Baltimore Center For Laser Dentistry

I never thought I’d be giving a five-​star rating to *any* dentist, since it’s not typically an experience that can be called anything close to enjoyable, but Dr. Pohlhaus and the staff at the Baltimore Center for Laser Dentistry are as good as it gets.
I’ve been a patient for around two years now, and I’ve gotten routine cleanings, a cavity filling, and a frenectomy (snipping the tissue connecting my lip and gum). Dr. Pohlhaus used a laser both to detect cavities and to excavate them before filling, and it was much more efficient (and much cooler) to have the laser give off a small beep when a cavity was detected than the usual poking around and doing everything by inspection.
I’ve only ever had appointments in the early morning (anywhere from 7:30 to 8:30) because the office is quite close to my job. Even with the frenectomy, I was able to go to work after each procedure since the laser greatly reduced the need for novocaine or other anesthesia. I’ve recommended Dr. Pohlhaus to friends and family, and now the whole internet with this review. Dr Pohlhaus is a very knowledgeable dentist and is direct about taking care of you right the first time. This office is not the kind that tries to ring up the insurance register, they want to do what is right for you and get your teeth in working order. No fancy cosmetics or extra fluff. The staff is amazing, they are friendly, courteous and extremely helpful. They have an awesome system to remind you of your appointments, by using email and text messages. They keep you on track for your next appointment and guide you through the process.
They are always eager to let you know about your financial obligations if you ask and constantly update you when new information is available.
Laser surgery is far more advanced than the traditional drilling method, for me this meant/​means less shots of Novocaine, less pain and a quicker healing process. I was in the Navy for 21 years and poked and prodded by all sorts of dentists and it has taken me 6 years to find a dentist that I feel comfortable with and can take care of my teeth. If you want your teeth fixed right and a great staff to boot, I suggest you look no further and setup an appointment with the Pohlhaus Team.
