O’Looney’s Wine & Liquor

This is a great place for wine. They have a great selection of wine and lots of wine bags. People are very friendly. Jonathan was very helpful. He even told me to call when I arrived and they will just put all the wine in my trunk. Another guy brought the wine to my trunk and even opened my door — thank you!
Recommendations: Sea Smoke Ten & Southing (just don’t buy it all, ok?), Kosta Browne, Golden Eye Pinot. Delicious.
Great service and great selections. You get a discounts off a case of 12 bottles of wine.
All liquor stores are closed on Sunday’s for those who didn’t know. So stock up!

I went into O’Looneys for the first time this week to stock up on wine and spirits for Thanksgiving. I typically shop at a store in midtown but was in the area and ran in since it was convenient. Because it is next door to one of the most expensive restaurants in town, I expected it to be snooty and overpriced. Boy was I wrong.
From the moment I walked in, I was surprised by the cool vibe the store has. The guys working there seemed laid back but were very knowledgeable about beer and wine. They helped me pick out a couple of red wines (one less than $ 20 and one about $ 30) plus steered me to 2 new (to me) beers. The service and the selection was really impressive.
But having a great experience was only one part of this review. Today my wine was the hit of Thanksgiving. I got several complements on my choices. The only negative was I should have bought more. Even though it isn’t in my neighborhood, I will definitely return to O’Looneys. You can’t beat their service and selection.
