Wingate by Wyndham BWI Airport

Seriously lived staying here.
I stayed from Saturday to Monday. It was such a great stay. The stay was very warm and welcoming. The front desk was always available to answer all my questions and was friendly from the moment I walked in. I checked in around 10 PM and the front desk was completely understandable.
The room was great. Everything was clean, the sheets were fresh and the bathroom was spotless. The only problem honestly was the television. It was small and the remote and guide were hard to operate.
I woke up for breakfast and everything smelled so good. They broke out new items every couple of minutes and checked on guests to make sure everything was alright.
The pool area was nice, it was pretty dark in the area but it worked.
No real complaints. Loved staying here.

This place is not clean. It is dingy and upholstery is stained. I kept my shoes on in my room the entire time. We were supposed to stay 3 nights. We only stayed one and then moved to another hotel. People who said it was clean have a different idea of cleanliness. Even the walls are dirty. The iron had sticky stuff on the side of it. Front desk was friendly, however.

They have breakfast in the morning, fridge and microwave in the room, and HBO! Wolfgang Puck coffee is my absolute favorite so I enjoy seeing that in the room, too! Hotel is a little dated and their seems to always be mildew in the showers (as I have stayed here before). Shuttle was on time so that’s a plus!!!

Thank you for going above and beyond and mailing my glasses back to my house!!! I am so grateful for how sweet the housekeeping manager was!

This hotel worked out well for our needs although it did take a bit of time for their shuttle pick-​up upon our arrival. Somewhat surprising as it is a CrewTel location and I would assume flight crew are looking forward to their work day ending.
Minor complaints and observation:
The front desk is semi-​professional (working hard or looking like they’re working hard) but not much in being personable and welcoming.
There is vending and ice on each floor. Fortunately for us our fourth floor had a working soda machine and the third floor had a working ice machine. Each of those floors had a non working machine of the opposite «gender». The soda and ice runs involved two floors.
The hallways here were stifling hot. I get the savings, but open a vent or two.
Typical and not too bad breakfast included, however if you chose to stay here for some length of time it is a food desert and would require a rental car.
The room was clean and well prepared, plenty of outlets along with well working free Wi-​Fi and the usual suspects on cable.

The room reeked of «Carpet Fresh» powder. The smell made it difficult to stay even one night.
Switched rooms but no improvement.

Decent room at a reasonable price. Always like this hotel chain. For the money you can not beat the amenities. Would recommend to anyone.

I never did get a follow up call from any manager or owner, and my e-​mail to the GM went unanswered. When the room was «cleaned» the next morning there was no improvement at all — all the same dust and mildew in all the same places. I will not be staying here again.

Great rooms for the price. Beds were firm and the sheets soft. Showers had great pressure. The hot breakfast had a variety of food.
Downside is they need more staff on the night shift and more roll-​away beds.

Stayed here on business twice. All windgates have cookies out after 4pm, this one does not. The first room I received still had garbage in the trash cans. The counters were never wiped down and were sticky. The breakfast was supposed to be included and start at 6. However, it was never out by the time I came down at 620. This is not the first time they have done things like this. I stayed here a few months prior and it’s the same song and dance that they give you at the from desk. Berry berry stingy here.

I stayed here a month ago before a business trip overseas and my experience was good.
The swing shift (I think? maybe mid shift) front desk clerk seemed kind of moody and indifferent to most of the customers he interacted with. He mumbled a bit which made trying to hear him over the din of the shuttle pick-​up median even more daunting a task.
Unfortunately I have never had a long layover at BWI, so I was not accustomed to the procedures for getting to the free shuttle to the hotel. I ended up having to call three times because I still wasn’t entirely sure where I was supposed to be going.
The shuttle driver for the hotel was very and nice and friendly though. She helped me get my heavy (at least to me) luggage into the back of the shuttle. She conversed with me and another passenger while she drove us to the hotel.
The hotel room I got seemed pretty clean and well maintained. The shower was like a damn puzzle for me though. It took me probably 5 minutes to figure out how to turn the dial to get the hot water running.
The WiFi was decent enough for me to check my e-​mail and social networking sites on my tablet. I don’t think I did anything else while connected.
I didn’t use any of the other amenities since I was only staying for the night.
Because I arrived at the hotel so late (about 10 or 11pm) I missed out on breakfast the next day so I could sleep in until my checkout time. Luckily for me the day shift front desk clerk, Jennifer, was very nice and accommodating. She gave me cereal, juice and yogurt since my flight wasn’t until the evening. She was pretty awesome.
The shuttle driver that drove me back to the airport was just as nice and friendly as the previous one.

Staying at this Wingate was the best hotel experience I’ve had in a long time, if not ever! It all started the day before we were scheduled to check-​in. I spoke with Dee at the front desk who was very happy to help and took ownership of my issue. She made us feel at ease during a stressful situation. The next day, we arrived an hour later than anticipated due to traffic but Dee helped us get checked in quickly and without hassle. A few minutes later, I realized that we forgot and needed a razor so I went down to the front desk. At one point, I would have thought Dee had six arms because she was checking people in, calling for shuttles, got me a razor, answering phones, etc. all in a matter of seconds. Needless to say, she came to the rescue again and we made it to the wedding just in the nick of time!
The room was very clean and accommodating, the staff was very friendly, the shuttle was quick and on time, and the free breakfast was delicious and hit the spot before having to make our 5 hour drive home. If we find ourselves needing an overnight stay in Baltimore, we’re staying at this Wingate again!

Stayed here on a Park and Cruise Package. after a week my family and I came back to our car which was parked in the lot and found the windows broken and the interior of the car vandalized. The car was parked in a spot which the front desk advised. After we returned to the car and found the damage, the hotel manager did not want to be bothered and said it was a park at your own risk lot. They gave me a cardboard box and tape to fix the window for drive home. The manager did not want to be bothered with me or the damage to my car. The hotel is independently owned by some third party management group so Wingate did not assit at all. .
In short, HOTEL is NOT SAFE and is located in a really bad area… Do not stay here because there is no security in the lot. Save yourself the money which I lost to repair my car and stress me and my family experienced… Management and service was just horrible…

I frequently stay at the Wingate when I visit Baltimore. The rooms are always clean, and the king bedrooms are very spacious. They have a couch and a coffee table, and a desk for working. The hotel is equipped with free wifi, although you have to log in from a browser. A downside to the wifi is it is totally open, so it can be leeched off of from the surrounding hotels (so not terribly fast, but hey it’s free).
The one downside with Wyndham (in general) are the towels. They are terrible. This location is better than some of the other brand hotels I’ve stayed at.
This hotel is also fairly inconsistent with their pricing. Sometimes I can stay here well under my government perdiem, and other times I’m right at the limit.
I’ve also noticed that you have to call and speak with the hotel manager to get the best rate. Typically it’s what is advertised on
(or whatever your favorite travel site is), but if you are staying for a long time (2 weeks), they will make you a deal to get your business.
They do have breakfast starting at 0600. They recently changed it from what I called a «build your own egg muffin sandwich» bar, to serving scrambled schmegs (an egg product that comes from a carton, typically very yellow in color) and alternating sausage patties and bacon. I actually don’t think this is a step up, as you can no longer make the egg muffin sandwich.
But they have waffles for those who don’t like eggs, and a small selection of pastries.
All in all I like this hotel; it’s not flashy, but as a loyal Wyndham customer, I’m happy here.

On a general par with Hampton Inn. However, most Hamptons I’ve stayed at have MUCH better beds, pillows, and higher thread count linens. You just can’t beat a Hilton bed. The Wingate does have better room rates, though, so…
Breakfast is just OK. Nothing special, and edible. It’s FREE, so you get what you pay for.
Had to wait nearly an hour for the courtesy van to come get me. Finally arrived after 3 — 4 phone calls to the front desk to make certain I hadn’t missed it, otherwise, I would have rated this place higher.
Great value for the price — the DIScourtesy van notwithstanding.

This hotel was fine for what it was. It is very close to the airport. They do charge a $ 10 extra fee for each person beyond two staying in the room… even if that person is four months old. Lousy, in my opinion.

Hands-​on manager eager to please. Staff as well. Cold breakfest out after 6 AM, hot after 7. Coffee/​tea/​fruit available all day. Bob Evans restaurant in parking lot. Ruby Tuesday’s a long block away. Air crew favorite.
