Vanilla Desserterie

Went in last minute to order a dozen cupcakes. The lady who runs the store was very nice and accommodating. About an hour later the cupcakes were ready and they were AMAZING.

Really great little treats. I loved all the truffles I got from this place so much my husband loaded me down with 50 of them for my birthday. I was a trooper and (with his help) was able to eat a good chunk of them. Every kind I tried was exceptional. I have also tried the chocolate chip muffins. Awesome! It’s a nice space that seems out of place with the rest of the businesses in the area. I hope it makes it. The ladies who work there are so sweet.

A few months ago, I was searching on Unilocal for a place to satisfy my next sweet tooth. I found Vanilla Desserterie and bookmarked it. Low and behold a few weeks ago, that sweet tooth struck and so did the need to find a place to order my daughter’s birthday cake from. I figured now was as good a chance as any to check this place out.
I went in on a Saturday morning and there were breads, mousse cups, truffles, cookies and 2 different kinds of cupcakes. I left with 2 cupcakes and a mousse cup and they were devoured less than 5 minutes after walking in the door at home. Vanilla had two very enthusiastic thumbs up from my husband and I. I went back the next week to order my daughter’s birthday cake and left with more delicious sweets.
My daughter (who turned 1) loved her smash cake and the rest of us enjoyed our own cake. Amanda did an incredibly job on both cakes that nearly had me in tears (combination of love for the cakes and the hormones affiliated with my daughter turning 1). We had 2 marble cakes — one with chocolate truffle filling and vanilla icing and the other with nutella filling and white chocolate icing. The cakes tasted amazing; they weren’t dry and the icing wasn’t too sweet. We didn’t have a theme for the party, rather just some flowery plates and napkins that were picked up from the party store, but Amanda did an incredible job of decorating the cakes to coordinate with the plates and napkins. The cakes themselves ended up being the theme of the party. I can’t say enough wonderful things about Amanda and Vanilla Desserterie. Once our cake leftovers run out, we’ll be back for more delicious goodies!

It was my sons birthday and he wanted a custom cake. Being new to the area, I was unsure where to go. I came to this bakery and it was an amazing experience. Amanda the owner, was so friendly. The cake was so moist and more than we could ask for. I recommend going here for your bakery needs.

My family and I were visiting Baltimore for the 1^st time, and we wanted to take advantage of our time there to have a gender reveal «party» for my sister. I looked up bakeries close to our hotel, and after reading reviews and speaking to a couple of them, I chose this one, vanilla. Amanda was super sweet and helpful over the phone, emailed me a menu, and agreed to bake this cake for us with minimal notice. I dropped off the sealed envelope with the gender, at 9:30am, the cake was ready by 6pm. It was small and beautiful, exactly what I asked for. I ordered lemon cake (dyed pink or blue depending on gender of course) it didn’t taste very lemony, it was more of a hint, BUT it was delicious and moist, the filling was great, strawberry, and the white chocolate frosting OMG soooo good! I would absolutely go back. And I highly recommend it. Very charming bakery with lots of yummy treats.

This is right around the corner from my house, so I stopped on last Thursday. I tried a strawberry cupcake, and is was a wonderful experience!

My husband and I had the pleasure of trying the cake cups. I had the chocolate/​peanut butter and he had the chocolate/​caramel. The cake cups were fresh and bursting with flavor. They were light but yet rich at the same time. The other items in the display looked amazing. Not only is everything beautiful and fresh but the prices are very reasonable. The staff was friendly and inviting which made our experience even better. I even had to take some cupcakes home because they were so pretty. I can’t wait for my next event so I can order from them.

We went aout 10 on a Sunday morning. The cases were empty except for 4 stawberry cup cakes but had a lot of truffles. I did buy a cup cake and a truffle. Truffle was ok. But I was seaching in Unilocal for a bakery, not a candy store when this came up. What a shame they don’t do more of what they advertise. The cupcake was very good. I would have gotten more if they had them. That is why we drove to find them. would call next time to see what cupcakes they have before going out of my way.

I was in the area around 10 in the morning and decided to stop by for some coffee and pastries. The venue itself was simple and clean. The baked goods and truffles were so cute and pretty. I guess at 10AM either all of the goods are already sold or they haven’t baked everything for the day. There weren’t too many choices as I saw on the other reviews. I was hoping to get a taste of the dulce de leche puffs, but there were muffins (chocolate chip with brown frosting and without), one type of cupcake (white chocolate), pound cake (peach and pineapple), madeleines (dipped in chocolate and without), brownies and truffles. I ended up with 5 mini chocolate chip muffins, a peach pound cake, and 6 truffles as well as a café au lait.
The café au lait was good, priced at $ 3 for a large. The mini chocolate chip muffins were extremely good too, and they were only $ 2 for the 5. The truffles, however, were $ 9 for 6 truffles. I had expected a more chocolate taste, but it tasted like pure sugar. If I go back, I would not get the truffles.

Recently, I was surprised with two cupcakes and a box. of truffles from this lovely shop. The cupcakes were their usual Yummylicious delights. However, the truffles were in a zone all their own. FANTASTIC!!! Especially the chocolate one in the dark chocolate shell and a sugared cherry on top… I ate it really slow just to savor every bite. Definitely finger-​licking good!

Stopped in here after eating nearby at Adobo a few weeks ago. We have been coming back every weekend and sometimes during the day. The cupcakes are outstanding and on the weekends the almond croissants are amazing. Flavors change a lot and we are never disappointed. Stop in once and you’ll be hooked!

When I heard here on Unilocal that there was newish dessert spot in town, not that far from me I was excited to try.
So being on the edge of having cabin fever from being the house all day Saturday from the snow storm, when i realized how nice it was Sunday I couldn’t wait to go give the place a try.
Put the address in my GPS and it led me to the wrong place. I literally rode around in a circle for about 5 minutes. Then zoomed in on the map too look for some general hints to where I should be. And there seemed to be Snap 24 fitness coming up close to where I needed to be. So back out the main road to take a gander. And yep there was a Snap 24 and across way there was Vanilla.
There was a nice young lady and she explained the pricing regular sized cupcakes 2 dollars and all truffles and mini cupcakes are $ 1.50 a piece. She also broke the pre bagged items pricing down but I don’t remember. But to say the least, she was very helpful
My daughter and I opted for the vanilla with chocolate frosting. I then got my husband a lemon with raspberry frosting. I debated on truffles and I regret not purchasing any but I am trying to make better choices with eating and having a load of truffles around probably wouldn’t be a smart move.
After dinner I took my cupcake out of the box then unwrapped the wrapper. I could instantly tell this was going to be good cupcake. There was no thick layer of crust when unwrapping. Just the thin layer crumbs. I broke it in half and more hints to this being a good cupcake. Actual vanilla bean specks!!! yes!!! I love that. And nice plump crumbs (plump crumbs mean its not dry)
ok on to the taste. This cupcake blew all of what I thought it would taste like as I was walking in the doors of the shop OUT OF THE BOX. The vanilla was of the dense variety of cupcakes but very very very moist. And the icing was divine. It had the taste of butter cream but the texture was much more light and fluffy. The chocolate used in the icing was definitely of high quality.
Yes I will be back, I hope this place survives the Glen Burnie, Ferndale, Linthicum curse. Sometimes places like this don’t make the cut although it absolutely truly deserves too.

Sent the owner an email at 12:30 asking for 60 cupcakes. She completed the order by 5:30. I brought 60 cupcakes to my CPA Firm and by 1:30 they were gone! Great owner and really really good cupcakes!

Cute little bakery that popped up recently without me even knowing. Decided to stop in after work one day to see what was what. As other reviewers have said, it’s a very simplistic bakery — few tables, the baked goods and not much else. Not that you need much else in a good bakery. Plenty of truffle flavors to choose from and each I chose was better than the last! Also picked up a mini orange flavored pound cake and some mini chocolate chip muffins. Would def go back to try other truffle flavors as well as the lime and original pound cake. I believe they make pies too, though I didn’t see any when I was there. Glad to have a local bakery such a short drive away!

Cute, very minimalist-​type décor that’s super clean and open. They have coffee and baked goods (some truffles, chocolate mousse, cookies, and muffins) that all look amazing. I ordered a few truffles, a bag of choc. chip muffins, and some chocolate mousse that I can’t wait to dive into. The owner is very friendly and the truffles are almost too pretty to eat!

Absolutely EXCELLENT! And Amanda is delightful. So happy to have this wonderful desserterie in Linthicum Heights. Yes, we’ve always loved Keller’s ~ the most wonderful donuts, breads, etc., but now we also have a gourmet desserterie! They complement each other ~ are not in competition ~ each has its niche. Stopped by before Christmas, after reading the Gazette article. Told all my friends to be sure to support her ~ and ~ guess what? For my birthday, a friend surprised me with HAPPY BIRTHDAY spelled out in an absolutely SCRUMPTIOUS variety of donuts (luckily, there were 11 of us brunching that day!)… They were ALL fabbbbulous, but the red velvet was Oooooh la la! Must order custom cakes, cupcakes, etc. in advance)

Just delicious. I tried them out for the first time and it was really good. My favorite from the ones I bought were 1. dark chocolate pearl 2. milk 3. chocolate covered coconut 4. smores. I would recommend trying this place out, even though for the four bite size truffles were $ 6.

Wow! Amazing treats. The store is nice and cozy a perfect spot to drink a cup of coffee and chill before or after a long day. You will find all the typical desserts such as muffins and cake as well as traditional Brazilian desserts. They offer bite size treats which is perfect for who wants to try 4 to 5 different things, like me :) The staff is very polite and helpful they will patiently explain to you the difference on each dessert and the price is fair! Definitely a place to go when you get a sweat tooth or if you want to cater for an event. Oh! it is also a perfect gift idea.

This place is such a godsend. Exactly the kind of place I’ve been looking for. All the treats are not only extremely visually appealing (absolutely gorgeous) but delicious as well. Amanda is so nice and welcoming; you can tell she really appreciates every customer that walks in. I have a big sweet tooth and these delicate desserts completely satisfy my cravings. I can be picky about desserts… I know what I like… but Amanda encouraged me to try some goodies I never would have picked for myself and they were delightful.

A lovely new dessert shop that just opened in an unassuming strip mall. I was going to get my nails done next door and fell in love with the minimalist style of the shop. I got to talking with the owner, Amanda, who is originally from Brazil, and I couldn’t resist picking up a few tasty treats for after dinner this evening.
I got dulce de leche puffs, vanilla custard eclairs, pistachio and chocolate truffles, apricot puffs, Belgian chocolate truffles, and a bunch of other little bites. She threw in some complimentary cheese puffs (gougères) that are absolutely divine when warmed a bit.
I’m SO excited to have a little treat shop so close to home!
