Organic café and bistro in beautiful historic downtown Lititz with a world menu serving best chocolate, coffees, teas and food all made and baked on site with local organic produce. All chocolates are from cacao beans, with unique truffles and bars gluten free, vegan and sugar free. Signature drinks: chocolate strawberry lush, Turbo and chocolate mint rooibos teas. Signature dishes — Chili con Chocolate, Dark chocolate crêpe with Marscapone cheese & fresh strawberries, house salad dressing made with dark chocolate & fresh berries. All day breakfast and young-at-heart menus too. Gluten free substitutes available all times, including crepes, flatbread pizza & sandwiches. Also many vegan dishes. Our motto is «Customers are the real owners of Café Chocolate.» Our mission statement is «Chocolate for Life!»
History
Established in 2004.
Café Chocolate grew out of Selina’s wish to have fun, learn and make money! It is fueled by the belief that farmers are the most important people to great tasting food and to our health. Sustainable organic farming benefits our environment, the farmers and all of us who eat. Cacao, coffee and teas are the three most magical food/beverage that we accept as our daily right to enjoy. Café is dedicated to honoring the fact that the best chocolates, coffees and teas are all from plants grown often in high altitude places and/or rainforests by artisanal farmers, the sale of which shape the future of families in very low income communities. As much as possible, we work directly with farmers. Café supports fair trade principles in every way — including the way we pay Team Café Chocolate, without whom there is no Café Chocolate. We also care about our environment. Our sustainable kitchen uses only induction to do all the cooking. Greenware is used for all disposables and we recycle.

Business Owner
Everything Selina has learned, she learned it by being a mom! Of Chinese heritage, Selina became Chief Chocolate Officer from the girl who hates chocolate. She has lived, worked, drank and eaten in Canada, US, Australia, NZ, HK, and Japan. A reformed urbanite with a PhD who has worked in global finance, she now travels on behalf of Café Chocolate. She has visited coffee growers in Ethiopia and Costa Rica. She has harvested cacao beans alongside farmers in Dominica and Costa Rica. And trekked through tea plantations in Japan and India. Selina loves all things organic fresh and wholesome, especially in people like John Scarffenberger, Pierrick Chouard, Alice Waters and the 75 farmers of Lancaster Farm Fresh Coop and CSA. She has taken chocolate courses with Jacquy Pfeiffer, Wilbur and the C.I.A. Words to live by — we would not die without Wall St., without food, we would. Without good food, we would die sooner!
