We stayed one night in July 2014. Pro’s — Check in was effortless and staff were friendly. We had one of the renovated rooms and it was clean but still had the older styled furniture. Con’s — The hotel was in the midst of extensive renovation and we were not aware of that fact WHEN we made reservations! WIFI performance is spotty even for simple streamed audio :(Toilet paper holder is falling off wall in newly renovated bathroom… poor construction! Bathtub fixtures are loose. Summary — Call the hotel BEFORE you reserve your room. Renovation is a messy process! Rating = C–(should be reevaluated after work is completed)

I ‘ve had three negative experiences with this property. 1. I scheduled a sleepover/pool party at this hotel for a child with a winter birthday. The indoor pool was the draw and when I discussed my plans with management, they said that everything was OK. She even made arrangements to use their breakfast area for cake and other refreshments, saving me the need to rent an event space in addition to a suite. I made the reservation a couple of months in advance, called a week prior to remind them of my plans, and confirmed again the morning of the event. However, when I arrived thirty minutes prior to start time, the lifeguard I had hired and I were told that the pool was not open. When I told the woman at the front desk that my son’s friends would be arriving shortly, she laughed and acted as if it were funny. Thank God for their neighbor, the Hilton Garden Inn. They did not have any suites, adjoining rooms, or an event space available for our use, but they made us feel welcome and were able to accommodate us immediately. 2. When I called the following Monday to complain, the then manager explained that a diaper had been found in the pool, apologized for the inconvenience, and offered us the use of a complimentary suite in the future. When I took her up on the offer, the room reeked of marijuana but I did not complain because she was extremely nice and it was free. 3. Months later, I reserved a room there for a relative who lives out of town. When I could not reach her the following morning, I called the front desk to ask if she had checked out. The employee was very rude and hung up on me. I then got an angry text from my relative indicating that the person with whom I had spoken had claimed that I had called multiple times to see if they were trying to bill additional nights to my credit card, something that was completely untrue. Another manager offered me thousands of rewards points to be used elsewhere when I refused her offer of a free stay there. However, when I inquired about my points months later they had not been credited. According to the yet another manager(their turnover rate is very high) records of my reservation and relative’s stay no longer existed and there was nothing he could do. Therefore I have this advice: save yourself all headaches and inconvenience. Stay instead at the Hilton Garden Inn. The rooms are not as spacious but the amenities are nicer and the staff is much more pleasant and professional.

You might be forgiven if, looking at this hotel from the outside, you thought this looked like an accomodating, modern hotel with fine amenities and comforts for guests. You’d be mistaken. I barely know where to begin. How about with the fact that I requested a King-sized bed and received two Twins instead? Of course, if the concierge had told me before I entered the room, I might’ve asked for something else, but alas, outsmarted again. Of course, once you walk into your room, you’ll notice that someone has apparently built a time machine and gone back and gotten you a TV from 1992. How much is a 31″ HDTV these days? 200 bucks? Come on, guys. Then there’s the shower. The low water pressure is irritating enough, but the high-pitched squeal coming from it really wakes you up, at no extra cost! Imagine the convenience! The gym is fairly mediocre, which I’ve come to expect from most hotels. One treadmill, one stairmaster, one bike, and one vaguely small/unimpressive cable resistance machine, so if you have ideas of doing something specific… you should probably give it up now. Speaking of giving up, to call that thing a «pool» is an insult to honest, hard-working pools across the globe. Maybe a small child could be amused by this, but it really is the tiniest, jokiest pool I’ve ever seen. I imagine the person who designed it had a good laugh. Also, I’m not a jacuzzi expert, but I am pretty sure the water isn’t supposed to be a tepid 68. Maybe I am just being a stickler here. On a plus note, the complimentary breakfast is actually decent and you can make your own waffle with a waffle iron, which is pretty cool. They also have bagels, hard-boiled eggs, cereal, and some pre-packed Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches. It’s not gourmet, but it’s free and I’ve seen much worse. The wireless is also free, though service is spotty. Finally, and perhaps most impressively: they have two elevators, but they are seemingly not even linked. So if one of the elevators is closer but you hit the other button, too bad. Choose wisely, my friend. You should probably start by choosing a different hotel.

I stayed at the Fairfield Inn for two nights at $ 99 per night plus tax(AAA discount people) and enjoyed my stay. The room was comfortable with plenty of pillows. The cleaning staff noticed that I didn’t have any toothpaste and put some toothpaste in my room. They also have free wireless internet, my sons really enjoyed that perk. Penny at the front desk was both charming and accommodating. This hotel is lucky to have her. In fact, all of the staff at this hotel was great including Maya and the gentleman on the night shift at the front desk. I would definitely stay at this hotel again when traveling to Atlanta since this hotel is about 30 minutes from either the airport or downtown Atlanta and is in a suburban setting with plenty of restaurant choices nearby.
