TL;DR review: It’s okay. But *just* okay. They don’t take cash. If this business wasn’t owned by a customer of my employer, this is where the review would end, because I would have driven off, having never tasted their food or exchanging money for it. I have a solid«no cash — no customer» policy with only one exception; and only that because I’ve been their customer basically since I’ve been alive. It’s quick. It’s very quick. It’s so quick you KNOW it was sitting in a chafer for quite some time. Another clue to that point is that it was hot enough to burn my mouth after a five minute drive. Then it sat on the counter open for another three minutes. Then it *still* was almost too hot to eat. The flavor is okay, but *just* okay. For orange chicken, I really expect more orange flavor — which is funny, because you can see the orange peel in this dish. I also expect more spice, which is funny because my serving had about six thai peppers in it. I don’t currently have a cold, by the way, and even after eating this orange chicken(which was listed as spicy on the menu), my nose isn’t running. The bread/batter on the chicken was weird too. It was hard, but not necessarily crispy at all. Judging by the temperature of the chicken(and I’m no chef at all), the only explanation I can really muster is that it was crispy at first, then it soaked up so much of the sauce that it became soggy, then the temperature of the chafer«cooked» it to hardness again. This wasn’t altogether unpleasant, but not really desirable either. There was a lot of food there, but I didn’t finish it. I probably should have ordered a lunch special, which would have probably been fresher and would have had other distractions to keep me from sitting there pondering why the texture of the meat wasn’t quite right. If you want Chinese, and you’re in the area, you can probably do better, even at the same price point.
