Whether you are building a new home or remodeling your present home, our Kitchen and Bath department is able to help you. We offer state of the art design services. We will work with you through the design, selection and scheduling processes. We also sell and install hardwood, ceramic tile, laminate, carpet and vinyl floors. Our Lawn and Garden dept is a full line servicing dealer specializing in premium equipment. We carry such high quality brands as John Deere, Honda, Scag, Echo and Toro. The Hardware Department carries everything from hammers and nails to grills and shovels. We carry all the tools and parts needed to get your next home improvement or construction project done quickly and easily. Our knowledgeable, helpful employees can assist you in taking your next painting project from start to finish. Our paint department carries several brands of paint and virtually thousands of colors to pick from. We can also custom match the color of your choice.

History

Established in 1887.

Phares Bomberger, at the age of 20, bought out the owner of a small trading post, known as the John Gable General Store, located in the village of Elm, Lancaster County, PA. In 1887, the store was renamed Bomberger’s General Store, offering everything from bread and milk, to hammers and nails. Several generations, and 85 years later, in 1972, a new store was built on the property, doubling space and sales. The Lawn and Garden Department was added at this time, and there was a further expansion of the Grocery, Hardware, Dry Goods, Gun, Insurance, and Floor Covering Departments. On November 15, 1994, Bomberger’s celebrated the opening of its brand new store in the picturesque town of Lititz, located approximately 2 miles from its founding location.

Business Owner

Bomberger’s remains a family owned and operated store. Currently managing the store are Henry Jr. and Roy Jr., fourth-​generation Bombergers. Several of Henry Jr.‘s children, the fifth generation, are also working here, including Richard & Jenny Bomberger, Bob & Dori Resch, and Todd Bomberger. Just recently the 6^th generation has started working at the store in various departments.
