At Eneslow, we know that every person and every foot is different. Each person walks, runs, jogs, exer­cises, and does so many other things differently than anyone else. Individuals all

have differ­ent lifestyles. This is why we treat each person as a unique individual.

The Eneslow Team is made up of highly trained career professionals with as much as forty years experience, (average 15 years) in footwear and pedorthic footcare. We currently employ twelve (12) board certified pedorthists all trained by our award winning Eneslow Pedorthic Institute (EPI) faculty. Our master shoemakers, orthopedic technicians, and skilled pedorthists

work hand-​in-​hand to provide the best possible outcomes for every one of our clients.

Eneslow has been serving the medical community and the pub­lic by providing footwear and footcare products and services to pre­vent and relieve painful and debilitating conditions that are managed at the foot and lower extremity.

History

Established in 1905.

Eneslow, originally known N.S. Low, was founded by Edward and Nellie Stone Low in 1909, selling trusses and surgical products on Avenue A. In 1914, Nat Low joined Edward Low, and the business was incorporated. The shoe department was introduced in 1926 in the midst of America’s infantile paralysis epidemic when braces and splints were a common remedy. The shoe department introduction had been possible because Sol joined Eneslow. The same year, Eneslow moved to 220 East 23^rd Street.

By the 1940s, the company had attracted the attention of Paul Schwartz, who owned the wholesale business Apex Foot Health Industries, which sold foot products, particularly orthotics and arch supports. As a wholeseller, he sold his products to Eneslow.

In 1968, Paul and Charles Schwartz bought the company and moved its headquarters to 695 6^th Avenue. At that time, Eneslow has two other locations, one in Brooklyn since 1949 and one in the Bronx since 1937.

Robert S. Schwartz, C. Ped, is president and CEO of Eneslow Pedorthic Enterprises, Inc. which operates Eneslow, The Foot Comfort Center, Eneslow Pedorthic Institute (EPI), and www​.enes​low​.com. Eneslow and Mr. Schwartz are recognized as leaders in the footwear and footcare industries, and in our local community.
