. When I was it was in Highlands Ranch I thought it was going to be filled with entitled kids and prissy housewives but I was wrong, it’s pretty much normal peeps like me! Beautiful and spacious locker room for the ladies (my only complaint is the toilets that are old school, you know, the ones you actually have to push down the handle. Apparently some ladies have forgotten how to use these), the most I’ve seen in the locker room at one time was three other people so it’s nice not running into people left and right. The entire section downstairs is cardio and I love love LOVE that they have the pimped out Precor AMT ellipticals, I haven’t seen these in any of the 24 Hour Fitness locations in Denver! These machines are straight up awesome and allow you a grander range of motion compared to regular ellipticals. They have a few cardio machines upstairs along with a spin room and group class room but it’s mainly weights on the second floor. They have a lot of machines and it’s not entirely taken up by too many beefcakes, although there is one older gentleman who I like to call the Mayor who talks to every other almost-​beefcake and stares at himself way too much. What can I say, I love people watching. They have a huge area for free weights and kettlebells and have never had to weight (pun intended) for a machine or spot to fit in. Staff has always been friendly, huge parking lot and like I said before, best location I’ve been to in Denver. The added fact that I’ve lost 20 lbs ever since going here is a bonus

After having an issue with the staff at this location, the manager of this club responded immediately to my complaint. She was absolutely wonderful and changed my thoughts on this club. I will continue working out at this location due to the management and the great interaction I had! I highly recommend this club for the friendly staff, layout of the equipment and the fact that it is not that crowded.

One of the better 24 hour fitness in the metro area.
Avoid Monday’s & Wednesdays, it’s a little too crowded. We drop the kids of at the kids center and the people working there are great with kids. We dont hesitate dropping the kids off and working out for a couple of hours.

Love this location.
I love the layout of this gym, I am usually in the group x classes so that’s what I“m reviewing on.
Lots of classes, the instructors are all great. The room is big but depending on time/​class it can get PACKED.
I wish they would retrofit the drinking fountain to fill water bottles though. It’s such an easy fix, wish they’d do it already.

Staff are super friendly, and the group x instructors start to get to know their regulars in class. The only bad part of this club, is the fact that their is usually at least a couple of machines out of order.

Extremely poor customer service. I wanted to watch the football game while working on the eliptical. The girl behind the counter couldn’t help; only Matt could change the channels, and Matt couldn’t find the Nationally televised Thanksgiving game. So he put it on the NFL channel, which clearly said that was another program, and said, ‘this must be it.’ I left to go to another 24 Hour Fitness. When I tried to call to complain to the manager, they left me on hold for 5 minutes and then disconnected me.

Now this is a GYM! HOT guys everywhere! And for the guys, really, really pretty girls.
HUGE spacious workout space. Tons of cardio machines. The free weights area is the best I have seen. Tons of weight machines that were a little to close together in my opinion. I loved the «circuit stations» and have not jumped rope in a very long time. And the sit-​up machine where you toss the ball in the hoop was so cool.
Their class rooms looked really small but they were packed and the peeps spining it up right on top of each other didn’t seem to mind. I also loved the carpeted designated area for stretching instead of those rough black rubber areas I have seen at most 24’s.
The staff was also very helpful and there was more than enough trainers available if you had any questions.
But the guys… the guys working out here are HOT!

This is a great place to work out. For me, it’s just the right size. The bottom level is filled with elliptical and treadmills, primarily cardio machines. I’ve never had a problem getting on a machine when I needed one.
There’s an upper level with free weights and weight machines as well as a few cardio machines.
I know someone who has a personal trainer there (Chris, I believe?) and has seen some amazing results.
I love the variety of equipment. I usually avoid some of the peak hours like the after work rush, but even when it’s busy– it never seems *too* crowded.
The main thing I want to rave about is the BodyFlow class with Teresa. It’s been an absolute blast! I wish they’d offer that class more often, because I know the one I go to is pretty full every time! It’s worth the cost of membership just for this class once a week! I love it!

Some of the BEST yoga instructors I’ve had the privilege of practicing with. Been to Manhattan, San Diego, Seattle, Baltimore… these instructors are great!
