This was just a great place place for all of us airline folks to meet up and have a late night munchie and a beer. We are all sad to hear of Howard’s closing but our memories are very fond. Thanks for all the great times and enjoy the next phase. Cheers!

PLEASEDONOTEATHERE! Those condiment cups you get your mustard/mayo etc in. Yeah those plastic disposable ones– they HAND wash those and re use them. That’s gross. Not all of their meat/cheese in their back fridge is labeled. Another violation. The tables in there are cleaned with rags– same old rags. They clean their dishes but don’t have a dishwasher– no so sanitary! The dining room tables are cleaned with Pledge. Very bizarre. Oh and the old lady manager smokes cigarettes in the back so be cautious if you have asthma/allergies — you can smell it out front at times. Oh and they exploit their workers. Hostile work environment. Always playing FOX«news». HA! Oh and the owners are RACIST ! This place is just the worst.

This is definitely a hole in the wall-type restaurant. I went with a group of friends and everyone got something different and most of us enjoyed it. Those of us who got sandwiches, burgers, and soups really enjoyed our meal. It was simple food but done just the way your mom or grandmom would have made it. One pair of us shared a pizza which was definitely not a strong suit of the restaurant. They said it tasted like a frozen pizza that was just popped in the oven… but not a good one. Don’t get the pizza if you go here, get a sandwich of some kind. The price was GREAT. None of us spent any more than $ 12 but got just what we wanted. Our waitress was very nice and accommodating. We wanted our check split 6 ways and she didn’t have a problem doing it. The décor is definitely old school, but it was fun for a random Sunday afternoon. I would recommend this to someone for a funny afternoon with good food!

Hole in the wall. Don’t go if you are fancy. This place is for the people who just appreciate the easy things in life. Great food. The turkey club is the best you will find in the state. The cheese steak is a steak-um that some how taste really good. The décor is lost in the 60’s. But man do I love this place. Just a local favorite. The people are nice and the beer is cold. Cheap food and cold beer. This gets a 5 because I am bias, I live in Linthicum. Step back in time and give Howard’s a try.

So, I’m giving this four-stars with the caveat that you need to appreciate what you’re getting into when you go to Howard’s Subway. Don’t expect to get a Resurrection Ale or a Flying Dog. There are 5 or 6 big beers on tap and the liquor shelf had only the essentials. Killian’s and Blue Moon are the saving grace of the beer selection. Don’t expect artisanal charcuterie or fried halloumi. Instead, expect a fried pickle or a hamburger for $ 3.75. Expect to be greeted by some very friendly bar tenders. Expect to pay $ 8 for 3 beers. The décor is a bit kichy but the place is very well maintained and clean. And, as far as I can tell, there isn’t anything else going on in Linthicum. So, understanding the Theory of Bar Relativity this place is the best drinking destination in Linthicum. Overall, if you’re in the area definitely check this place out and adjust your expectations accordingly. Especially if you’re used to nothing but craft beers, artisanal dishes, or high-end custom mixed drinks.

Ha. I don’t even know how this happened. At a conference in Baltimore. Hotel reservation got bumped. Only open hotel was at BWI. Closest open bar at 11:00 p.m. was this place. So this happened, and I’m somewhat at a loss for words. It’s definitely… homey. As long as you are under 6’5 or so, otherwise you wouldn’t be able to fit into this little basement dive. If I liked Nascar, I’d probably have loved this place. But I don’t like Nascar, and I don’t particularly fit into the men-who-drive-pick-up-trucks crowd. The waitress was doing shots with the some of the regulars who seemed to be friends at the end of the bar, and gave us pretty poor service, but I guess it was a Tuesday night? Yeah, that’s really not justified anyway you look at it. I don’t even know what else to say. The place was dirty, the bathrooms out dated, it’s in a basement of a house, the people who frequent this place are a bit intimidating. It’s a bit of a shock that you are less than an hour from Washington, DC. Avoid. And please note, I am usually a huge fan of the diviest of dive bars. This is it’s own special place though.

Coming to Howard’s is like hitting your buddy’s basement bar for drinks and food, but in a totally good way. So yeah, a dive bar, but in the very best way, basically a great place for a quiet conversation and a meal. Visited here for dinner and a drink on a quiet evening in May 2012. Walk around back to find the door and you enter a room much larger than most guy’s basement bars but with exactly the same décor: dark wood paneling on the walls, a low ceiling and neon beer signs. The completely friendly waitress explained the menu and brought us a pitcher of beer. Food came quickly. I got a crab-cake sandwich and the others got burgers. She wrote us up with pencil on a pad, no computer here! Good plain food at low prices, I will definitely go back when I’m in the area again.

Great, just great, if old school is your thing. Great fries, especially with gravy! Do that! Wood paneled walls, extremely low ceilings. It’s the basement, what do you expect? The place never changes, it doesn’t have to.

The best dive bar in Anne Arundel County! If you’re looking for a whole in the wall with great atmosphere, this is it. Cheap drinks and food make it a great stop for lunch. Definitely get the cheeseballs with ranch! The servers are attentive, but not overbearing — in general a very relaxed place.

Love this place. Little hole in the wall that you will miss unless you are looking for it, but LOOK for IT! Terrific lunch specials. Never been in the evenings but I’m sure it’s nice then as well. Go in there for lunch often and the lady that is always working sees us and knows what our drink selections are without asking. just brings them over after we seat ourselves. Recently took the sales crew over there for a retirement lunch for one of them and everyone loved it. Dont know the name of the blonde that works the lunch shift but she is a doll. The entire staff is great here for that matter.

Love this place. Family owned for three generations with lots of wood panelling and red covered chairs. The food is what it is, great bar food at a fair price but the atmosphere of the place and the personality of the staff are what bring us back.

Quintessential dive bar with wood paneling, cheap drinks and food, and package carry out. There’s a juke box, tons of bar games, and friendly waitresses. The red leather seating adds a nice touch. There isn’t much else to do in Linthicum and you’ll find young as well as older people here in this bar.
