We’ve stayed here twice and had a great visit both times. We stayed in the Rose Garden room which was very private and quiet. Mil and Karen are very welcoming — my boyfriend felt comfotable enough to stretch out on the couch and fall asleep watching TV(just like if he was at home.) the three course breakfasts are great and Karen is very good about working around food issues. She bought almond milk for our visit and worked out breakfast menus with us that met our need for minimal dairy. She also made a seperate breakfast entrée for a last minute guest who needed a gluten free breakfast. We will be coming back to stay again.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Hammer Creek Hideaway in January of 2014, so this review is long overdue. We stayed for two nights in the Regal suite. We arrived pretty late on our first evening, but the owners, Mill and Karen, stayed up to greet us and check us in. There was a huge plate of chocolates waiting in our room when we entered. The place was clean and beautifully furnished. The window in our room overlooked both the backyard and the snowy plains beyond. Outside our room was a communal area with tea and hot water available for guests of the home. The next morning we were treated with a wonderfully presented three course breakfast. I don’t remember exactly what was served, but I do recall playfully cut fruit as an appetizer followed by a breakfast casserole and some sort of sweet for dessert. Karen and Mill were both attentive to our needs. They were very familiar with the area and recommended things for us to do when we were unsure. Karen even went as far as setting up dinner plans with a local Amish household for us(an AMAZING experience – ask Karen if you’re also interested in having dinner in a real Amish home). There’s a small town a couple of miles away from the bed and breakfast, with a bar, ice cream shop, and even a famous pretzel factory. Overall, our experience at Hammer Creek Hideaway was great. The fact that there were only three guest rooms total gave the bed and breakfast an air of privacy and spaciousness. The owners were appropriately attentive without being overbearing. This place sets the bar high for bed & breakfasts.
