Chomonix Golf Course

I have experienced better! To put it frank, Chomonix is just lacking completely in the old fashioned golf professionalism that the game holds so much value on. They have now morphed into a make-​money-​before-​all-​else-​without caring about customer service mentality that just isn’t what you are looking for in a local golf course.
Some background; I used to caddie for an extremely nice course in Minneapolis and also worked grounds at a small local course in my hometown, so I am very familiar with the game. We went here as a «corporate event», made reservations 1 and a half week in advance for 8 — just 2 groups. Simple, yet we were excited to play and be great paying customers ready to use the full services offered (carts, buying plenty of beverages and food). First let’s start with the pros because it will be quick:
1. Beautiful course and setting, very challenging and fairly well maintained (at least the back 9 was… not sure about the front but more to that later).
2. Beverage cart girl was amazing — like she was our personal waitress and had a new drink in hand the moment I finished my other one, our whole group of 8 was never like, «where is the cart girl, I could use one right now» because she was there, always there. Keep it up!
3. Speaking of the cart girl — the beer selection was amazing and had a lot of local favorites and great micro and macro brews from all over.
…now the cons and to be honest they still leave a really bad taste in my mouth.
1. They started us on the back 9 when we specifically reserved a tee time to start the front, not the end of the world but a somewhat big deal for how our competitive game was set-​up.
2. Speaking of starting on the back 9, when we got through the IN 9 and were pumped to start the front we were told that wasn’t possible. A woman’s league event was going on and we would not be able to play it, we would have to play the back again. WHAT!!! We made a tee time almost 2 weeks in advance and you couldn’t tell us this until we already played 9? That’s just unacceptable, you knew the league was going to happen — you should’ve let us know. I can honestly say we wouldn’t have played this course if that was the case, we had a very serious game going for all 18 holes, we payed to play all 18 holes, we should’ve been allowed to play all 18 or be notified/​refunded about otherwise. I’ve never seen this before at any other course, come on!
3. Speaking of paying for all 18, we started a little after 5 and made great time because we were playing a scramble and had carts. At hole 17 (second time playing it, argh) the ranger came out and told us we had to call it a night. WHAT!!! It was still light out, we still could’ve finished ONE MORE HOLE. But nope, he said normally the back 9 takes a little longer so when you play it twice groups rarely finish in time. Oh your telling me bub, we didn’t want to play the back 9 twice! I figured he just wanted to put away the carts so I told him we could drop them off quick and then walk to finish up — we had a ton riding on this last hole! He said, «no can do» so I offered he could even take the flag stick and we’ll be done in 10 – 15 minutes. «No can do». That just doesn’t happen, we payed for 18 and could’ve finished 18, there is no reason why we couldn’t have.
This was disappointing to say the least — I liked how the course played and looked but it doesn’t matter if it looks as nice as Augusta, if you get treated like that you’re not going back and we won’t. We dropped a lot of money at the course for a fun evening out and it was all in vain because we were just pissed for how we were treated. I will not be going back and I will not be recommending it to anybody because I just don’t like courses that don’t care about their patrons. Sorry Chomonix.
