First Choice Emergency Room

The people here are nice but the amount of money you pay even with insurance is ridiculous. I’m sure this is an issue at most emergency rooms. I went in to get an X-​ray on my hand and the whole process took about an hour. I paid the $ 100 copay and then several weeks later I received a bill from insurance and then from First Choice. $ 2,000 for one little x-​ray! The x-​ray itself was $ 500.00 but the «visit» was $ 1,357.00 which seems absolutely crazy to me. Then they bring me a splint that I ended up never using and I saw it was almost $ 100. Anywhere I can return this? So even after insurance I’m out of pocket about $ 600 for a simple x ray. Unless you are dying I would recommend finding somewhere cheaper.

This place is beyond horrible! My husband had the unfortunate notion that this is actually a hospital with real doctors working there. He went there hast night and was treated rudely and with much disrespect. We will be filing a complaint with the state to make sure that no one falls victim to this so called hospital again! This place should be shut down immediately!

I went to Baylor Frisco ER on Wednesday night and told them I had a very sore throat, nausea and stomach problems and had been throwing up. They did a CT scan and gave me one IV, took blood, did an EKG and sent me home with nausea meds and meds to settle my stomach. 3 nurses, 1 Med tech, 1 X-​ray tech all got told my throat hurt and none of them looked at it. The next morning I go to First Choice ER in Little Elm, and t this point, it hurts to talk, I’m dizzy and finding it hard to walk without wanting to throw up. Within minutes I was in a bed, nurses talking to me, IV inserted, strep throat confirmed, penicillin and IVs with antibiotics administered and by the next day I can go back to work. A couple of days later a First Choice nurse calls me to check on me and ask if there is anything else they can do for me. Me and my family will be back to First Choice not Baylor Frisco ER.

Excellent Staff! Super friendly and did all they could to make me comfortable. My neck was injured pretty badly and they were very compassionate and accommodating. My doctor was sincere and had a wonderful bedside manner. Even called me two days afterwards to check on me to see how I was feeling. Love this place! Will go back should I ever have another emergency!

I rather die then visit this location again! Disrespectful, lack of sympathy from some of the staff actually had me walk out and go back home to suffer! God forbid I become paralyze for lack of proper help bc I will file a formal complaint ! One of the staff actually mouthed «Whatever» to my mother when we told them I was leaving! You can take people’s money but God forbid you actually help!!!

Staff was super friendly and made me feel at ease. My regular Dr. was booked but I really needed to be seen today. They were great and so conveniently close to my home. If I ever have another medical emergency… now I know where to go.

I stopped at the facility on my way home from work for a strained neck and shoulder. I was so impressed by how quickly they called me back in less then 5 min. No waiting time. Everyone from the front desk to the Doctor were very professional and thorough. I would recommend my family and friends here.

Friendly staff and prompt service, and a nice facility, but MAN do they charge a lot. Just to go sit in the room and talk to the doctor and get a simple shot cost almost $ 2000 — you got to be kidding me. My insurance is pretty top notch and comprehensive, but apparently, I’m not the only one whose insurance does not cover this place’s ridiculous prices. I would go elsewhere if you can help it.

The First Choice ER is great! I went in and was greeted and in a room within 3 minutes. I saw the nurse and doctor within 10 minutes. They were friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. I was in and out within an hour. I felt comfortable with the staff and the cleanliness of the ER. I would recommend this ER to anyone who needs one.

Best ER experience ever! I was greeted immediately and politely by the front desk, It was clean and quiet. I didn’t wait at all. As soon as I completed the paperwork I was taken back. Within 10 mins I was already in a room, had been triaged by the nurse, seen the Dr. and taken back for my CT scan. They were all wonderful and I will make sure to only use this ER for my families emergencies. Thank you to the staff at FCER Little Elm! I feel better already!

this not an emergency «clinic». Its an actual emergency room.

I agree with other reviewers, they get you in and out really fast. Problem is I was expecting a urgent care type facility. This place charges SO MUCH more then any ER we have ever been too and unfortunately we have had our fair share of ER visits.
I would like to preface this by pointing out I have outstanding insurance and no co-​pays.
I had a sports injury one weekend and was unable to get in to CareNow quick enough and was in so much pain I opted for the next closest place. I had X-​rays and exam and walked out with 2 scripts. Piece of cake… fast forward 3 weeks and I get a bill from them for $ 1,600. Call my insurance company and they said it was coded wrong and I only owe $ 68.00. 2 weeks later First choice sends me yet ANOTHER bill now for $ 458 bucks, keep in mind this was not on any prior bill. It now says this is the doctors exam fee. Call insurance and they say that was an denied since the original bill covered the exam fee.
First Choice refused to adjust this balance and cannot explain why there are 2 exam charges. Stating they are both valid, one is a clinic charge and the other is the physicians fee.
Last year I had a similar contusion and went to Carenow… my total bill was around $ 500 and covered 100% by insurance.
So…I cannot recommend this place at all. next time we have a serious injury we will go to forest park… a true hospital… of course with the attached costs.

My wife was vey dehydrated and had nausea. They had her hooked up to an IV with fluids going and meds administered before I could finish the small amount of paperwork. By the way, we did not have an appointment. Staff was very friendly and attentive.
We hope that we do not have to go back to an emergency clinic, but we will go back here if we need a clinic.

While I thought I was walking into an Urgent Care clinic and learned afterward that it was really just an ER (I was desperate and miserable from an allergic reaction!), I am SO PLEASED I did. This place was STELLAR! The staff there was so incredibly kind to me – smiling faces, pleasant vibe… I was even laughing and giggling with the nurse in the middle of being sticked for an IV. It was clean, welcoming and I walked out feeling much better. Highly recommended!

I was referred by a friend to visit FCER. I was very pleased. They called me back before my paperwork was even filled out. Staff were very kind, thorough, and helpful. Will definitely visit again. The only thing I was disappointed in was I didn’t get my inhaler refilled (I have sever asthma and was diagnosed yesterday with the flu.) I’m having very labored breathing so I called back this morning (less than 12 hrs from leaving FCER) and was told to have an inhaler called in, I would have to be re-​seen. I thought that was a little ridiculous because obviously I feel awful don’t want to get out (or put other people at risk for the flu) I also am not paying another $ 75 to be seen again and pay another $ 50 for the inhaler… so I’m not really sure what to do at this point. All in all the staff that I dealt with personally were very comprehensive and delightful.

I was impressed from check in through check out. The staff was not only professional but showed me kindness throughout my stay. This is what healthcare should be.

Was in and out in 30 mintues and the staff was so nice and personable. Would highly recommend this facility!

I visited this location today for the first time. It wasn’t serious but they got me in quick. The staff was very professional. I was seen by Dr Masterson. He took the time to explain everything to my wife and I. Not once did I feel rushed and it felt like he was my doctor for years. I would definitely choose First Choice Emergency Room if I need medical attention.

My daughter sprained her ankle playing basketball so I decided to give this new facility a try, considering it’s less than a mile from my house. The entire staff was extremely friendly… Exceptional service from the beginning to end! We were in and out of there within an hour not to mention that was including x ray’s & registration.
